  1. well, like i said previously, it lets me put my super-lurkery powers to use, and helps keep the forum clean sooner rather than later, so its a win-win.
  2. I presume that means that other people are doing it as well. I know i've been tagging everything i see, but i dont know if thats ALL of the spam, or just what i get to see.
  3. Oh, of course. That's the only one that isn't hidden away and under tight security, for just such an event.
  4. i have no problem starting separate and coming together for some story/RP reason. Also, i have no real preference for starting location.
  5. I assume that only applies to people who have actually, ya know, read any of his unpublished works? I've never read any of his unpublished works, so i presume that he wouldn't prefer us to stay quiet about any thing that has been publicly said, and speculation, right (for example, the snippets he mentions about dragonsteel in that Q&A i just posted)?
  6. I'll just leave this right here..... Discuss, i suppose?
  7. Yeah, i am. Good god at my forum-lurkery. I've lurked forums for years from work/school/home/wherever, but until i joined TWG, i never realized how much time i spent on 'em, since none of the others i hung around used SMF and had a running "time online" ranking.
  8. Darn right they are. Also: that's fine. Eyebrows are over rated.
  9. apparently a lot of violence happens while i sleep.
  10. Come to me, my brothers! Unite under one banner and rally to me to stop these odious cookie thieves! I dream of a world where one's confectionery delights are safe on a dark night, and walking down the road with a delicious treat isn't a beacon to brigands who would desire to own what you own!
  11. Totally hired. The game is on, lads!
  12. nuuuu! mah cookie! D:
  13. Cleek hurr 4 hawt boobeeeeezzzzz don't mind me! I'm a friendly spam-bot!
  14. Well, we could certainly hit the paladin with a nerf-bat, if you'd like. The idea of "dropping" the base form abilities on an evolution honestly don't appeal to me in the slightest, because to me that doesn't make sense, but at the same time, the warrior's base abilities don't jive with what i saw the paladin being, so i made it its own thing. Which part of the paladin do you think is unbalanced? They have a mediocre healing ability (damages the paladin) and the ability to melee, and that's about the extent of their abilities at base. Also, in regards to the other bit, i have no problem with that. I honestly thought it was kinda weird that we started with more than what was considered the base maximum (and in fact, i was going to make a character who used only a single one and maxed at, but then i noticed that i would essentially be short-shifting myself, so i changed that plan)
  15. But june/december solstice can be just as confusing, depending on where you're at, because not all cultures use a helio-centric calendar (such as the hebrew calendar) meaning it doesnt happen in the same month every year. Googling it really quick turns up those only in the context of "alternate" names to the more popular winter/summer. Along with "northern" and "southern" solstice, which are honestly probably the best/most accurate names if you ask me. Note that, in all reality, i dont particularly care about the name (to quote Shakespeare: What's in a name?) it's just that, to me, it seems like theyre just picking a non-mainstream selection and trying to drive its point home to their students out of simple bore-headishness, and im certainly by no means an expert on the subject. All i remember is from geography classes taken back in highschool and pre-highschool days, along with quick google searches
  16. Hrm.....well, to me, the whole "elemental/status" sword powers (or channeling through your sword in general) didn't really fit with my idea of the paladin, and, to me at least, it seems weird to have an evolution lose the abilities of the base, so that was why i kept it separate and made it its own thing. That being said, if you want it to be changed thus, i can live with it.
  17. Are you sure about that? ive only ever heard it called the winter solstice (along with the summer, midwinter, and midsummer solstice) including in an academic setting (and a quick search of wikipedia also lists it as the "winter solstice"). Afterall, you have to remember that almost everything that has a name was originally decided by more primitive, north-of-the-equator highly bigoted zealous religious-types, who didnt really care about technicalities.
  18. and a happy new year in a week or so!
  19. i would like to announce that me an my friend have successfully competed in the ludum dare jam! edit: and here is the time lapse video of the whole 3 day weekend.
  20. stuff like that always makes me convinced that auto-correct is like intentionally perverted. It just seems like its always "Hrm...a B in that word? Yup, that's becoming boobs."
  21. I think its a pretty good idea, and i highly doubt brandon would have a problem with it, though i have nothing to back that up.
  22. I would like to announce that Ludum Dare starts tomorrow and me and a buddy of mine will be participating!
  23. deep fried oreos are totally delicious. They're usually fried in pancake batter, so its like an oreo surrounded by funnel cake.
  24. yup. As far as i'm aware. Yup. Not that i'm aware of.
