  1. What! Damnit.
  2. Nicrosil compounding was pretty much my theory too. Although TLR is also confirmed to be a savant in pretty much every metal. So in terms of power we're talking he's at least Elend's strength, plus the possibility of a strength upgrade from the well, plus possibly having ingested more than one bead of Larasium, PLUS being a savant. These combinations reasonably put him at the power level to achieve the things we saw him do. (Although I still think Kel could have put up a better fight)
  3. Or just powering something else. But yeah I think atium is returning. Especially since I'm convinced Bloody Tan was a Seer
  4. Ok that makes sense. I haven't actually gotten the part where Spook removes his spike or I probably wold have noticed it. I was wondering how Kel was speaking to Spook through a hemalurgic spike even though he was holding preservation. It's funny how during a reread you realize that you totally misremember certain scenes.
  5. I'm rereading HoA. Now I know that Brandon has said Kel really was talking to Spook at some point, but eventually it obviously becomes Ruin, even the annotations say that Ruin is talking to Spook. So have I missed something? Does anyone know exactly when Kel is talking to Spook as opposed to Ruin? Did kel really spike Spook? Or was that Ruin's doing?
  6. Does Hoid have anything from the Elantrans? Or is the scepter the only thing he's taken from Sel?
  7. True..."No officer...I carry razor spikes for umm, omg is that an inquisitor behind you!" *razor spike thingie to back of head*
  8. The feruchemical charge overwrites the allomantic charge in the metal. A metalmind that has been entirely filled has zero allomantic properties. I'm NOT sure what happens if you burn a goldmind that has only ever been half filled. Or what happens if you burn an empty metalmind that was once totally filled. Although we did see Miles burn some of his gold. And considering how obsessive he was with his metalminds it's safe to assume he's at some point totally filled all the gold he has with health. Perhaps eating a gold nugget that is half allomantic / half feruchemical would just give you two wells of power? And you could choose which to burn?
  9. Does anyone else really wish we could get a TLR novella? Something from his POV? He was the most interesting character in the entire Final Empire to me.
  10. I've always wondered a bit as to why they use coins at all, Marsh used those razor spike thingies in HoA, that always seemed far more effective to me.
  11. Rep around here is kind of hard to come by. I think my entire Q&A that I posted with Brandon got a total of 5 upvotes lol. Don't take it personally mate. Side note: I DO wish there were a way to change your vote, sometimes you can come back from a misunderstanding and realize that you'd rather remove a downvote. I don't know if this forum supports that functionality though.
  12. Pewter does increase your speed. Not just running speed, but actual movement. It's mentioned directly several times in the text. Spook was shocked at how quickly his arm moved while catching a bottle he dropped. It's not as dramatic as what feruchemy can achieve but it's still significant.
  13. Carry both, then you're safe.
  14. Reddit AMA today! Brandon responded to a question regarding TLR's massive soothing as confirming that he was a savant in pretty much every metal. Which basically blows away my theory of TLR using some feruchemical trick to ramp up his allomancy. Here's the connversation: http://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/comments/1ced7z/iamstilla_novelist_named_brandon_sanderson_ama/c9fp8f8
  15. I can see how it would be difficult when and where he lived. But these days so many people sit around working on the computer / watching TV barely even moving. Perfect time to store speed.
  16. I think he was actually worshipped during his life as well. I can't remember the exact quote, but one of the crew commented that he was setting himself up as a religious figure to the skaa. He openly used his powers in front of them, and interfered in the Demoux fight but pretended Demoux won just for supporting Kelsier.
  17. For misting probably Pewter. Since it grants speed and grace in addition to just strength and fortitude. Pretty useful. Ferring - Hmm, Spinner would be awesome until you have to store your luck. Who wants to risk having horrible luck? That could kill you. Otherwise almost any feruchemical attribute would be pretty cool. But yeah I'd probably go with speed, easy to store.
  18. Someone better than I at finding quotes could probably find the source, but Brandon definitely confirmed that Ruin's pool was at the pits.
  19. That's what I was thinking as well. There's nothing that says the yield from flaring any particular metal is the same as any other. I think we'd have to look at each metal on a case by case basis.
  20. Works for me.
  21. I tend to agree. Although I think Wayne was most certainly flaring here. Likely at a typical burn it's like 8x-10x, I think he was burning the **** out of his reserves to outrun that explosion.
  22. Since you are not affected by it, you get to watch, but are emotionally deadened and therefore totally uninterested in the outcome. I wish to have all the powers and capabilities of the Lord Ruler, but without the need to use metals.
  23. Rep to Morsk for casually throwing in that tidbit about Feruchemy that I had never seen before.
  24. Personality wise definitely, but perhaps when it comes to the way he uses his power he has to be a little more discrete. We even saw it in AOL when he said he has to be careful about playing favorites.
