  1. Hoid's real name WAS (this is unsure now due to the canonicity of the Original Dragonsteel text) Midius
  2. Are you able to confirm this?
  3. Aye, sorry - I ended up just rattling off the rest of the Shards that came into my head - apologies!
  4. We could all be wrong, and Hoid just could be some mystical Janitor or Museum Caretaker (think The Librarian, Carson Flynn) who saw the Shattering of Adonalsium, and is trying to put it back together before his boss finds out...
  5. This is why Rayse is scared of Sazed, and why Sazed is also considered one of the more powerful entities within the Cosmere - he holds two complete Shards, while others, such as Dominion, Devotion, Ruin, Preservation, Honor and Cultivation have been Splintered by Rayse
  6. Potentially, yes - which could explain Hoid's involvement within the Cosmere - this could be something to follow up with at a later book signing.
  7. I received my copy of Firefight this morning, signed and Brandonised as per usual My request was "to tell me something about the Cosmere that has not been previously mentioned" and this is what I received: Signing reads "To Adam, Long ago there was a plot to destroy Adonalsium. It failed." So, what does this mean for the Cosmere as a whole? Was Adonalsium split due to another plot to destroy it, or, did it possibly split under his/her/its/their own free will? What position does this put the original Shardholders such as Bavadin, Rayse etc - were their conspirators in a plot? Or was their taking on of shards a way to preserve the power of Adonalsium, albeit in a lesser form? If this is the case, how did they become the Shardholders of their specific shards? Was it all by choice, as we know Rayse's was, or by random fate? What is Hoid's ultimate role in the Plot? Opinions, as always, are greatly appreciated! Happy reading all! Adam
  8. It is a fair point - thank you - as I said this came out of a five minute brainwave when *slightly* intoxicated, so I expected holes to be picked.
  9. I agree that she isn't from Terris, but then, Hoid also disguised himself as a terrisman, so it is possible.
  10. Hi everyone, This is still a very raw theory that only emerged yesterday, so feel free to poke holes into it as you choose... I was speaking to Peter Ahlstrom yesterday, and at one point, the conversation led to this: Me:... an odd one maybe...but apart from White Sand (and the proposed argument that she is the author of the Ars Arcanum), has Khrissalla been in any other published books? PA: Someone should ask Brandon that at a signing Me: Hmm interesting - like my Baon=Blunt theory (something we discussed in May 2013) Me: Holy Christ...the Terriswoman world hopper...the nursemaid on Nalthis...would that be her? PA: Hmm... Now hear me out on this: It has been said that she is the most realmatically aware, although Hoid and Nazh come close. Nazh has been confirmed to be in Khriss' employ (and get's the worst of the bargain!) been to Threnody, Roshar and Scadrial Khriss is a scientist, and has been proposed as the author of the Ars Arcana This author is a member of the 17th Shard Khriss would be described as Makabaki if she were on Roshar. Makabaki are dark skinned, which both Khriss and Baon/Blunt/Vao are, as are the Terris (i believe - has been a while since i read the Mistborn series) It seems and sounds as if Khriss has appearances in 'published' books (so not including White Sand), and if she is indeed the author of the Ars Arcana, she has visited Scadrial, Sel, Nalthis, Roshar, Taldain (as an inhabitant), and we can possibly assume Threnody (as she has Nazh in her employ) It could also be suggested that she is Vathi in 'Sixth of the Dusk' - Vathi is also dark skinned, and has "the accent of one who is educated". She has curls, something that Khriss is described as having as well. Vathi is also described as "babbling out words as she worked", something that Khriss often did, usually to Kenton's amusement. She has a weapon that is almost like a musket with an explosive harpoon of sorts - the only cultures to have developed gunpowder to this extent are from Taldain and Scadrial. However, Scadrial has got ballistic technology down, while Vathi seems almost surprised at this working. It has also been written in one of the book signings (can't remember which post on here it was) that Sixth of the Dusk is the farthest into the future of the Cosmere we have seen, suggesting that the 'Ones Above' maybe possibly be future Allomancy fueled starships from Scadrial circa Mistborn Trilogy 3. So- I propose that she is not only Vathi, but the 'Terriswoman' in Nalthis as well. Please pick holes, disprove, or add as you see fit!
  11. I am going to throw this out as a theory.... Anyone thought the Terriswoman Worldhopper is actually Khriss? For those of you who know WS - she is in a position of power, intelligent and values knowledge... She is proposed to be the author of the AA - Terrisfolk are preservers of knowledge, and Demoux's girlfriend is a member of the city government Terris are generally quite dark skinned from what I recall (been a long time since I read Mistborn), and Khriss is dark skinned as well.
  12. I cannot wait for the reworking of the White Sand trilogy....especially as we have already met one of the characters from the series elsewhere in Brandon's books....not Hoid...
  13. Ah, I was just so excite when I got them, I dodn't notice Rithmatist in the wrong place! For Steelheart, I put as my request "Please ask Brandon to answer the following question - Is the Character Blunt in TWoK..>" and then the chareacter I suspect it to be. We shall soon see...
  14. Dang, John Simm as a young Midius seems almost amazing in my head now
  15. Hey everyone, Went a bit mental with my last paycheck and I bought all 7 of Brandon's books from his website, signed and personalised - i now have almost everything published by him, signed and/or personalised I asked for general hints about Hoid and WoR, and he wrote in the copy of TWoK (direct quote) Okay, fine. One hint, but not one in each book! In WoR there is a hint about how Hoid moves between planets - + it involves something you've seen in other worlds... Don't know if this belongs elsewhere, but I though I would put it up I have also just included a picture of my book shelf now - can see my uber awesome collection, including two copies of Legion, two of TAoL, and if you people look close enough, can also see the english versions of his bookbs beneath as well :
  16. Hey- thank you- and yes I have read both of them in the past- I have also read all the versions of Warbreaker to see the development f the book
  17. Hi all, I have been a massive Brandon Sanderson fan for a long time, and I have sent several emails through his website trying to obtain copies of Mistborn Prime and Final Empire Prime, which I know he has been willing to send out in the past. I have, however, never received a reply. Is there anyone who is able to point me in the direction of a copy of any of his earlier works? Kind regards from an obsessive UK fan
