As for whether Adonalsium was a Force or an Entity, it has been confirmed that Adonalsium was a 'He'

By saying that the Weapon was expended, I am less inclined to believe that the weapon was the original Vessels. It suggests, to me, that the Weapon was an item/entity that had a power inherent on its own, separate from whoever created it, and it was used up in the process of killing Adonalsium.

He also said that it was expended, which suggests that the Weapon has power of sorts, so I would be less likely to go with you on this

Its rare I dont get a nice titbit of info from Brandon when I am specific with my questions (less specific = him toying with me!) I like the aluminium idea - this is something I might ask with the next signing if someone doesn't get to it before me!

So finally got my copy of Calamity through the post, Brandalised of course. Now, the Weapon and the Shattering is a particular topic of interest of mine - My copy of Firefight confirmed that there was a failed plot to kill Adonalsium, and my copy of BoM confirmed that Adonalsium shattered because he was killed, thereby confirming that Adonalsium was a being that identifed as male. My reuest for Brandon this time around was "for information on the current status of the weapon that was used to kill Adonalsium, including the current possessor" - as far as I am aware, nobody knows where the current location or the owner of the Weapon is. That is because the Weapon no longer truly exists. The response I received was as follows: "The weapon was expended, and no longer exists in its original form" Discuss, my fellow Sharders!

Confirmation - Adonalsium was a living being
imriel452 replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I didnt even know I would be in it - I had to put WoR down for a few moments to process it! I have had a few good titbits from Brandon over the years (The Identity of Blunt and the fact that there were previous plots to destroy adonalsium that failed)- 30 replies

Confirmation - Adonalsium was a living being
imriel452 replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My personalization request was thus: To Adam the Lightweaver (I was a proofreader on WoR, with acknowledgement in the book (very proud moment when i read that!), and when I meant him for the Sheffield, UK signing for Shadows of Self (I dressed as Wax as well which was a lot of fun!) he gave me a Lightweaver pin as a thank you) & either: Info on Hoid and the 17th Shard that will impact upon future Cosmere events Info on why Adonalsium shattered Information on a Shard not yet seen The fact that Brandon gave us such a big hint suggests a lot about the other two things I asked...- 30 replies

We have known about Harmonium for some time, especially as we know that Harmony prefers the name to Sazedium. As for whether or not Hoid would kill, I think he would manipulate others into killing, as this would then get around the whole 'not being able to hurt anyone'. Brilliant information though

Confirmation - Adonalsium was a living being
imriel452 replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Weltall, Bands of Mourning is by far my favourite Sanderson book (and I have read ALL of them) - then I read Secret History. I was a beta-reader on WoR, and I stopped in shock at the reveal with Sazed and Nin. I have laughed, I have cried, I have experienced every emotion possible. And I had all of them when I read Mistborn: Secret History.- 30 replies

Maybe Alonoe is aware of the fact that Threnody doesn't have a Shard, which could be why she is almost dismissive of the capabilities of the Threnodites - maybe she associated possession of a Shard with power?

I don't think he wants to be Adonalsium - if he wanted power of that magnitude, he wouldn't have rejected the offers of the original Vessels

Totally random and crazy theory for me, but here goes... What if we have been looking at this the wrong way, and the Death of Adonalsium wasn't the big bad event we all think it is? What if Rayse is, for all intent and purpose, the 'good guy', trying to do his best to avoid Adonalsium being reformed, and this is why he is so terrified of Sazed? As the Vessel of two Shards, he is the closest being to Adonalsium since the Shattering... Break it apart!

I finally received my copy of Bands of Mourning today, having asked for information on Adonalsium (IN my copy of Firefight it was revealed that there was a failed plot to kill Adonalsium which failed) The Inscription reads: "Adonalsium shattered because he was killed." We now have confirmation that Adonalsium was a living being, and was male. It sounds as if there were several attempts on His life... What is the current info on the Weapon and the other plots? Can we start to tie things together? Particularly with M:SH revealing so much?

I haven't refered to any of the unpublished work or spoilers there of. The identity of Vao/Blunt is now established, a cleverly worded question got an answer about a Dragon from Brandon in regards to the author of the Second Letter, and the Ars Arcana for Words of Radience refers to Lightweaving being similar to that of the Yolish variety.

For those in the know- Vao is an anti-hero (in my opinion) - he has his own set of rules and he lives by them. That being said, this may change when he makes his next canonical appearance in the Cosmere. With Hoid writing to the Dragon about his perpetration of the feud between Rayse and Bavadin, we have an interesting state of play, now that we know that Bavadin holds Autonomy. Rayse seems intent on shattering and killing as many shards as possible, thereby making the repair of Adonalsium more difficult- I will not say impossible, as we have seen Hoid collecting Invested objects and developing certain abilities throughout the books so far. (Nalthan Breath, Scadrian Lerasium, attempting to become a Selish Elantrian, and Rosharan Lightweaving, which may be an offshoot of Yolish Lightweaving abilities) Bavadin also seems to want to limit the reformation of Adonalisum, purely through his Autonomy intent.

Wheres WalDo mark 2: The Threnody Worldhopper
imriel452 replied to Full Metal Rithmatist's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Iyatil is suspected to be a worldhopper (potentially on Scadrial during the events of SoS, as well as being on Roshar) Mraize has a selection of artefacts from different shard worlds including Nalthis and Taldain. Khriss is from Darkside on Taldain, and has also been to First of the Sun (I put this to Brandon at a book signing and he would neither confirm or deny but was smiling as I gave my arguments and basically RAFO'd me) Khriss, as author of the Ars Arcana may have also been to the other Shardworlds as well. -

imriel452 replied to Full Metal Rithmatist's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's Nazh, the guy who annotates the maps. He works for Khriss, who is the proposed author of the Ars Arcana -
Any book that has a version of Earth, ie, Reckoners, Rithmatist etc are definitely NOT Cosmere

Plot to Destroy Adonalsium - CONFIRMED BY BRANDON
imriel452 replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It has been confirmed through very tricksy wording by people on here (cannot remember the source, I hope someone will help me here) that the character Hoid is writing to IS a Dragon, which very likely does make it Frost.- 66 replies

Plot to Destroy Adonalsium - CONFIRMED BY BRANDON
imriel452 replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Really like the idea - but Adonalsium didn't seek out individuals - individuals chose their own Shards. Hence the comments about Ati being a good man before he took Ruin, and Rayse taking Divine Hatred without any of the balancing attributes.- 66 replies

BY tidally locked - do you mean in a geosynchronous orbit? I tried to put this on Taldain's page on the coppermind wiki and I had to take it down because not everyone had read the book... Also I remember there being a post about the moon's of Roshar being at LaGrange points - they hd plotted the night skies and the times of Roshar's rotation - might be worth looking at for more info
