  1. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/2383-qa-with-brandon-sanderson/page-5 Oooh...now that's a spicy one. Endowment's gift of a superpowered Breath would come down, strike the Lifeless, and all kinds of craziness would occur. You'd end up with a drab god, which would be hilarious.
  2. Although, technically we don't have a *confirmation* that actualizing an aon destroys the seon.
  3. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/2383-qa-with-brandon-sanderson/?p=42476 If they tried to actualize their Aon, it would have an undesirable result. In addition, the chasm broke their bond to the humans they were tied to, and you can see the result of that. So they were affected.
  4. The kind that the parshmen were using?
  5. Because Shallan has an honorblade like Szeth (probably) does? I dunno, she seems to use a spren bond.
  6. It's confirmed that you can use a Divine Breath to Awaken things. So they are, to some extent, transferrable.
  7. Thing is, we know that spren were around before Honor was splintered. I don't think it really makes sense for Cultivation to have been splintered for so long for spren to be established before Honor bought the farm - especially since he seems to refer to her as if she's still around in his recorded message. I thought that was from a discarded draft, and eventually got put into warbreaker?
  8. Well, keep in mind that the allomantic genes have also thinned out. For all we know, the second generation allomancers after the original leras bead ones were all mistborn, and there was a similar issue with the terrible misting genes messing up THEIR powers as well.
  9. Yeah, that's a pretty serious problem. Not sure that Szeth even has a spren, really; there could be something even weirder going on with him.
  10. Yeah, so you've got a full feruchemist. Unfortunately, he's got some terrible misting genes messing up his superpowers. http://www.tor.com/blogs/2011/11/the-alloy-of-law-spoiler-thread So instead of getting full feruchemy, he gets one of the powers. My fanspec is that having extra preservation messes up the delicate ruin/preservation balance needed for feruchemy.
  11. Feruchemy got wiped out of the population three times.First when Rashek turned them all into mistwraiths, second when he eliminated all living feruchemists in the second century, and third when Ruin eliminated all living feruchemists for his inquisitors. Plus the lord ruler's breeding programs. It kind of makes sense for the genes to be super rare at this point.
  12. Well, you see, when a mommy and a daddy shardblade love each other very much...
  13. Very rare, though. Probably due to limited intermixing.
  14. Spren existed before honor was splintered.
  15. When Leras manifested to talk to Elend in Hero of Ages, he apparently made himself more vulnerable, even though he was just a mist spirit. His physical body dropped in the location that the mist spirit was, so... I'm guessing that if ruin manifests a full physical body he'd be possible (if difficult) to kill. I'm guessing he probably also has to manifest in an area he can 'see'.
  16. The easy and boring way would be making him the tutorial guy. Every action game has a tutorial guy.
  17. Manifest a physical body and burn it.
  18. I'd like to have symbols next to topics with new replies that you haven't posted in. If I'm following a long discussion, it's nice to have all the 'go to first unread replies' links in a row at the left.
  19. Also, this seems a little bit too serious to be next to the editing message Yeah
  20. Well, Sazed apparently is having issues because his shards aren't (HA) in harmony with each other. I figure that combining a few splinters from the same shard would be a lot easier than combining a bunch of splinters from different shards. So you take a few chunks of devotion and drop them on gluttonyworld, take some pieces of gluttony and toss them onto sel, so if anyone DOES get the bright idea of reuniting all the splinters on a shardworld, they'll end up with an incohesive mess of gluttonminion.
  21. I said splinters from some other world. Grab a couple chunks of, I dunno, Gluttony and toss them onto Sel
  22. I may be reading too much into this, but 'several' usually implies 'less than a dozen or so'. And I'm not ENTIRELY convinced this isn't an Aes Sedai truth, and that odium didn't drop off a few splinters from some other world. What better way to prevent a shard from coming back together than mixing up the pieces, eh?
  23. The 'disable enhanced' lightswitch doesn't appear to stay disabled - it swapped off on me, turning the other mode back on.
  24. To play devil's advocate? On the 17th shard forums, in this very thread.
  25. Feruchemist / nicrosil misting. Because why compound one metal when you can (sort of) compound them all?
