  1. I don't think mistings can detect reserves of metals they can't burn.
  2. There's another quote that says feruchemy is grouped into eight physical, four cognitive, and four spiritual.
  3. Atium/Lerasium alloys don't do that.
  4. Gemmel helped him, apparently including getting him some metals.
  5. The goodreads thing? That was typed by Brandon.
  6. http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=680 Basically, the Lord Ruler was considered a Shard for a few seconds. Though, it could just be a 'Brandon not being 100% fixed on terminology yet' thing, where someone with a Splinter was also being called a Splinter, since that quote was fairly old.
  7. Well, Brandon takes into account IC info limitations for this sort of thing. See: his response on atium/lerasium alloys
  8. I think that's just pure lerasium (both god metals have an ability beyond their allomantic/feruchemical/hemalurgic ones). Mallerasium is a terrible name, but the 'various expanded physical and enhancement effects' could be just about anything.
  9. You drastically alter your perception of time. There are no external effects.
  10. I'm pretending it's an ocarina, because ocarinas are cool.
  11. Personally, I think it's more likely that it just enhances their ability with that particular metal, but I could easily see it demoting them as well. Of course, the table says "In alloyed form, [Lerasium] produces various expanded physical and enhancement effects, (including the creation of mistings)". I'm personally of the belief that there's a difference between a lerasium-dominant alloy (which probably makes misting) and a normal-metal-dominant one (which probably does the physical/enhancement stuff), but that's not really supported by much of anything. Since atium+lerasium appears to be a nonstarter for becoming a feruchemist, my gut instinct is that alloying a feruchemically charged metal with lerasium could make you a ferring. No idea what would make you a full feruchemist, besides maybe a lerasiummind/lerasium alloy. I suppose technically Sanderson's never explicitly said you can only ever have one feruchemical ability, so it might just be a 'chuck every metalmind you can into it' deal..
  12. Invention is the greatest invention; if nobody invented inventing inventors' inventions wouldn't be invented.
  13. Hey, how's it phrased on the feruchemical table? I'm sure there's some lucky dog here who managed to score one.
  14. http://mistbornrpg.17thshard.com/topic/230-questions-for-brandon/page__st__20 Apparently yes. I already asked that and got RAFOed
  15. It's an 'invisible cloud', so no.
  16. It's a symbiotic thing. Like a windrunner or a parshendi.
  17. Wait, does this mean you could use a tinmind and mimic bronze?
  18. I'm really not sure how the external enhancement metals would factor into this. You've got a dodge with god metals, since they're weird and different, but I'm not sure what natural ability nicrosil is going to enhance. Aluminum is always pretty problematic as well, just because it's so weird. I'm also not really sure about the cadmium/bendalloy justifications, either. If it was a personal temporal thing, instead of everyone around you, it would make more sense
  19. So would copperclouds shield against an awakener's lifesense, then?
  20. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/2383-qa-with-brandon-sanderson/page-5 The one it's bound to. Same deal.
