  1. Seriously, look at the context of the prophecy, then at the Data Topic. I didn't think it would be difficult to figure out.

BTW, we HAVE a banner you can put in your sig, Frost. It's on page one of this topic.

Yeah, I was gonna bring that up, Coma, thanks for mentioning it.

And it's okay that you won't be around much, River doesn't have a match until the next day.

  2. I think there's a lot more to it than just picking a Champion and giving them power. There seems to be a certain amount of grooming and planning going on behind the scenes. Vin was chosen to inherit Preservation's power from birth if not earlier. Brandon has made a few references saying that there's stuff we're not seeing.

Also, it seems that picking a Champion is probably how Shards do confrontation without literally destroying each other like Ruin and Vin did.

  3. Top

You move quickly through the crowd, but whoever he is moves faster. You barely pay attention to where you're going and who's around you, causing you to run right into Ambrosius.

  4. He may be feminine but he's not actually a girl, you've got plenty of room, Frost.

And picking up that mask may not be the best option, she IS carving it out of her Formsphere.

  5. Jay'el

She's not calmed by your words or even praise. You can see her frustration flare into anger in her eyes. "You think I didn't see you talking to the thiefskin? I have the Blessing of Awareness! I heard what you said! Giving him tips!?" She leans in and practically spits her next words in your face. "'Tech based, not much magic.'" She turns and starts to walk out. "And you have the nerve to call us friends."

  6. Hey... The Shardic Nuns wouldn't happen to be from ally, would they? At first I thought they were your own creation, but then, from the six chapters I read, they sounded vaguely alloy-ish so I thought I would check.

No, they are not from Alloy. There are other Orders, which reflect the other Shards.

Character Name: Meadowlyn (Meadow for short)

    Age: 21

    Gender: Male

    Hometown: Llenestra

    Marital Status: Single

Appearance: Slightly tan skin, long, blonde hair reaching to the shoulders (Usually tied into a braid),5' 11", 130lbs, olive green eyes, feminine body shape

Personality: Shy, friendly, caring, extremely curious, girly, intelligent, charismatic, quick thinking.

History: Meadowlyn was born into the royal family of Llenestra. As a child, he showed a talent for languages and music. At the age of 17, he decided to travel the world, learning about the people and places he had not seen. His appearance makes it easy to impersonate both men and women, which he has used to his advantage.

Meadow always has some sort of animal by his side, weather it be a mouse or a tiger. More often than not, Meadow is seen with a wolf, which causes some of the places he visits to call him the Esavodh, the master of wolves.

Now at the age of 22, Meadow has now added mastery of language to his skills. He can speak almost 200 languages fluently, including (Though not known to most) the languages of animals. He is always seen with a small notebook, but the significance of this is unknown.

Initial Grid: (Not sure what this is yet... >< Sorry)

    Forms: Earthbender, Gentle Fist, Telekinetic

First off, hi! Great to see a new player. There are some things that'll need to be fixed in this application, though.

Where is Llenstra, what's the culture and government like, and how many Spheremorphs do they have?

If you're okay with it, I'd like you to PM me about what the notebook is for.

The Initial Grid just tells us what kind of Morphing Grid you start out with. There's a list in the Data Topic that you can use if you want, though you can also come up with one of your own. If you're not sure what the Morphing Grid is, there's information on it in the Story Topic, or you can ask about what you're confused by. We're more than willing to help out.

We'll need a description of the Gentle Fist and Telekinetic Forms.

You have a interesting character, and I'm sure we'll find a place for you; a few things need to be cleared up first.

  7. Top sighs. Top is gaining no more from these studies. They work as a repulsive force; it's rather simple. Top wanders off, though not to far from the arena. He decides to go looking for trouble. There is no better pursuit for a SphereMorph than the pursuit of danger... Otherwise, I wouldn't be here.

You wander into the Mist Cavern, where the last of the Blue bracket matches is now ending. A burly man stands over an unconscious guy on the ground, soaking in the cheers of the crowd. You spot a dark haired, pale kid standing next to you by the edge of the crowd. He's smirking, apparently satisfied by the outcome of the match. There's a space bubble around him, like people are uncomfortable standing next to him. He wears his Spheremount on the shoulder away from you, so you don't get a look at his Grid before he walks off into the crowd again.

Huh. Interesting. Theoretically... let's try that. I start the first cut slowly, paying even more attention to where I'm cutting than before. Rather than cutting through the sphere like I'm using a saw, I vary the intensity on the cutting torch as I rotate the Sphere in its clamp, cutting deeper at some points and shallower at others. What would have been one normal cut takes me seven minutes, a bit on the long side, but I don't have to reset the position of the Sphere for the next cut - my cutting torch's unnatural flame smoothly flows into the next section of binding code. Yes. Not wasting time moving the sphere... this should be faster.

Just as you're finishing the Sphere, you hear a commotion going on behind you.

"Out of my way. Step aside!" It sounds like Victoria's voice. Hands grip you by the shoulders and wrench you backwards, jarring your vision of the Breaker. "Give me that." The headset is ripped off your head, and you can see that it is Victoria. She takes the gloves from you and puts them and the headset on, then takes a Formsphere out of her pocket and puts it in the Breaker, removing the chunk of Sphere you were cutting.

She starts cutting at the Sphere. "I am so tired of it. The crazy dreams, the headaches, the random statements and awkward moments in conversation. I should have known it was a bad idea from the get-go." You slip on the observer's headset and start to watch her work. "I knew it wasn't the best option, but I thought it would be helpful, not a big deal. I was wrong. Too wrong. And I came so close to losing my sanity, that I can't believe I let it get this far." She's astounding, her cuts are elegant, clean, and most of all, fast. "No more. I don't care that I'll need a new mask, but I can afford it. No price is too high for my peace of mind." And she's already finished. She moved so fast you couldn't even follow what kind of Form it was, let alone what she was cutting out of it. Now she's taking the equipment off, turning to leave.

  8. The thing about the spikes taking up too much space is that a hemalurgic spike effectively replaces organs that it punctures. Thus why Inquisitors, with their spiked eyes, aren't complete vegetables; the spikes in their heads effectively replace brain tissue. This principle applies with spikes placed in other parts of the body. Thus, if he reversed his age to the point of being a child, the spikes would probably replace even more organs during that time.

  9. I've played through most of Final Fantasy XIII again over the past few days, I still like the story and how the character arcs play out. Though things really slow down once you get to the third disc. But that's where the gameplay really picks up, expanding into a bigger world with lots of places to go at the expense of next to no story content. The dichotomy of great story at the expense of gameplay and great gameplay at the expense of story is disappointing, and I wish they'd done it better.

Yes, I like the story of FFXIII, I find it interesting, even though it's not without its flaws. Then again, neither are the other FF games.

  10. That is precisely what it means. Of course, you had to run it by me before, but now there's a bit more structure to it, which, I think is better than the way it was. I underestimated how much influence a Grid could have on a character and their abilities, how there's more of a way to do these things.
