  1. That's why they got confused with the Honorblades (mutated transmission of the myths/legends). BONUS THEORY: Cultivation is going to be able to take up the reforged Shard of Honor (once Dalinar, et. al. are done reforging it) and become the second Shardic dyad. She'll be able to take it up because she's Connected to Tanavast by marriage. (Meanwhile, some Physical Realm corresponding event, like the Stormfather and the Nightwatcher marrying, or Kaladin getting married, or whatever, will be the Physical representation of Cultivation's "Second Ascension" (for lack of a better term).) DOUBLE JACKPOT BONUSFOIL THEORY: Not even a theory, just a question. Why is there no Everstormfather? Could there have been, and that being was divided into the Unmade? Or will there be an Everstormfather? (Why is Voidlight not called "Everstormlight"?!)
  2. I heard that the first scene in the Threnody novel is going to be something like a fleet of ships sent to retake the continent from the Evil, with the fleet being devastated. I don't recall but did the text use "it" or "they" or both or something else, or what, to refer to the Evil?
  3. The Shattering would have as such, but if there was a corresponding wave of energy in the Cognitive and Physical Realms, the corresponding wave would be able to travel at a non-infinite rate.
  4. OK but if there was a Shardwave, it wouldn't move an infinite distance every moment, so there could still be a delay between the Shattering and a Shardwave hitting Threnody?
  5. The energy would come from the SR, but there's no space-time distance in the SR, so no rate of a Shardwave (the wave wouldn't even be there, in a sense; it would be a manifestation in space and time, of the Shattering).
  6. Rock is a Herald of Cultivation
  7. But what about in the Cognitive Realm?
  8. "Transcension," maybe. (Sounds Cosmerical, like "Catacendre" and "Recreance" (Recreance is IRL too though).)
  9. It occurred to me, Bavadin might have her own diabolical schemes but even if she does, we don't know that her avatars are all intentionally following a plan of hers. Maybe part of the point of her having avatars is so that she can have the equivalent of Splinters that "think for themselves" (and not just the vacuous sense of having thoughts that are in their own minds, but different from hers in Intent, so to say). So maybe Trell is a geocidal maniac but Bavadin is not herself in favor of massacring the Scadrians?
  10. Would we refer to Ascended chulls as "Shardchulls"?
  11. I don't imagine it was quite like a nova (ZOMG! "Shardnova"!!!). IDK if it's been RAFO'ed or not but I think Yolen is still around. (If so, I still am surprised, though, unless the Shattering wasn't performed on Yolen. I feel like killing God would involve a massive explosion, but who knows!) Or, let's say it was a Shardnova in the Cognitive Realm, and when the Shardwave collided with Threnody, it had a kind of bubble-of-evil effect (comparison with the WoT, where the Dark One would emanate little blips of energy that caused rando distortions in the fabric of reality). Like, it hit Threnody's Investiture and transformed it into whatever the Evil is.
  12. The Unmade: Honor made the Honorblades, which grant access to Surges. This reminds me of Yelig-nar granting access to Surges. The Coppermind says the prevailing theory is that each Honorblade is keyed to the Surges that are keyed to the KR order associated with the relevant Herald. So, my theory is that the Unmade are Odium's Honorblades. But more specifically, Odium formed spren from himself (comparable to the Stormfather) with which he bonded, which allowed him to convert them into Voidblades(!), so to say, and he then betrayed them so that they are now the Unmade. Or, he formed one spren, one Voidblade, and by breaking his oath (in forming them), the one Voidblade was broken apart into the nine Unmade. In any event, this process somehow took place on Braize to get the 9-ness from the planet. (Odium was "hacking" Honor's system of Honor/Shardblade creation, hence the redness of e.g. the Thrill and Yelig-nar.) Subtheory: Yelig-nar was a Voidblade comparable to the one the Bondsmith Herald (Ishar) would wield. This has something to do with the discrepancy between Bondsmiths not usually having Shardblades (so there are only nine KR orders that have typically wielded Shardblades) and the number of Honorblades. As a consequence of all this, Yelig-nar was a Voidblade that granted access to all the Surges instead of just two. Lift: This one's simple: Lift is a Herald of Cultivation, so to speak. I infer this (tentatively) from (a) Heralds are Cognitive Shadows and (b) Lift overlaps the Cognitive Realm to a greater-than-average degree for a person of her nature. Cusicesh: Randofoil-hat idea: Cusicesh is the Originspren, the spren that has formed from the many mythologies of the Origin.
  13. Hmm, well, I suppose the edit for my theory would then be that the conjectural Shattering-shockwave (Shardwave! aha!) the Shardwave travels slower than the speed of light. Slow enough, then, that the distance between Threnody and Yolen (supposing the Shardwave originated in the Yolish area) allows the Evil to come from the Shattering.
  14. Now we've got a WoB about this topic:
  15. Maybe it took that long for the shockwave to hit (if there was such a thing). Yolen might be thousands of light-years from Threnody, or whatever. I would think so too but for the WoB's wording: Also this:
  16. I'm not sure about the overall Cosmere chronology, so IDK if this is even possible, but I was wondering if the Evil might have been the Shattering. Or, like, a side-effect/shockwave from it, so to say. This might be why there's a similarity between the Iriali and the Threnodites (maybe the original world of the Iriali was also in the "shockwave-zone" of the Shattering). Now, maybe the Evil happened after Ambition died so the Evil would then for sure not be the Shattering when it originally happened, but again if there was a long-range outward wave of energy from the Shattering (if there was a specific "nova" point for that event, which as a Spiritual thing might not be the case so much), there could still be some meaningful relationship. (Another indirect indicator is the "Threnody was named in memory of something" WoB, and the thing about thinking it's in memory of Ambition being "on the right track." So let's suppose ancient (relatively ancient) Threnodites foresaw/became aware of the Shattering, named their world in memorial of the event, and then an age or two later finally got hit by the hypothetical Shattering-shockwave.)
  17. I'm thinking that a spherical Selglyph would correspond to a Selish magic different from the local variations. A planetary magic system. Maybe this is implicated in the Moon Scepter but I don't think it would be (as of yet) a system made up of all the spells for the regional systems.
  18. Is it possible that a steel Spike could have been transmitted via Shadesmar to Nalthis, melted down, and then, otherwise unbeknownst to the Five Scholars, used in the creation of Nightblood?
  19. Nightblood has been working off vague/weak/w/e concepts of good and evil thus far, it seems. Kaladin, on the other hand, spends a dashing* amount of time trying to know right from wrong, and acting accordingly. I have a guess that if he held Nightblood, he'd be able to "fix" the conceptual flaw in the sword's Command---although how, mechanics-wise, IDK. *[Thought of saying "decent" but Kaladin is rather dashing ]
  20. For what it's worth.
  21. OK, well, Sel's probably not a perfect sphere, or I would be surprised if it was, or whatever. But supposing it is something globular, do you think it's possible for there to be an Aon, or even a set of Aons (or maybe "Selglyphs" for lack of a better general term---is there a canon/WoB general term for this?), based on the shape of the entire planet? I imagine it would be hard to "draw," so to speak, or to grow bones in this shape, or whatever, but still...
  22. Is this per the Cultivationlight Shardcast?
