3 new people? Wow. How'd this happen?

Dragoon yelled at Jag, then ignored him petulantly, as if a child. This man was nothing like Jag had been led to expect. But if he could lend the supplies and aid the Destructors needed, he'd be fine. When he mentioned Astoria, Jag broke into the conversation again. "Astoria? Coincidentally, that coincides perfectly with our plans. The Destructors and our new Aussie friends planned to attack the city as well. We came here to petition for supplies and find aid. These pirates should do nicely," Jag said. "There's six of us, we just need some weapon upgrades, criminals for our army, and vehicles. That's all we ask." Hawkwing would be impressed with Jag's diplomatic talk, instead of his typical threatening. As long as Smasher didn't speak, they should be fine. Black Jaguar looked over to the pirates for the first time since entering. The brute leader looked furious with Jag for bursting in on his discussion. Well, he could accept Jag or leave himself. His female counterpart was more attractive than Jag had first noticed. Her attitude proclaimed danger underneath a mask of an easygoing, freewilled, cheerful girl. He liked it. But, if she was the pirate's, then he'd leave her alone. He didn't need love or even pleasure. He was here to take over Astoria. Pleasures came after duty.

Well, we're trying for an Heir too, if that gives you any sort of indication. I'm also planning on doing it next turn.

Altermind clenched his teeth, watching the giggles transition to a grim face at his words. He waited for Funtimes's decision. She'd either snap and kill everyone here or she'd agree to help. He hoped for the second, but distanced himself more from his illusion just in case. After a minute of silence, her giggles resurfaced and Funtimes skipped to his desk. She leaned in close to his illusion and smiled wide. Altermind stepped a bit closer to make sure he could hear what she said. "'Course I'm going to help, you beepy beeperton." A what?! Sparking woman didn't even have any real curse words to use. "I like to be a helper, if you like having a helper." She formed some of his paperclips into a larger one, with a smile and eyes. Something about it triggered something in Altermind's memory. His eyebrows crinkled a bit as he looked at it, grasping for the memory. Ah! He remembered being a child and playing on his family's old desktop, Windows 98 running much slower than anything now. He remembered typing words, thrilled at how he could make his thoughts write themselves. A goofy looking paperclip would pop up and give him suggestions every once in a while, asking him if he needed help. He had never needed help. Idiot programming thought it could help him. "Give me that list and I'll be the helpiest helper you ever helped. Or who helped you." Funtimes's voice brought him back to the moment. Clippy laid down on the desk, watching Altermind's illusion. Altermind swore the eyes followed his illusion completely, every movement tracked by his googly eyes. "Helpy helper, that's me." Altermind shook himself out of the trance. "Thank you, Funtimes. I appreciate it," he said. "First off, would you mind raising this building off the ground like you did to your museum? It doesn't need to be quite so high, a couple meters should do it." Altermind plastered a sickly sweet smile on his illusion's face. He needed to tread carefully. This woman was obviously unstable and could snap at any moment. She had seemed to like his fire, so he gave her and her entourage illusions of colorful fire dancing across the ceiling.

That's my brother you're talking about. I don't need to know that much detail.

I don't think my own life always comes first. In fact, there are many situations in which I'd be willing to die if it meant the others lived. That doesn't mean I'll try to get myself killed, but that I'm willing to take it if necessary.

Is this supposed to be difficult? #2, and I don't see why anyone else would choose otherwise. I've always found these interesting, especially in media, like the ferry scene in The Dark Knight. That scene alone is one of my favorites in any movie. Watching both boats deliberate and eventually decide on a course of action simultaneously showed the best and the worst of human nature.

I'll send the link to you in a PM, but you might want to make sure you're on the same page as Kobold and Twi, since the plans I have might be somewhat outdated.
-
Agreed. Good job, Blackhoof! Has someone sent you Corpsemaker's actual plans already? I've got the Google Doc Jo shared with me.

That's the same thing driving Max, and I think it works fine. Max's talent is that he's a good marksman, he knows people in the underground, and now he's meeting the Reckoners. That's it. Nothing else about him is all that special, except his refusal to give in. Mark could be much the same way.
-
I nominate Morzathoth again as well as the Reckoners RP.
-
Warrior, I suggest you read about Remington Springfield in Portland/Dalles(Twi can probably give you a couple of good posts to read, the Pebble in his Boot one is pretty good) or Max(as a lesser example) in Portland, or even Nathan or Sam in Portland, for examples, in the case of the first two, of badchull regulars who aren't OP and take the story too far. The second two examples show regulars who aren't badchull at all, really, but they are some of the most interesting characters in our RP. Mark doesn't need all this extra, shiny stuff. Make him into a real person. Someone you could actually meet.

Holy storms! Flash got intense early. This recent episode was just packed!

If I can find a nobleman nobodies going to recognize or miss, assassinate him, then give the body to DenPai so he can use it for the infiltration- but keep the clothes for your own disguise for later on.

Either works. We can at least add him to the PM if you can find it and go from there.

I'll add you to the PMs I can find.

Can I ask which part you're at, as a better gauge? I'm ~35% of the way through right now.

Dang, Jo. I'm sad to see you go. I hope everything gets resolved. I think I can take Gordon with Max and the Reckoners.

I got a friend into Mistborn last week by explaining the metals to him. He was interested and said he'd read it sometime, probably Winter break. I talked about the Lord Ruler and showed him that badchull picture. He said he'd try to read it by Thanksgiving. I mentioned Inquisitors and he wanted to know more, so I gave a few spoilers about how Inquisitors are created. His jaw dropped and his eyes were huge and he got the book online right then.

So, since I died unexpectedly early in the current SE game, I should have more time to RP this next couple of weeks than I expected. I'll try to get up a Destructors and Altermind post soon. Winter, can I ask what exactly Pain's powerset is? I'm curious how close it is to Altermind's mental illusions.
