Hey there, I worked on the linked Kaladin album above and I can tell you right now it's a hurdle to get authorized to use any of Brandon's IP. It's not impossible (again, see above) but you definitely have to get permission. I would 100% recommend securing permission first, even if you don't intend to try and sell it. That or do an original story/public domain work.

Sounds amazing! EDIT: Also, because I keep seeing this discussion point and want your take: how critical is a recent Warbreaker re-read? I'm good to go but trying to explain to friends and I keep hearing the point bandied about on Facebook groups. Recommended? Or SUPER RECOMMENDED?

Hey y'all, thanks for the writeup! As the composer (not orchestrator) of the lullaby, I thought I'd chime in for context if you were curious. I actually wrote the piece based on the preview chapters before release. I knew Brandon's father in law wrote the lyrics, and I thought it would be fun to set to music before the book came out, so a reader who searched for it while reading would have at least one take on how it could sound. Because of that, I had NO clue about Shallan singing it again. So, when I wrote it, it was from the perspective of a broken man comforting a child during a highstorm. The second, orchestral part, was me imagining zooming out from the residence and sensing the scale of the storm sweeping across Roshar, and eventually diminishing as they always have. That being said, the cool thing about art is that it can evoke anything and it's never wrong, really, because every experience and listener is different (see Hoid storytelling to Kal, for example). I like the idea of Kels being actively involved in his world still, but I get the feeling that 17th shard is much larger than Sazed or anyone we really know. Also, the Ars Arcanum at the end of AoL made it pretty clear, imo, that the Spirit web can be manipulated through many different means. I don't know why different worlds favor different methods, but I find the most plausible explanation, and probably the most effective means of producing immortality, would be through a variety/combination of Cosmere magic systems. At this point in time, I see no reason to believe that a Shard holder could not still find new ways of bestowing investiture powers on people, possibly rendering a person immortal without any need of additional mechanics.

I would sell my Ruined soul for an ARC of Alloy of Law!!!!
