  1. Are there any WOBs or forum/discord threads on Nightblood’s appearance in Cognitive? Does he have form like a spren? Would it be based on how he pictures himself or how other people picture him?
  2. Lirin is a well written character because I hate him a lot. He was by far my least favorite character in this book and I’d honestly like to see more hesina and less lirin because he kinda sucks even taking the ending into account because despite the glyph on his head kaladin still apologized first. Side not was extremely happy to see Tien protect Kaladin and give him strength.
  3. Just finished the book... extremely interested in finding out who the real treat is if it’s not odium as implied by cultivation’s interaction with taravangian/odium. Is Wit the actual over arching bad guy? So many cosmere questions soooo many. Great book especially for cosmere lore.
  4. @Neturo @Autobrecciation so I have been thinking about this since I finished dawnshard and have been listening to the podcast/reading forums. I like the idea that Adonalsium knew and possibly even facilitated the shattering my question is, Is someone attempting to put Adonalsium back together? I say think it’s possible to do for a few reasons arguably everything in the cosmere is a part of or shaped by Addy in some way. But also I believe it makes sense that his *cognitive shadow?* is still lingering in the Cosmere. If kelsier can hang on for hundreds of years and preservation something close to a thousand I find it plausible that Addy could do it for and indefinite period of time. Now I don’t really know but I’m just wondering why else Hoid needs to collect every magic system when he is already immortal and presumably has been just about everywhere there is to be in the cosmere including being present at the death of god. I’m sure I’m missing a lot especially since I’m just getting into WOBs but it’s a thought .
  5. Thanks for the welcome. I have been lurking for probably 2-3 years now posting very sporadically, but being late to the Kickstarter for the Way of Kings has driven me to want to be more informed.
  6. I was reading that there could be a possibility it’s part of the Oathpact that they made before/after the shattering that the Shards not use the Dawnshards as weapons against each other. Otherwise why didn’t Honor or Cultivation use the one they had direct access to to defeat Odium?
  7. I have to reread Unbounded obviously I’m forgetting a lot.
  8. Sorry I’m relatively new at posting so I’m not sure how to break it up like you did. i forgot there was a possibility that odium had been on threnody in the past and killed a shard there. also never put together that mraize constantly had a bird with him at all times. I need to go back through all the books. but you don’t see a similarity in how Rysn was give a command to Change and Kelsier was given a command to Survive? I have read a few theories on here that scadrial could have held a dawnshard with a survival command and must admit I like the possibility. Edit: just realized you most likely quoted then deleted the portions you didn’t want in order to reply one at a time.
  9. IJust wanted to inquire if there was any talk of there possibly being a dawnshard on 5th of the sun or threnody? Just trying to understand why these places got one off stories if they won’t be of later importance also wondering why the alien invaders would have so much interest in 5th and it’s magic if there weren’t something greater there. I have to admit 6th of the dusk is one of my favorite characters in the conserve and I would like to seem again but I just was wondering if there had been further talk about locations of the other two dawnshards as it’s being strongly theorized that the second is or was on Scadrial.
  10. @Honorless @Karger @Quantus I should have been more specific. Sorry I'm new to the use of forums. I actually meant a discussion of a character like Kyle Rayner in SLA. Meaning the equivalent of a white lantern. someone who could somehow amass all the surges/ be a member of every order at once. Also Honorless thanks for the lesson on searching specific topics that is going to be extremely helpful from here on out.
  11. Sorry i put this in the wrong forum.
  12. can someone point me in the direction of any discussion on here of the possibility of a Kyle Rayner type character on roshar?
  13. the Ars Arcanum at the end of OB talked about the way investiture was being commercialized on Scadrial just wondering which version of scadrial that is in reference to? does SLA take place during scadrials space opera time period or are we talking the early 80s beginning of their computer age. Also slightly related question what period does it seem that Sazed was writing to Hoid? which of his emissaries are we talking human or kandraa
  14. Sounds like I'm just going to have to read OB then come back and read these discussions. Thanks for the insight I'm glad I asked before I started reading them because I would prefer not to spoil any more of OB than i already have for myself.
  15. Two quick questions. Can someone point me in the direction of the discussion about Odium's champion and who it may end up being. I haven't started OB yet so no spoilers. Also is there any discussion of Hoid's level of "omniscience" He seems to know so much by the way he just happens to be places where things are happening even before it seems that he should really be able to know what is going on.
  16. I believe the only Aes Sedai I truly hated even up until the very end, and i just finished the series a few weeks ago, were cadsuane, and egwene (even cadsuane is a bit of a stretch even though she was overly aggressive and deserved every second of her exile). Naynaeve is the way she is for a very specific reason and she grows greatly throughout the books probably ends up being my favorite female character. Moraine can be irksome at times because she is overly vague , especially with rand, but after nynaeve she is probably one of my favorite female characters. Elaine unlike her absolutely terrible, horrible, awful no good excuse for a human being brother gawyn is a great character as are silverbow and tuon. every other woman in the book is written pretty well. I enjoyed suane, leanna, fiale you just have to read their context. and i do believe to some extent Jordan wrote the women to kind of subvert reality and show how women are put down and pushed aside in society by showing what it would look like if the origin of an age or religious tale started with men, eating the proverbial apple instead of women.
  17. I haven't read elantris, SLA, white sands, or warbreaker but I have read both eras of mistborn and the arcanum unbounded. Im about to start SLA, but i spoiled myself by being on here and found out that demoux I believe is off world. I'm excited to get through the rest of the cosmere. I have really enjoyed sanderson's writing most of all the little background stuff he has dropped in, so i am excited to see people i know off world as i get into the rest of the cosmere. I'm actually looking forward to seeing more of Sixth of the Dusk in the cosmere his story was short but i thought it was really good and i liked both the characters in that short.
  18. I like that idea. Do you think that those objects would take on the personality of the dead feruchemist or would they have their own unique personality born out of being "dormant" for so long. Like could we find tindwyl popping back up in the form of a politicians pen or something?
  19. I believe when sazed is using his metals he explicitly states that his smaller rings hold significantly less than the bracers he wears on his arms. I could be remembering wrong but I'm pretty amount of metal mattered when sazed was human. However, when Wayne gets that bracelet it did seem that he was surprised about the amount of health that was stored inside of it so this may not be the case by the second era.
  20. appreciate the answer shqueeves I was hoping maybe K or N had left some clues because, I would like to see some scadrians on other worlds as they were my doorway to the cosmere. However, In that line of thought couldn't it be said that the metal did take on sentience in the form of mistings, mistborn, and feruchemists (really all humans on scadrial) as those who have ascended often have trouble looking at both metal and to a lesser extent humans because their souls are the same as the metal?
  21. I saw an Ad in a broad sheet in the bands of mourning that seems like it was an ad put there by Khriss and Nazh asking if anyone's metal talked to them this reminded me of spren. is there any other evidence that there are spren on scardial or did they place that ad for a different reason?
  22. I wanted to know are Khriss and Nazh looking for Spren on Scadrial in Bands of Mourning when they put out their Ad asking "does your metal talk to you, if so please come to..."? I don't remember the address, but remember the broad sheet Ad being right after Wax meets Khriss.
