Granted! You experience a momentary loss of etiquette and now you are expected to pay for everyone by way of an apology and the meal was mighty expensive. I wish to be ever so beautifully fragrant. -
Welcome to the shard, Jordon. Happy to have you around. You'll feel right at home

Oral products are anything taken by mouth. That Includes tablets, capsules, sublingual tablets, solutions and suspensions. Those are the main ones. But yes, tablets are generally the most accepted form of medications but there are exceptions. Also, some patients, like stroke victims, can lose the ability to swallow hard tablets and so on. So tablets are definitely not perfect but really nothing is. Btw, pharmacists are part of healthcare but we are not Doctors (Medical graduates). I can’t diagnose anyone based on a symptomatic profile. Hospital pharmacists are kind of drug specialists and work to advise doctors and consultants on the best pharmacological approaches for treatment. We’re like second best lol. But yes, all disciplines are essential for a coherent system. Btw. I grew up in the UK because my father was lecturing at a university there but I’m originally from a small country called Kuwait. So I’m an Arabic speaker. Now I’m studying in Belfast in Northern Ireland. It’s funny because when I converse with my family, at this stage of my life, I think and formulate sentences in English and then articulate them out in Arabic. Though, I’m well spoken (or so i think lol) in both languages, I am considered by many as very quick witted in English but very slow in Arabic, although I didn’t move to the UK until I was 9. It’s interesting how my personality changes at both states.

Thank you for the response Elandera, I love bouncing inspiration with other by learning about their ambitions. I would have to look more before answering your question, but here is what I know. Epinephrine (Adrenaline) is used mostly for emergencies to produce an adronergic response (Increased cardiac output, opens your airways through bronchodilation ...) in short, a fight or flight response. I haven’t heard of studies for oral epinephrine and that is probably because the drug is most useful when delivered directly into the systemic circulation producing an immediate response. Even if an oral formulation can be produced (which would be almost impossible) the time it would take for the molecules to pass through the livers metabolism (First-pass metabolism) and into the blood would be too long. Some drugs are just not meant to be administered orally. Nowadays, there are ways to ‘coat’ the molecule with a substance that is resistant to the harsh environment within the stomach and can rapidly be absorbed. That’s how insulin can now be orally taken so I shouldn’t say it’s impossible. It just wouldn’t have a remarkable enough application. Better to stick with inhalation and injections. Cheers

Hey everyone, I was reading through the Stormlight Archives section when I came across This thread. In the comment section, two members go on to have an extremely interesting and enlightening discussion about linguistics, which is a specialty of @Llarimar , who started the thread. This got me thinking about other members of this community and their hidden intellectual trajectory outside of the genre of Fantasy Fiction. I guess I'll start. I am currently in my 3rd year of a pharmacy masters degree. I will, hopefully, end up in the field of oral drug delivery research. My interest is in increasing the availability of parenteral (Injectable) formulation as oral products to Increase patient compliance and adherence to medication. For example, Insulin, now has approved oral formulations that are rapidly absorbed in the stomach without being broken down by digestion, which was the main issue with insulin as an oral drug. Many drugs, especially protein based ones, are still only available as injectables which require delicate and usually more expensive techniques of mass production. Formulating oral alternative will reduce costs of manufactor, increase patient compliance and adherence, reduce the pressure and precious time needed for healthcare staff to administer injectables and so on. It is an exiting field of research to be a part of and I hope to snatch my degree soon and dive right in. Would love to hear about you all . Cheers.

What character are you most like?

Probably Hammond from Mistborn. Always acting tough and stoic, low-key into deep philosophical debates that my mates are never interested in. Ham is who i am. -

It would actually be refreshing if that happens. I never considered that the anecdote could be prophetic in anyway, interesting. -
[OB] How The Radiants Will Win
Barbarian AL replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
Sure, though, I doubt it will be clean. Take Mistborn, first Era. My point is, I think it will be bittersweet. Maybe Odium will crumble, the cost being the destruction of the Radients and their Spren. I do think the Radiants will eventually break their oaths again too. Sanderson, although tame with many things in his writing, was never the type of writer that shies away from the whole concept of "A heavy price must be paid for victory'. I think he wants to write uplifting endings, just not in that old fashion 'happily ever after' kinda way, kolo? So ya I agree. It won't be all clean though is what I say. -

Granted! You are doomed to be able to eat pasta only with your bare hands for the rest of your life. I wish to be more articulate. -
Nocrium! While burning it, a Syncer creates a bubble around him/her (Half a meter wide) wherein he/she can sync into your mind and absorb feelings, emotions, thoughts, memory ... If more than one person is proximal enough, a Syncer can sync into multiple minds. Flaring the metal expands the area of influence. Syncer can only be detected by experienced Seekers and are known to mingle in social events of high caliber and within political circles. They are quick to gain power through manipulation and deceit though if not careful, they can be exposed through simple social capabilities. Experienced Syncers are able to withhold large amounts of data and only act upon their knowledge with efficient delicacy. Nocrium feruchemists, Revivors, exhibit the ability to store euphoria. Usually, Revivors will fill their metal minds during times of emotional stability to utilize it later in life. Revivors are known to be stoic and extremely controlled of emotion even in extreme situations.

Friend: This soup is disgusting. Me: *sighs* ..... Rock must have put chull dung in it. Friend: What? Me: What? -
Barbarian that I am, I once cycled out into the motorway and panicked. I called a friend to pick me up and salvage the situation. I thought it was legal when it clearly wasn't. My best friend dubbed me AL (my name) the barbarian that day. Its been a running joke every since that I now choose to embrace lol.

Granted! Your band new Jeep emits a carbon footprint so great you're now a moving, grooving hazard for the environment. I wish for a bicycle that leaves stargazer lilies in its wake. -
Never done any role play in my life and I'm eager to try it out . Thank you They aren't just cool, they are transformative. Thank you for a warm welcome I love Rock from Bridge Four, I think he is earnest, sincere and emotionally intelligent you know. He steels the limelight in all the scenes he's in, in my opinion. Don't know, I think he's my favorite. In terms of main characters, Sazed, no doubt. I literally cried for the first time since childhood when I was reading his chapters on that crises of faith he went through in Mistborn. Hit me at a Molecular level I tell ya. People always talk about that one book that got them into reading. Me, It was those chapters. Great stuff. Sazed, by ash and rust. SAZED!

Greetings and salutations to you all My name is AL and I'm going to tell you why I feel liberated. I grew up in an academically flourishing family but around friends that are 'too cool for reading books' kinda kids, love 'em all to death but one needs to hear his passions spoken aloud by someone else every now and then. You know, helps validate your sanity. I'm skipping ahead so let me backtrack a little. I haven't picked up a novel, for fear of social exclusion, until my first year in university. I read my first Sanderson book (the final empire) last year and I've read the entire cosmere collection since. Also, I feel inclined to include, I've knocked out a guy in an amateur MMA bout at uni after publicly making fun of me reading a book during training. I had my nose broken that day. Worth it. Since then, I've found my passion, my capacity for empathy and my ultimate humanity within those pages and since the social environment that I love and grew up around isn't necessarily the Tranquiline Halls for readers. I went looking online. I lounge to be part of a community unafraid of projecting their passions and interests and so here I am. My friends call me Barbarian AL because, barbarian that I am, I once thought that it was legal to cycle in a motor way, honest mistake I reckon. For you however, I shall show nothing less than civility and respect despite my given name. Kindly barbarous regards, AL.
