While I understand this sentiment, and frankly agree, I know people, who, even if you use a term indiscriminately, still prefer that you don't use the term to describe them due to the way they personally identify. Just because someone uses a term indiscriminately, doesn't mean someone else understands it indiscriminately. (These are not necessarily my thoughts on the issue, Just thoughts that I saw online.) Further discussion of this might be more appropriate in another forum. (Is there like a "Politics and Social Issues" thread? Because that's where it would probably fit in best. On days like today, Tom wondered if it would even matter if he quit. The end of the world seemed just around the corner anyways. Tom had enough in savings. He could cash out, and purchase enough supplies to last his familyabout a month and a half. It would certainly be better to spend time with his wife and kids. Tom worked at the local tavern. If health inspectors or Obligators came through, he was an assistant to the cook, but his real job was to gently riot the visitors. Enough to get them rowdy, but not so much to cause fights. Fights were bad for business. It was a delicate balance. And focusing on that, while disguising yourself as a kitchen worker was hard work. A work he was not paid or treated well enough for. Tom decided it was time to act. Walking up to the owner, [insert name here]* he began, "[Insert name here], I'm quitting tonight, unless my wage is doubled. The economy is crashing, and the world probably is ending. It's no longer worth my current wage to continue working here." Before the owner could respond, he continued. "My shift ends in three hours. I will come discuss the matter with you after my shift ends. I just wanted to make you aware, so you could make a conscious decision." Then Tom walked away, back to rioting the guests from the comfort of a nook in the kitchen with a slit in the wall allowing him to peer into the dining area. ------ Edit: If anyone wants to RP the owner, by all means go for it. If not, then Tom will probably end up quitting regardless.

Quality of Drawing is 9.5/10. Shadows are wonderfully done 8.5/10 total, due to it's difficult to see the drawing.

I thought that the calls were all done online now? But, yes, essentially, we open a document or letter, that informs that person where they have been called to serve. In this case, a calling is where members of the church believe that the Lord has asked them to serve a mission. Kind of like when someone in a book feels like they have been called to complete a quest, except the calling isn't revealed to the person going on the quest, instead, it's revealed to men who we believe are prophets. Congrats! Keep learning Japanese! After your mission if you speak fluent spanish, fluent japanese, and fluent english, you will have lot's of great opportunities in life! As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, (Often refered to as the LDS church, or Mormon church) one of our core beliefs is the importance of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and inviting others to live it's teachings with us. For reasons difficult to explain simply, we believe that the Lord has called all worthy, able, young men to serve a mission, and has opened the invitation to others as well. Even though we believe that all young men have been called, it is still their right to accept or reject the call, and this is done by those who are willing to serve fill out an application, and wait to see where they have been asked to serve. Then the missionary will leave their home, for two years, where they are expected to abide by the rules that were explained in basic detail prior to their leaving, and explained in more detail, once you actually arrive. The missionary usually follows a strict-ish schedule where they search for those willing to listen to their message, and preach the gospel to those people. The missionary should always be with a companion 24/7, except bathroom breaks and stuff like that, who is there to help share the message, make sure the other abides by the rules, as well as for safety purposes. Basically extreme buddy system. But I don't want to go into way too much detail here, as that is not the purpose of this thread. Everything has a place and purpose. I hope I've answered most of the questions you might have "What is a mission" "Why go" "How is it set up" "what is it's purpose." But if you have any more questions about the set up of a mission, feel free to PM me, I've served a mission too (in Chile), and I held various different positions within the mission's structure. As I begin the treacherous walk down the mountain path, I question the accuracy of the mage. "Surely, no one can see the future" I mutter under my breath. "I am in charge of my own choices, and therefore my own destiny." Hours later, I arrive back at my village. There is smoke coming from my part of town. I let curiosity get the better of me, and hurriedly, I go to see what is on fire. As I get closer, to the fire, my apprehension begins to grow. I turn the last corner, and see that it is my underwater basketweaving shop that is on fire. After asking around, I learn that my neighbor was attempting to light a fire for his evening meal, when his fireplace unexpectedly collapsed, releasing a cloud of smoke concealing a flurry of sparks. Some of those sparks seem to have landed on my pile of twigs, and reeds, used for basketweaving. Now my home and shop was burnt down. Among the devestation, I hear the distant sounds of the town main street. Music begins, and I realize that a Minstrel Troupe has come to town. I immediately decide that the unknown mage cannot tell the future. I decide to ignore the Minstrels. I square my shoulders, set my jaw, and begin plans for reparation of my business.
