Exasperation.
I turned a page in my book.
Exasperation.
I yawned and hid a smile.
EXASPERATION.
Glancing over lazily, I watched as Joy bobbed in the air, not quite living up to her name. "Yes?" A faint sense of boredom washed over me. "Not my problem." I returned to my book, waiting.
Joy darted in front of my face, booped my nose - it felt like silk - and back away again. Annoyance. Boredom.
I fake-sighed and got up from my bed, where I'd been lounging as I read. "Fine, I'll go see if anyone's downstairs." People should be back from school by now, right? My eyes found the alarm clock on my bookshelf. Okay, definitely back from school. Back from after-school activities, even. Dodging my spren as I made my way out the door, I trotted down the hall, skipped several steps on my way down the stairs, and walked into the kitchen.
