Technically, not only did Doc adopt her, but Cass was also adopted by her first parents. So I'm not sure about them looking alike. "Investiture? Like Allomancy? Yes, I definitely know what that is." She smiled. I, however, frowned. "I'm not sure what Allomancy is." With a glance at Uncle James, I added, "It might be a type of Surge, but I haven't heard of that name for it, if so?"

I followed a few seconds behind James as he confronted the girl with red hair. She looked like she might be around my age, and didn't seem too happy that we were blocking her way. She also looked surprised when she saw the Stormlight flickering on his form; another point toward her Investiture not being Surgebinding or Voidbinding, though I supposed she could just be new. Joy flitted closer to me, and I tensed. How would she react to a spren? "Listen, we don't want to hurt you, but we have people to take care of." I found my eyes catching on hers and tore them away. Stop staring, Cass, it doesn't matter how green they are. "Do you know what Investiture is?"

I nodded, trotted over to the baggage claim, and scanned the area. Who could it be? There was no indication of gender or age from the machine, so I had nothing to go off of - they could be the mother rolling her eyes at her begging kids, one of the two teens chatting about books while they grabbed their stuff, the...wow, awesome-looking redhead going for the exit, the person of ambiguous sex going through their bag on a nearby bench, back to us. I glanced at James for confirmation. I like the name! Oh my gosh, that's hilarious. They might hate you though.
