Myriad’s first indication that things were not as they should be was a twitch of confusion jolting through her calm. Her second indication was the fact that her first hadn’t been the gargantuan worm now lying dead on the ground before her, leathery and eyeless and leaking its black life everywhere from the stone of the cavern to the water it had erupted from. She sucked in a surprised breath, and the blank her mind had been a few heartbeats ago eroded abruptly with her intense freaking out. She closed her eyes and tried to reason through it like she might do for a panic attack at a crosswalk. You are here, alive (relatively), fine, breathing. Keep breathing. Focus on each inhalation as you fill someone else’s lungs with sweet oxygen. You are not being crushed by momentum, and in this case, you haven’t been consumed by a massive cave monster. Myriad drew open her eyes again, pointedly not succumbing to thoughts of the past. She’d already dwelled on her parents today, and once was certainly enough for one day. Thrusting herself to her feet, she gazed around at what the man operating the elevator had called Keep Venture. It was probably named for how big it was, like a keep of medieval days, and for the venture they’d be undertaking when they hiked into the depths of the cave system. The place was utterly disarrayed, though the director seemed to be working on fixing that. The woman had already called out for anyone needing medical assistance to move to a particular area where they could be healed; Myriad could remember that. Her memory hadn’t been affected, just her emotions during the fight. Some people were even beginning to relax again - she saw a few start cutting the flesh from the worm and glanced away, gaze landing on two women and a man sharing a chat. She started walking over, conscious of having not done anything in the fight. How had some of the others resisted the strange muffling of emotions? Had one of them been doing it somehow, or was it the giant creepy worm? She frowned at the thought that somebody in ACE might have influenced their fellow explorers that way, but then it could just be a side effect of some other action. All the various ways of using magic or technology here were insanely complicated...and as a member of the Scholar’s Guild, Myriad was determined to learn about them all. She reached the three, seeing one woman emit a flash right before she arrived. “Hi,” she said politely. “I’m sorry to interrupt, but could any of you explain to me what just happened?” @ZincAboutIt @Voidus @TrailRunnin

What do the swords do, exactly? And I’m not a mod, but I would place the natural weapons/controlling weak Hemalurgic creations at way more than five. I’d probably up the teleportation a bunch too, and maybe the making people afraid. Can they control the intensity of the fear? If not, how afraid do they make people? I also probably wouldn’t discount it, there’s not really a reason to discount any of that just because it all goes together. Not a reason I see, anyway, I could be missing something.

Oof, too bad for them Unfortunately, the babies went missing after a few days. Siri probably did what rats do, but there was no sign of them or any...remains, so who knows.

non-canon Challenge of Champions! Wes vs. Deteca
AonEne replied to I think I am here.'s topic in The Alleyverse
“Sorry for getting my blood on your cloak,” Deteca answered, dodging to the side, away from the thrown metal. It was a good thing he wasn’t a Coinshot or Lurcher. When he went to stab her, she held up the bendalloy bracer, catching the makeshift blades on it.- 83 replies

I wish But their names fit them in other ways - Vivenna is bigger, their personalities both changed over time, and Siri was pregnant when we got them (though we didn’t learn that fact until I came home one day and found her sitting on two little pink babies).

She’s a rat named Siri, and my other rat is Vivenna. Thanks!

(It was what would happen if they were removed from the food chain, quora) Granted, but you see something else entirely in the mirror. If you know what I mean. I pass on having a wish, I can’t think of anything. -
Really, I don’t think any of us can beat the Hoid one.

I thought of some of my own Kelsier: really involved and happy, but not super faithful - then goes off and forms yet another sect of Christianity Vivenna: used to be the definition of ‘catty Mormon girl’ but the bishop took her into his office one day and she was never the same afterward Adolin: that kid who has difficulties wrapping his head around most of the spiritual concepts but gives a really good talk when he has to Renarin: is beginning to disagree with religion but is too shy to say anything, and so plays MtG in the back of the chapel Dusk: took a while to convert, baptized Vathi because she begged him to Allrianne: that girl who SOMEHOW LOOKS AWESOME EVEN COMING UP FROM THE FONT. This one also works for Siri
