The Art of Game Creation
The Young Pyromancer replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
He ended up killing off the whole Elim team, narrowed the game down to one final game cycle where it was him and two others, manipulated the others into both thinking the other was the last elim, and winning by being literally the last player alive. -
This Epic, unlike most Jacklyn had interacted with, seemed to appreciate her standing up for herself. She had gambled that he would to some extent. Maybe it was just because he thought she was powerful, but she would have to go along with it, even if all her post-Calamity instincts were screaming at her to do otherwise. What did she know about the woman in red? Jacklyn couldn’t tell Epoch the truth, because he seemed to think she was powerful, and no one powerful would run away from someone begging to be their slave. Maybe if she told him about the woman, but not their meeting… “Before today, I’d never met her. She must have been an Epic of some sort, as she bore scars that no Maple could survive. She carried a knife. Most interestingly, she was able to detect that I was an Epic as well. Oh, and she’s probably insane.” Jacklyn spoke in a self-confident, assured tone, even though her emotions told a different story. Great, she thought, Steelheart becomes Superman, and I get a makeover and bluffing skills. She had to admit that she executed the flippant remark at the end rather authentically though.

What Happened Outside Of Canon
The Young Pyromancer replied to TwiLyghtSansSparkles's topic in Reckoners RPG
Nicroburst looked around cautiously. He saw Borrower, grinning like a kid on Christmas. He saw Upgrade, arrogant as ever. And he saw Jacklyn, lying on the table between them. Once he and Upgrade had double-enhanced her, her they had both fallen in love with her instantly. Nicroburst knew that was probably due to his emotions being manipulated, but he didn't care. He took a deep breath, and then the three held hands. An explosion of power overtook them. However, as per their instructions, they did not let it build exponentially. They diverted the power into the masterpiece that they encircled. Instantly, all three of them broke apart, minds twisted by the radiant form that lay between them. The figure between them slowly stood, and spoke one word. "Obey."- 62 replies

He had a dowser? Even sparking Steelheart didn’t have one of those! She tried to stay calm. What did she know about dowsers? They could detect an Epic, they were exceedingly rare… Didn’t they display abilities too? Jacklyn wasn’t sure. Probably not, she decided, but if this Epic was bluffing, he wouldn’t know that, and if he wasn’t, it would be a reasonable mistake. “Doesn’t the dowser display the Epic’s power as well?” The prisoner tried to sound like a blend between innocent and skeptical, which her power let her pull off wonderfully. That was one of the only ways her power was actually useful, as opposed to harmful, like it had been earlier. Jacklyn picked up a drink and sipped it. She more control over the situation now. The small piece of her that was buried beneath caution and fear was actually starting to enjoy this.

Jacklyn thought quickly. She couldn’t really deny him, she couldn’t lie in an obvious way, and she certainly couldn’t tell him the truth, so she had to take a gamble. Quickly, she recalled what the pamphlet said about Epoch. She could point out that his name sounded a lot like Epic, but that was liable to get her killed. “Why do you assume I have powers?”

Probably not, or if so, only slightly. And remember, Taya wouldn't be corrupted, as it is motivators. Wait, does that mean Nighthound would be uncorrupted?
-
Are you asking me?
-
But he is forced to in this scenario or else he will not be able to do anything.
-
Maybe. I figure that they might work out an agreement where like they each get X amount of time before they switch.
-
I think at first it should be battling, but maybe they figure out they need to cooperate and so have a character arc.
-
Are we going with the dual-personality idea or just total take-over?
-
You could make a case for Shatterbird as well, based on her weakness and Shatterbird's insecurity.
-
Yes. Heartbreaker is an evil emotion manipulator crossed with Nighthound. Actually, I think if Jacklyn gets a permanent boost from a double enhancement she would be the most like Cherish.
-
No, I mean that if one of the two illusionists come into contact with the circuit, then their illusions will probably become reality.
-
Wait, circuit and illusionist = reality warping?
-
Got it.
-
Oath Epic.
-
Maybe Justice would be involved. Say, does @MacThorstenson know the RP started?
-
Maybe Nighthound being in Taya's body means he now swings both ways so he also somehow enslaves Quietus...
-
Yeah. What do you think will happen if they both get enslaved by Tayahound? That sounds like a ship... Epic ability activate! This is getting ridiculous at this point.
-
I almost didn't have Jacklyn run away. The other option was for her to edge backwards and be like "okay... now what?" EDIT: I probably would have done that if I knew Red's weakness or if I didn't have plans for Jacklyn to become a slave.
-
Actually, we were thinking that a double enhancer would give a small/medium permanent powerup.
-
Comatose, I can't find where Upgrade was introduced.
-
I like it!
-
So one faction, maybe two. My point stands. Also, Voidus, can you introduce upgrade?
