  1. Perhaps it was both. For all we know, they might be extremely strong windspren. That, or Dalinar was just looking for something to blame. The world may never know.
  2. Folgers Coffee. It's their slogan, with the same jingle having been used since the 80s. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Folgers is garbage coffee, though. If it weren't for the fact that their container make good compact composters, I'd never buy from them. The screeching is an in-joke from when their commercial broke my TV and it just screeched after the jingle.
  3. Fair enough, I suppose, but it's just a brand name.
  4. Karl Urban would be perfect for it. Recreate Dredd (good movie, for the record) but time, he's magic.
  5. Incorrect answer, Bean, old boy. Feel free to try again!
  6. Fill in the blank: The best part of waking up is ________ in your cup! *screeching*
  7. The stormwall had passed, true, but it hadn't been gone for long. Plus, it is very possible the wind inside a highstorm is enough to chuck the occasional boulder like that across a more plains-like area, such as the area that scene takes place in. Plains can whip up some nasty storms even on earth, much less a mega-storm environment where the majority of the flora and fauna have adapted to avoid something like that suggesting that the storm remains extremely strong in areas that aren't on the far coast, even enough to toss a boulder.
  8. Roshar is the Texas of the cosmere: everything is larger there. Admittedly, though, this is more than just an urban legend/American joke this time, aided by the growth benefits of Stormlight, the lesser gravity, the oxygen content being higher, and maybe some tinkering by Adonalsium.
  9. Welcome to the Shard! Word of advice, don't take the storming cookies. It's an Alleyverse (the RP section) joke and you can't trust anyone.
  10. The books necessary to answer that question are not written yet. Era 3 (the ones that are around 1980's level tech and will be coming out once Wax and Wayne is done, plus some extra time) will give a lot of material for that, according to Brandon. It does have something to do with the redshift and some other oddities with speed bubbles. Once Mistborn Era 4 comes around we'll all be good and all questions will be answered, if you can wait for around 20 years to find out.
  11. That would require quite the chunk of Investiture, plus the Heralds would probably have to all be perma-dead, but yeah, that would be kind of fun to see, and if anyone could, it would be Dalinar, merger of Realms.
  12. There was a WOB a while back (I'm really bad at finding them, and can't get ahold of this one), but Hemalurgic effects can be genetically passed on under the correct circumstances, in the same way as Rosharan eye and hair color, so theoretically, yes.
  13. "Ah, hello, people! Sorry about the delay, I was a little distracted." Malu shoots out from the back room and up to the counter. "A plate of donuts...I'm going to need a few more details there, we have many donuts. Jelly-filled, chocolate-filled, blueberry, plain, strawberry, you name it, we probably have it. As to tequila, I can get that for right away! The hiring business is a little more complex than just food, along with a small fee. I will need, in writing, your name, the difficulty of the job, payment details, ideal team member abilities/numbers, and ways to contact you. You can sit down and write it at one of the tables while you nurse your food and drink, or here at one of the barstools, if you so wish." Malu slides a sheet of paper across to you with a pencil on top. @Dr. Dapper "We have some of everything. Scadrian, Herdazian, Alethi, Nalthian, whatever you want, we have. Some of it is more expensive than others, of course, but none of it is too expensive for what it is! Our desserts are quite good, I must say, if you have a hankering for something sweet. Cake, cookies, pies, rolls, everything." @xinoehp512
  14. LET ME DREAM YOU CRUEL DREAMCRUSHER
  15. I didn't even notice you posted anything. My internet's been real bad lately, so not everything loads. My bad!
  16. You aren't kidding. Imagine if he gets stuff done fast enough to where he could cap off Wax and Wayne 4 and have it out towards the end of this year.
  17. How does he do this the way that he does? The third draft of Starsight is at 50% now, along with 40% on Stormlight 4. It's not even February yet! Is he just secretly a bendalloy Misting and writes in his bubbles or something? Is this even the right area for this? I have no idea!
  18. Yes we do, since some God Kings have had children after they retire. (The footnote is the important bit here)
  19. Yes, the Royal Locks are a manifestation of the sliver of Divine Breath within the royal line of Idris, so the Returned can have children, there's just a certain process to it we don't know. The priests do, though.
  20. They were always able to have children, albeit through a process different than normal that we don't know yet, but maybe now without that process. I doubt it, though, since it's a function of being Returned and Susebron is still Returned.
  21. I'm not a fan of the linear time theory. Multi-time-line theory is so much more fun. But yeah, probably not the place to have this debate.
  22. Tin Savant loses easily. Not a chance. My bad for misunderstanding, but either way, Bill Nye the Tineye Guy is dead.
  23. Not a chance against a Steelrunner, especially one with enough speed to break the sound barrier as we've seen before. They'd be on the ground instantly with that and getting shanked by the Steelrunner.
  24. Theoretically, yes, a Steelrunner could do what Vin did to Zane and react fast enough, but that's presuming they knew that they could do that. If they had F-Zinc, it would work nicely, but generally, the Seer is going to (while still burning atium) be able to counter everything a Steelrunner would do under normal circumstances. Extensive speed is an exception. Edit: Ninja'd
  25. When you're Awakening something, you're stuffing a soul into it and it's doing what you made that soul want to do. The breaths form the soul, there. Each person has their own soul already, so no, you cannot Awaken a living human being. The reason the immobilization happens is that's a lot of Investiture to take in all at once and it brings a whole host of new sensations with it (heightened senses, lifesense, and a feeling of health) that most people don't know how to deal with because it all hits you like a brick to the face.
