Guess That Cosmere Character! Forum Edition!
Ishar replied to Kidpen's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
It is probably Renarin. Fits all the clues. Views important person as father (Dalinar), given gift (Shardplate), male. The only thing I am less certain of is the quick to trust part. The only other person who I can think of that might be somewhere close is Sixth of the Dusk. Can't think of him getting a gift though. -

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

From a copyright discussion earlier, I am pretty sure the answer is no... I am sure my friend would be very happy though if he could get permission to sell this kind of thing. I will look into it. -

Granted, but you have to watch the entire thing. I wish somebody else to make a wish for me. -

Granted, but because of this the only thought that is capable of passing through your mind is "I am a stick" while the Void Bringer torture you until you begin to think "Am I a stick?" I wish for something new to replace "I am a stick" that the 17th shard can overly obsess about. -

Granted, but the beads are made of plastic and don't biodegrade, and they slowly fill up the oceans. I wish for plastic to be biodegradable. -
I don't know of a location where there is compiled, but you can definitely find a lot of this kind of thing in the Way of Kings from Dalinar and Kaladin. Elantris might have some interesting stuff from Raoden too.

So, I was talking with a friend, and she was saying that she thinks Adonalsium has to have a Cognitive Shadow somewhere in the Cosmere. She was convinced by a WOB were Brandon RAFO'd the question of "Does Adonalsium have a Cognitive Shadow in the Cosmere." My first response was doubt. To me it just didn't seem like something that would happen. She asked me why, and I mentioned that Cognitive Shadows were imprints of people's investiture that were left behind, really as an excuse out of an explanation. Looking through the WOB's on this topic, that is just the common in-world theory, and that cognitive shadows are super complicated. Either way, when I told my friend that she said that something with as much investiture as Adonalsium must have left behind a Cognitive Shadow, saying "Where did all that investiture go then?" to which I responded "What do you think the Shards are?" and then I realized... The Shards. What if the Shards are in fact Cognitive Shadows left behind by Adonalsium, or at least the Intents are. According to the Coppermind, a Nahel bond between a Cognitive Shadow and a person is possible, and what if the Vessels are bonding in some strange, or maybe simple, who knows, way with the Cognitive Shadows of Adonalsium. Please let me know your thoughts.

So, I am too lazy to read the entirety of what has been posted from this thread, but just of the original post, I personally thought Kingkiller Chronicles were the only books I have read that can compare to those of Brandon Sanderson ever. I really enjoyed them. Personally, I do think that the Cosmere has better books, but looking at it from a critical view, I am not sure I would want to see a Cosmere movie. It would be almost impossible to capture everything in any of the Cosmere books in a movie. Kingkiller lends itself to being adapted into a film much more. As Cosmere Films go, I think an interesting thing that could be done would be an Allomancer Jak TV show.

What is the best Sanderson book? (all, not just Cosmere)
Ishar replied to WayneSpren's topic in General Brandon Discussion
This is such a difficult choice. Each book is great in its own way. Personally, I can't pick a favorite, although there are a few I can say I didn't think were as good as the rest: Warbreaker: Not even sure why. Loved Nightblood though. Mistborn Era 2: I liked the Mistborn Era 1 vibe more. Something about the setting for this just isn't my thing. I love the characters though. They are awesome. Reckoners: The writing wasn't as good as Brandon's other books, and honestly, the plot for the books seemed very similar to Mistborn Era 1. Book 1: Kill evil unkillable tyrant. Book 2: Filler stuff, Introduce new characters who all die. Find out there is a more powerful evil force. Book 3: Kill/Defeat more powerful evil force. Reckoners seemed like a ripoff of Mistborn with lower writing quality and less world/plot/character development, as well as the final battle with Calamity was just lame. -

Hmm... with what I know about Ashspren there is a 90% chance it is Elend. Since somebody already guessed that, I am going to go with Spook. Changed my mind. Tindwyl. Final answer. -
For the record, the chull dung pickup line is very ineffective. Not to mention @Ashspren's timing is terrible.

Ironically, cause I accidentally made 2 posts, you can.

Words of Radiance: Edgedancer: Warbreaker: Elantris: Emperor's Soul: Sixth of the Dusk: Shadows for Silence in the Forest of Hell: It wouldn't let me do them all in one post. Sorry.

Awesomeness is just perspective, therefore, by your own perspective, you are awesome, nobody else thinks that though. I wish for a attribute for my hemalurgic pets to be able to take -

Granted, but everything else grows shorter so you always have to duck. I wish for a hemalurgic duck to be friends with my hemalurgic beaver. -
So... you say Trellium is a godmetal, but wouldn’t it be named after the shard, not the splinter? So if it really was Autonomy wouldn’t it be bavadinium or something? Also assuming that Trell is not a splinter, that would only leave one shard we don’t know the name of that we do know... Cultivation. Just saying. Probably not likely though.
