I was hoping Falcon would die and the game would keep going. Threads are so much easier to read when they're sans sheriff. Good game, all! Especially the elims who carried on without me. We nearly achieved our goal. And besides stealing Meerkat's salmon we also nearly won the game! But that's secondary. Thanks to the GMs, IM. I had fun.

I don't understand what's happening and I'm worried that a reaction test left unrevealed too long will lead to my accidental exe, so I request that the plan be disclosed now. I feel like I've left it long enough to attract the votes we need to analyze. If I am exed accidentally, I blame the alleged Seeker. If I should die for inane reasons, I guess this is see you later. -Obligator

In other news, we have a new Tineye! It looks like three three letter words, but the part I've highlighted is throwing me. I'm guessing this is a Mistborn, and suspect Meerkat would have written something more verbose. Praise The Lord Ruler!

My question would be, why not go buzzsaw mode if you have two kills available as an elim team? Meerkat would have died far earlier if the Spiked had that much ability to sieze control of the thread. I can't remember if this is a game where mistborns reroll repeats or not, but I think the likelihood of rolling Thug twice in a row is low. Praise The Lord Ruler!

You let Cham off really easily. And then abandoned the results of your data collection, which sunk cost fallacy would usually prevent. You then said Lion would be a good info flip, which is weak reasoning. These insights are courtesy of The Lord Ruler and his infinite wisdom!

Subjects of The Lord Ruler, we're playing the game wrong. We can only exe Smokers. If we don't exe Smokers, they refuse to die and we lose At the risk of exposing my well-guarded identity, I just finished watching an excellent hockey game and intend to revel in that for a bit. I'd like to question Weasel's comments from that because they seemed weird. But I'll get to that later. You've been warned!

That's a funny reason to vote for someone. What's your suspicion of me about?

You're basically saying that regardless of what they claim, you'd like to judge them on their merits rather than on their role. So why aren't you doing that? This is dominating the discussion about them when it really shouldn't be. There was a village Lurcher, so we know villagers can have protection roles. Lurchers sometimes protect themselves because they know they're village (and don't know the alignment of the coinshot), and Thugs can't help it. They've declined to answer, so it's time to change your line of inquiry to a more productive one. Weasel is stalling and at this point I'd rather Lion was the second wagon instead of Flamingo. Edit: Praise TLR! Edit 2: The non voters D1 are about the same sized pool as the uncleared voters D1 based on Meerkat's reads, but I imagine there's an even mix between the two if it's an inactive elim team. I don't see a good pool to narrow them down from, besides hoping most of them voted, but there's no good reason to believe that. I'd rather go after voters, but I think it'd be a mistake to then discount non voters because maybe it skews that way. I don't think it's a good starting point as a POE due to lack of information

The top three wagons were against villagers (as they kindly let us know in part by killing Dingo). They could be anywhere, so I'm confused why you're asking this question. As for Dragonfly, you're making an argument I've erroneously made before about Mat, because he likes to lurk near rollover and will post a random comment because lurking but acknowledging it is slightly less suspicious than lurking and saying nothing. I also generally have a village read of people who make ties at rollover for the fun of it. So I'm hesitant about this take. Why are this vote and a fancy watch similar? They're both role-exes. That joke needs workshopping, but I wanted to remind you that a villager with a protection role already flipped so it's a bad assumption to make that they're exclusively in the hands of the Spiked. Just like assuming The Lord Ruler is gone is a bad assumption. I'm sure he'll return any day now

Swan Weasel The Tineye thing is intriguing but I want your exe candidates more This is a stronger argument than a role-exe. Speaking of Flamingo, I wanted to see if there was any reaction to the pressure brought against them yesterday and it's kind of meh. My working assumption is that the vote manip off Falcon was elim misdirection. They needed one more Heron vote to be genuinely safe, so I’m giving them village credit for the closeness of the vote. Looking at the D2 votes, I noticed an interesting early pileup of Dragonfly and Albatross on Weasel. (Read: not ee-e because of its stability) This remains fairly stable (and as the lead/tied lead) for a while, with the Heron CW coming from villager movement. (I’m reading Meerkat as village). Eventually that becomes: It’s notable that Flamingo didn’t smack a vote onto Weasel or Heron, and instead went onto Swan. It’s bugging me that the Weasel vote was so stable. The wagons ebb and flow around it but no one ever adds to the Weasel train. If I take that as a sign of e!Weasel it also points to teammate!Flamingo. The Rhino wagon that emerges looks like the product of villagers so I don’t think it’s consequential. I’d also like to point a finger at Ostrich for casting a vanity vote in a situation where Heron’s death is fairly assured. Making a teammate’s 2 vote wagon into 3 is too risky, so they start one on what I think is a villager. Elephant pulls a similar move later in the round, which is also odd in a game where vote manip is a threat. Anyway, if you guess we got any traction against the elims D2, especially Flamingo or Weasel, the Heron wagon would seem to be a good place to find elims as well. Scorpion and Chameleon stand out there. I’m less interested in the Falcon wagon because it’s unnecessary when v!Heron is gonna eat the exe.

I'm guessing the evil Tineye is American because they used Spanish. By the way, I got a clear denial from Rhino that they were the 'hi' Tineye yesterday. I find elim impersonating a better explanation than them outing themselves for no reason - at that point you just don't submit the message at all. There was a few declarations of busyness last Night that can be used to tenantively cross off people who wouldn't have time to do those colors. If whoever protected Flamingo (including themself if that's the case) wants to claim it, I'll give them a free clear since there's too many bodies to make wasting NKs on a WGG worth it. Edit: curse The Lord Ruler, ignore that OK now Swan what're you doing mate. I don't understand why you're so convinced we're convinced you're village

It took me a minute to realize you saying complacency means not caring about the outcome. Not not voting. Interestingly the wording emphasizes your potentially flawed underlying assumption that the elims voted - but I'm happy to make that assumption because otherwise it's a boring game. A Rioter voting on Heron could drop their vote, and move a Heron vote to Falcon, turning H6:F5 into H4:F6. A Soothe doesn't solve that, although it would guard against a Rioter hitting a Smoked target and only dropping their own vote. May The Lord Ruler's blessings fall upon you for this lovely post. You should be able to check for vote shifts due to pressure but that's a project for later. This principle applies to fake Nighttime votes too? I have thoughts about Night voting but I'm not gonna stand in its way

Clearly they deserved it for having that role! I'm mildly curious which vote was moved if Heron was Smoking. It's also interesting that the vote wasn't a significant one. Was it insurance or misdirection? Village Heron is annoying so I need to reconsider some things. Like you all need to reconsider not accepting The Lord Ruler as your god.

As The Lord Ruler becomes TLR, a long post becomes shorter due to time constraints! -Rhino's non answer is noted. -Heron used the reasons I wanted to vote for Mouse D1 to justify voting someone else, then didn't switch to Mouse when I offered it. That feels teamed of them. -I thought I'd voted Mouse. Guess I didn't. -I don't like the Falcon wagon. They had a solid D1

I had a great New Years Eve, which means I've had a terrible New Years Day. :P. Unfortunately, I'm tight for time right now so this will be quick: -Mouse Heron I actually think they might be teamed, but I'm not going to focus on Mouse anymore until we see what Heron flips. -Plum Rhino didn't comment on the Tineye message. I'd expect a villager to express their surprise about it. Rhino, are you the Tineye? -Tonally, I felt Swan's PM felt overly confident that they would/deserved to be trusted. I don't think I was being double teamed in that PM though, so I'm not sure what to make of it. -Flamingo's D1 vote retraction that wasn't a retraction seemed to be more about RP appreciation, and as everyone knows, I hate RP and refuse to engage with it. :P. Praise The Lord Ruler!

The Lord Ruler taught me to suspect animosity more than I expect kindness. So, I’ve created this reads list where I argue why everyone is evil. It’s ordered from most to least likely to be Spiked though. It also only covers D1 posts because it was made over several sittings, and I didn’t want to keep having to update it to reflect new content. I invite everyone to refute my arguments as best as they can. --Azure Mouse: Deflected my question about what was consuming their focus in the early stages of the game by suggesting they could have been parsing the roleplay, but when asked to provide receipts, they had little to show for it. Implied RL made them busy, but has yet to explain why they implied they had in-game things to organize. -- Mint Heron: To introduce their Iguana vote, they used similar (copied!) reasoning to my push against Mouse but declined to vote with me on Mouse. They proactively undermine the quality of their vote to excuse its alleged weakness. -- Sapphire Elephant: Felt self-conscious pressure to explain exactly how they randomly chose their initial poke target. Deflected poke votes by stating their alleged policy to not interact with them. Took the time to figure out who hadn’t posted yet, which feels more like the by-product of elim activity than work a villager would set out to do. Regularly drops unprompted role advice to manipulate the masses. --Indigo Weasel: Invites PMs to build their trust network, then declares PMing to be NAI to avoid scrutiny of their own behavior. Votes on Dingo for an arbitrary reason and emphasizes that it isn’t grounded in suspicion in order to justify its stickiness. --Onyx Flamingo: Pokes the soft target of inactive Penguin, then backtracks without actually removing their vote. By undermining themselves, they reveal that their vote lacks intention. -- Magenta Albatross: Made a nonsense post and wasn’t going to contribute more until they were pinged, which caused them to overcompensate by dumping a bunch of reads. Even if they had that post in the works already, why did they make the initial ‘eep eep’ post? The reads dump was also prompted by the elim team yelling at them to say something meaningful to establish a presence. New Albatross, I recognize that this is hard to respond to, so feel free to just say if you agree with the reads they dropped. -- Fuchsia Ostrich: Publicly announced they would PM everyone, which seeks to normalize their intentional spidering. Has used our PM exclusively for roleplay, which reveals a lack of game solving intention. -- Sunburst Toucan: Weirdly announced that they’d been receiving PMs. Too easily persuaded to change from voting Scorpion to Iguana and didn’t add much to justify that vote. --Amethyst Scorpion: Two hours after Elephant pinged the inactives, Scorpion appeared and cast a sticky, naked vote on Penguin, which responds to the pressure in an intentionally unengaging way, since Penguin was a fellow inactive. Reactive + hypocritical = evil. -- Pearl Chameleon: Publicly announced they would PM everyone, which seeks to normalize their intentional spidering. Didn’t follow through, which reveals that they were drunk on both horneater white and the ambition of receiving the elim alignment. Maintained a sticky, unjustified poke vote. --Coral Swan: Cast a naked, sticky poke vote and called it a Day. -- Plum Rhinoceros: Filter dodging. --Opal Lion: Has yet to contribute analysis. --Chartreuse Penguin: Has yet to contribute analysis. --Cream Tuatara: Expresses inclination to vote for its own sake. Discounts potential village reads from mass PMer pool, which avoids narrowing the mix pool. -- Salmon Meerkat: Parks vote on a side train. Concedes control of the voting to the Americans instead of pushing consolidation. -- Charcoal Hyena: Votes Cham for confidently village reading me, when I am clearly a villager. Tried to poison the pool of people who sent everyone PMs by focussing on the possibility of there being elims among them instead of their likelihood of being village. Votes Kangaroo for crusading reasons. --Ivory Dragonfly: Casts a late vote without much justification, sidestepping the whole consensus through discussion process the game is based on. -- Emerald Falcon: agues that multiple elim PM spiders is unlikely because they might be prone to slip ups because they forget the source of their intel. That’s one of the weaker reasons for that, but one a current elim would be thinking about.

I know that one! Maybe they didn't realize the kills were differentiated and were trying to obfuscate which one was theirs? Having witnessed The Lord Ruler's clever trickery around his perported death, I am aware that such shenanigans are possible. I'm going to trust that the GMs and IM are working behind the scenes on the concerns raised last Night and suggest we move on from them.

The AN format encourages experimentation with new playstyles. SE meta also discourages persecution on the basis of playstyle, because that applies out-of-game reasons for in-game decisions and leads to the same people being exed repeatedly for bad reasons. I think Weasel was out of line for framing their vote as being because Dingo's playstyle 'annoyed' them. You could argue that not having a reasonable justification is a tell, but because in practice, votes cast on the basis of playstyle are usually NAI, it's better to treat that rationale as uninformative and unwelcome than to engage with it further. @Elbereth

Looks like no vote manipulation, but we know that The Lord Ruler had endowed it to at least one person. A one-manip distro seems unlikely. @Sage Kangaroo can you talk us through what you were thinking near rollover? Were you working on a post when time ran out? Let us know what you think about Dingo. Was their self preservation a sign of evilness or was their vulnerable position the type only villagers end up in?

I'll trust your revision of my stated narrative. I mentioned Falcon's approach because it was on my mind after deleting the leftover PMs from it at the start of the game. Foolish animals, they should have known that anything not written in metal can be purged. What's wrong with promoting some soft village clears? May The Lord Ruler bless you with health! Edit @Magenta Albatross pretend you're on the evil team. Would you make PMs with everyone if one of your teammates was already doing it?
