Alright, here we go. Night One Iguana musn't have been very engaged if they could have saved themselves but didn't. Toucan commenting on E!Dingo = V!Dragonfly and E/E Dingo/ (Mouse or Penguin) seems villagery in light of the Dingo Spiked Kill. Not sure what to think about the Swan ask for Lurcher protection  Day Two Interesting that there's a trigger happy Coinshot on the loose  Muses about Spiked Mistborn. Dingo seems an odd choice for the Spiked kill though... Perhaps they put more credence in the village reads players were given rather than the collection of votes that had tied Dingo for execution. And 3 tineyes/mistborn. Interesting. Slight village read on Croc's list of reads. Getting bad vibes from Rhino. Appreciates Toucan for explaining the RP. If it helps, I may have mentioned all of these things in the signup thread if there were a signup thread, as a matter of gameplay things that I care about (PM safety), or things I've seen go wrong before (Smokers in AGs). Fully admit they were easy to quickly post without commenting on thread, because I didn't have the time/energy the last few days to do that, but those were important enough to make the effort to post. Trying to be a bit more on top of being active in thread from now. Notes Tuatara opting to tie things in defense of Weasel. Though they did speak of Weasel potentially being framed. Going to continue to keep an eye out here I think. Well possibly I didn't need to do my votes break down, if Dragonfly and Lion had already done similar. But then that was mostly for me to get my thoughts in order. Penguin, any chance of getting that reads list you promised? Oh, nevermind, you posted them eventually. Enjoying Meerkat's posts, but not sure if I'm getting a vibe off them. Tuatara again with the tie. Goes looking for Alv posts to compare for style. Continuing to feel weird about Rhino following people to votes. Confused by Croc's unvoting of the vote they never placed on Mouse... Takes Heron to 4 vs Weasel/Rhino/Dragonfly at 2. Mouse follows on to Heron, taking Rhino out of the running. Ostrich prompts a change of votes to make Falcon a rival to Heron, Rhino once again following Tuatara. Really not sure how I feel about this last minute voting. Need to look back at Heron vs Falcon specifically I think. Will post this now and try and vote soon. Vote Tally (Detailed) (1) Chameleon: Swan {1} (6) Heron: Meerkat {1}, Tuatara {1}, Meerkat {4}, Scorpion {1}, Chameleon {1}, Meerkat {6}, Crocodile {1}, Mouse {2}, Dragonfly {2} (1) Weasel: Dragonfly {1}, Albatross {1} (0) Elephant: Toucan {1} (1) Flamingo: Meerkat {2}, Rhino {1}, Rhino {3}, Heron {1}, Tuatara {2}, Hyena {1} (1) Rhino: Meerkat {3}, Rhino {2}, Mouse {1}, Toucan {2} (3) Falcon: Meerkat {5}, Ostrich {1}, Tuatara {4}, Hyena {2}, Rhino {5} (1) Swan: Flamingo {1} (0) Dragonfly: Tuatara {3}, Rhino {4} Vote Tally (6) Heron: Scorpion {1}, Chameleon {1}, Meerkat {6}, Crocodile {1}, Mouse {2}, Dragonfly {2} (3) Falcon: Ostrich {1}, Tuatara {4}, Rhino {5} (1) Chameleon: Swan {1} (1) Weasel: Albatross {1} (1) Flamingo: Heron {1} (1) Rhino: Toucan {2} (1) Swan: Flamingo {1} (Notes everyone has posted at least once this turn)

Been slowly trying to get into gear, so been working through last cycle's posts. Initial vibes being feeling positive about Tuatara and Falcon. Liked also this post from Dingo. As much I do love the RP, I'm finding it hard to process what people are trying to communicate with it, so I don't know if that's interfering with reading vibes. There was a remarkable lack of vote tallies, and the progression of votes did maybe feel a bit weird. Going to poke around that for a second I think. ... This is the tally of the first 12 hours of Day 1, all just random poke votes. Croc's move from Tuatara to Rhino at just under 14 hours in marks the first vote with some basis attached. Swan opts for a poke vote at 20 hours in, while Weasel's distaste for right aligned text prompts the first vote to take someone's tally to two, at 23 hours in. At just under 24 hours, Tuatara shifts their poke become serious vote from me onto Hyena, tying them with Dingo, for complaining about no game discussion in thread without contributing any. Scorpion appears giving a quite late poke vote on a new candidate at 26 hours in/22 hours remaining. At 20 hours remaining, Falcon votes Dragonfly for poke voting and then not referring back to it in later posts. At 19 hours in, Flamingo appears and poke votes Penguin for inactivity. Leaves us with a 3 way tie between Hyena, Dingo, and Penguin, with Penguin a result of two late arrivals with just poke votes. At 18 hours remaining, Meerkat moves Hyena, putting Hyena in the lead. At 16 hours, Heron votes Iguana for the comment about the new thread being a "crazy situation". Dingo gives us our first vote tally as they vote for Chameleon for the mismatch between their claims of PMing everyone versus actually responding to Dingo's PMs, doing this at 15 hours remaining. After the vote tally, at 13 hours remaining, Meerkat moves their vote to Heron due to their defensiveness in their vote, intentionally tying up Hyena, Dingo, and Penguin again. At 10 hours remaining, Croc moves to Mouse for deflecting from answering Croc's question, creating a 4 way tie. At 7 hours to go, Hyena is uncomfortable with the suggested early "hard" clear of someone by Tuatara. At 6 hours, Toucan makes a 5 way tie by voting on Scorpion, although it's pointed out they seemed to be referring to Iguana, to whom they change their vote to within 20 minutes, but essentially agreeing with Heron's suspicion. Still creates a 5 way tie. At 5.5 hours, Hyena reluctantly retracts from Tuatara, seeming confused, before at 5 hours remaining proposes Kangaroo for lurking. At 3.5 hours remaining, Tuatara removes Hyena from the 5 way tie to propose Flamingo as a new candidate without reason until prompted by Hyena - for the different ways in which they talk about Penguin. 7 minutes before the end of cycle, Crocodile moves from Mouse to Kangaroo, maintaining a 4 way tie. 4 minutes before the end of cycle, Dingo moves Chameleon to Iguana being uncomfortable with the vote, choosing Iguana for lack of involvement though they're online - this puts Iguana in the lead. 1 minute before the end of cycle, Dragonfly ties up Iguana with Dingo, for Dingo "posting a lot with little substance". Final Tally I guess based on all that: sus on Dragonfly for the last vote, although it's not like it was to save a buddy as it didn't save Iguana, and Iguana was village. Also, Dingo we've also found to be village. So it's weird, but I do find it hard to think why an elim might take that move... Sus on Scorp, or possibly more Flamingo for the lateish poke vote that put Penguin in contention for much of the cycle. Eyeing the late move from Croc to shift Kangaroo to the danger zone over Mouse. Will need to think on that further/come back to it. Also eyeing Toucan for the 5 way tie. I do like ties, but setting up a 5 way at 6 hours? There's got to be a limit somewhere, right? So I guess reads are: Slight village: Tuatara, Falcon Undecided: Meerkat Watching Closely: Croc, Toucan, Slight elim: Dragonfly, Scorp, Flamingo I still need to do a reread of Night 1 for game relevant discussion, and I've only done a cursory read of this cycle. But posting it this now before I go work on that. ... A sharp breeze stirred Ciril awake again, causing a jerk that resulted in him tumbling over the banister that he'd somehow been balanced on while sleeping, crashing painfully down the stairs. "How...?" He shook his head. After he collected himself, he figured he may as well get to what seemed the new day. A short walk to a cafe, he ordered some toast and fruit and sat down with the daily paper. As he started to read, he took out some charcoal and started making annotations. By the time his breakfast came, he was laying slumped over the now heavily annotated paper, heavily asleep.

Sprawled across the top of tabletop at the local inn, Ciril's regular deep regular breathing caught for a moment as he shifted, before settling back to rest. ... Sorry folks, found it hard to focus yesterday. Just in briefly to give a gentle reminder to be cautious of what you share in PMs. Small hints about roles in isolation might not be that dangerous, but can be quite so in aggregate. And elims are much better able to aggregate such details if they have multiple active PMers. And that goes for the roleless even more so than those with roles. Being free with your rolelessness effects the privacy of those with roles.

Ciril nodded awake again, finding himself leaning against post out the front of a paper store. "Wha..?" A fellow of obvious Terris heritage had been about to tap him on the shoulder again with an apologetic look. "Hmm? Oh, that. I'd meant to respond, but I was remote at the time and couldn't quite figure out how to express myself as myself from a distance, you see?" Stretching, he continued on. "To answer your question, there's not much to say is there? I make it a matter of policy to not respond to threats given without basis, unless perhaps directly asked for comment on some matter of import." With a yawn, he walked to sit on a nearby bench. "But neither here nor there have I yet been asked a question on anything of any relevance to..." zzz ... For clarity, I wanted to RP a response but mobile isn't well suited that. And it is my policy to ignore votes unless directly asked for a response. Which has to sort of suffice as a response to your question for comment on your poke voting me as you've not asked anything else of relevance. It looks like everyone has posted at least once, except for @Amethyst Scorpion, @Chartreuse Penguin, and @Magenta Albatross, each of whom appear to have been online since the start of the game. Figured I'd comment on the nature of Smokers, seeing as I'm pretty sure opinions on whether Smokers should keep their field active or not has varied. In my opinion, keep it on. If this is a vote manip heavy game, better I think to keep your vote fixed. The only way not smoking benefits the village is if there's a village seeker and an spiked smoker. But even in that situation there are ways around that, we shouldn't rely on the seeker to solve the game for us, and I reckon having individuals whose vote cannot be shifted by spiked vote manip is much more valuable than any potential gain from a village seeker Seeking a unsmoked smoker verse a smoked smoker.

Ciril Yuanivori's eyes blinked away. And then immediately shut them again as the light from the low sun streamed in through the nearby window. He groaned, turning over and sticking his pillow over his head to hide from the sun. Fifteen more minutes would be okay before having to get up, he figured, though it'd be nice if people stopped shouting so loudly. He guessed that's probably what had woken him. After a time, he finally resolved to get up. Figured he may as well work out what the fuss had been about. The sun wasn't a problem anymore. Although... didn't his window give him a view of the sunset!? He sat right up. "It's evening? But my appointments!? Why didn't I get woken?!". Quickly he got up and stormed out to find out what was going on. ... Hey you at the other side of the player list. Yes you. Who are you, Amethyst Scorpion? @Amethyst Scorpion

Anniversary Game 8 / AN11: Back to Beginnings
Sapphire Elephant replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wow, well...that was a really good game. I, for one, had forgotten how much time it takes to participate in any kind of LG, especially an AG, but thankfully the village pulled through despite it. I'm guessing everyone knows this already, but I was the Tineye Mistborn message on the first night. If there was one regret concerning this game I have beyond not being active, it would be not RP'ing Tersin Wersin's rhymey market antics. If anyone has seen this video, it's the source of my favorite meme template. In honor of my low activity, here's my one meme-tribute to the aftermath thread. I had rolled Coinshot on N2 and N6, and forgot to put in my action both nights. At the time of N6, I thought Heron was an elim and told Penguin and Meerkat I would put in my action on them, but then ended up forgetting until right after rollover. -
Anniversary Game 8 / AN11: Back to Beginnings

Welp, I'm dumb. Whenever I read through I cycle I tend to pick out names and try to count how many times people have said they're suspicious. I tend to forget all other details, especially if that's the only couple of things I'm trying to remember in the first place. Thusly, I skimmed over the fact that Beagle is, in fact, already dead. And given that I don't really know why Axolotl is getting votes, and their defense looks reasonable, I'm retracting my vote until further details come to light. Axolotl -

I just skimmed the current day cycle, and I guess it's time to hop on the Axolotl vote for now. After quickly going over the reads of everyone else, I'm also reserving "suspicions" of Beagle, Mouse, and Dingo, though I'm not actually sure enough about any of it that I'm legitimately suspicious. I'll try to take the time today, probably after the cycle ends, to consolidate what I read and make a decision on who to be suspicious about from there. I'll end up claiming later today if I remember to, if that helps clear my v!read/my name. Though, given that I've forgotten to put in my actions for almost every cycle, I don't know how much a roleclaim would really help. -
Anniversary Game 8 / AN11: Back to Beginnings
Sapphire Elephant replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I can’t believe it I was given a duty, and I dropped the ball. However, tardiness is better than inaction entirely. (Is that how the saying goes? Maybe it goes differently.) Anyway, I forgot to take my action last night, so now we’ve got to vote Heron with Meerkat now among those in the dead doc. -

Ok, so I know I should be doing both of those things, but I just finished reading through half of D6 and N6 (this thread) and haven't come up with much. Penguin and Meerkat are definitely village hard-clears (and it seems like everyone's in consensus on that), and since I'm really bad at making reads I'm just trying to analyze other people's reads and see what makes the most sense. So far I like the argument Meerkat made for elim!Heron (and I guess elim!Alb after that, but the reads for elim!Alb are spread across more posts and the only reason I'm hanging on to it is because it's the (I think) second-most popular elim read here). So Heron it is. As for team-comp, I have no idea. If I were to guess, it'd be less than helpful. -

Sapphire Elephant replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I don't know why I keep saying that I'll go back over the previous cycles and analyze them, because I keep putting it off. I don't think there's much I could help with in the way of analysis anyway, but it shouldn't hurt to try at some point. (And to start posting for reasons other than to dodge the inactivity filter; that is also a noble goal which I seek to accomplish) Here's a vote count for your troubles: Heron (2): Albatross, Meerkat Albatross (1): Beagle Rhinoceros (1): Ostrich, Zebra Beagle: Penguin, Ostrich -
Anniversary Game 8 / AN11: Back to Beginnings
Sapphire Elephant replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It appears that, due to my own procrastination and general low skill level of analysis, I now have 35+ pages to read through and analyze. And if we really dive into finding the next elim, there might be another 4 pages before the end of the day. I guess I'll get on that. Comments: super exciting what I've read so far; I missed the majority of last Night and Day so I don't have the "prequels," so to speak, of this Day. What happened today will reverberate into the future of SE (presumably; I just wanted to say something melodramatic, but I also think that it's true)--and, in the meantime, we have another 4.5 hours to find another elim. Thanks for everyone's patience with us inactives. ---------------------------------------- Tersin Worsin walked through the half-empty streets, pondering the koloss just outsides the town walls. He had been managing his family shop, "Worsin's Citizen Fixin's," and after a few days he finally realized something was different about the town. Not only were there distant koloss outside, and people within plotting to sabotage the town's only chance at survival...well, actually, that was the main thing. That was quite the concern. It really just hadn't occured to Tersin that the koloss would really stand a chance against them. Didn't Tyrian Falls have siege engines? And tunnels, that weren't tall enough for koloss to walk in? Maybe...that wouldn't be enough, if the town ended up sabotaged sufficiently. It was a thought. A thought that impelled him to keep walking, to find some of his business contacts and ask them for advice, and hope to team up before it was too late. Additionally, if he helped in some way rather than staying holed up in his shop, maybe he could learn a thing or two for the future upkeep of his store. Maybe this new "economics" and "marketing" thing he had heard about, so many weeks ago. -

Sapphire Elephant replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Glad to see we got an Elim by cycle 2. I haven't looked very hard at distro speculation, but now that we have a seed to work with and plenty of posts in the past, we have a chance to find an elim or two before the next vote comes up. -
Anniversary Game 8 / AN11: Back to Beginnings
Sapphire Elephant replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ok, I'm intending to get more active after this round, but I've been really bad at staying on task this week. I've got something I need to finish for another half hour, and then I'll hop in for some genuine posting if the round doesn't close in ten minutes. I'm full well expecting it to close in less than ten minutes, however. I haven't PMed anyone, so if anyone's claimed getting a PM before next round, they're bluffing. Not that anyone would claim receiving a message from someone so inactive, but I can always hedge my bets. -

Let's see here...*steeples fingers, cracks knuckles, puts hand on chin* *tries to think of other ways to indicate readiness for action using hands* I forgot to post last cycle and, for the last five minutes, have been reading through the past couple of cycles trying to catch up. I haven't caught up quite yet, though, so any analysis will be forthcoming. Publicly, though, I'd like to ask (if it hasn't been clarified already) -- are PM's only meant to be 1-on-1 messages, or can we open up small group PM's? If it's possible I don't know if I'll end up actually opening a group PM, but I'd like to know regardless. The write-ups have been fantastic so far. -
