AN12 - Night One: Apologize to Ironeyes
Mint Heron replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
hooooooly hell we freakin did it wtf holy hell i legit did not expect this sort of mcfreakin' shite hoooooooly harmony we made it wtf im just gonna like sit and process how we got here -
I will say I am ok with Kanga but that's off their general thread position & ironically for reasons opposite croc. But to confirm, in tie world what are the proposes train sizes/configs we are looking at achieving? EDIT: @A Jo in the Bush I am so sorry my almighty god gm do u got a count for me my brain cannot
-
Simply put; if I know I'm a regular, and it's a possibly V!Lurcher on the other end, better I get exed than they do. Don't roleclear but a Lurcher never needs to be resolved D1 of all Turns unless they're obviously Evil and the post claim reads like E stalling. Obviously I prefer a third train on someone I find sus but the second best option for the Village is for me to get exed and buy the village the time to get their crem together/make a good Lurch. I acknowledge some players value survival more but that's how I see it. Tie proposal, no objection if ok with train and sizes are ok, am not sure I sus Weasel - can I v quickly ask for your Weasel case.
-
They quoted Weasel's post with just the word Iron as the last line. I'd say go to the OG post rather than read a quote because quotes of quotes dp not show up. Edit: Hope this works. This is what I see. This is my proclamation Echo Metal 11 hours ago, Indigo Weasel said: Iron Not formatted but they chose to include it.
-
Ninjaed by Dingo so c/p time. Edit: @Taupe Gecko Apologies speed read a bit. Basically yes - if I'm a regular, my instinct is to ask for third train or to eat the exe. Unless I am very sure DF is Evil claiming to stay alive longer, normally a Lurcher is not the most pressing D1 problem. If I'm a very valuable PR, keeping quiet and self-pressing in the hopes I stay alive... is *a* strategy, there's some risk, but at these train sizes and the votestate, staying alive by claiming is usually preferable since it forces the Elims to kill you and minimally creates reactions in thread that people can go back to read. (This is my other hesitation - I think more often than not Elims can struggle to hardpush a Village PR knowing they're screwed once the PR flips. Of course playstyle confounds this but for want of a better word, sincere dogmatic village fog-of-war can be hard to imitate confidently as an Elim - that's helpful too. So do I read Axl's soft push here as V or E? I am thinking aloud in part. It sticks out in my brain, I just DK if I feel confident of my thoughts and am looking for SAN checks.)

@Taupe Gecko - hard to quote longposts on mobile sorry, post linked here. Gimmick is echoing people's words, they seem to be claiming Iron i.e. Mistborn or Lurcher. Look at the last four lines. My proclamation (statement) Echo (name, gimmick) Metal Iron This looks like a direct roleclaim to me. Axl's behaviour here is confusing me as a result. (If I've managed to confuse myself about what Iron does this is going to be so embarrassing...) @Oxblood Beagle - Depends on your assessment of train sizes. I don't object to a Kanga train at current credences, need to reread (back in 15), mostly don't want a weird scenario where the actual CW is DF unless we all consciously agree this is the route we want to take given the claim and suspicion states atm.

Am I legit tripping or has the meta changed this much since the last time I played a forum mafia game that a doctor claim is not actually being factored into assessments of the merits of the votestate? Like I get it since if DF is self-pressing on Axl, that's a Axl goes over world, it's just also kind of close given Rioting and it's weirding me out that I seem to be the only bird going "Hey, should we be sleepwalking into this?" Why are we considering D1ing a doctor? Genuinely, am I crazy now? Have I walked into ersatz world? Am I so sleep-deprived my brain isn't working anymore? I @ Weasel mostly because I wanted a sanity check and all I'm feeling is increasingly insane at this point. (I guess this is more induced by reading the most recent posts, esp. Flamingo, Axl, Dingo, because rn if we do not want to exe Axl, we are left with the closest CW being DF (!!!!) unless we agree on a CW to avoid this, e.g. Kanga.) Fair catch. Not really. They're better off when you can read where the votes are going but in terms of raw results, not particularly. Ok but... ....Something I'm trying to work out. Does E!Axl self-pres on a claimed V!Lurcher? (In the world they're E/E, do they just pres on each other like this? Kind of have to, right, but I am also a bit unsure given that the claim from DF in that world feels unforced.) Between the two of them I lean better on DF, I just don't know how I feel about two factors: -It's a self-admitted raw self-pres vote from Axl ( @Oxblood Beagle I note that Axl also did state slight Elim vibes so minimally they're hedgy on how they feel about it) -Axl is very much okay staying alive and endangering a claimed Lurcher to do it - is Axl this confident about that E!read? Maybe I'm less confident than most, but there are worlds V!me hesitates to do this and either eats the exe or just begs for a third train and whatever happens happens. IDK this works with Axl's claimed confidence levels. -If Axl is a major village PR and can't be back, is this not the place to claim? Why isn't Axl claiming against DF in self-pressing? (These are Axl-exclusive questions, I've already broken my brain trying to work out DF in a separate post begging for a SAN check.) I've re-read the rules and finally internalised that this setting has kandra (wtf) as a separate Forger type role rather than, IDK, cosmetic stuff. I don't know how this interfaces with my reasoning here since this requires a lot of assumptions about the game's distro so I'm just not touching it at this point; I just don't remotely want us to be relying on the idea a Village kandra will get it so we're fine because there may not be one, among other scenarios.

K. If so do you feel worth pivot to Axl or Kanga? Full disclaimer I'm running on no sleep atm so a lot of things may not be correct math etc-wise. Ig moved off Kanga. IDK if DF is voting or taken as voting. ( @The Unknown Medallion vc pls?) I guess if they are everyone's fine. If not, then I'm trying to work out if there's a pragmatic arg for going Axl or Kanga based on "if V!PR we make the Elims kill them or get one or two nights of protects off." Aware that Lurcher is easiest fakeclaim + if E!PR, we technically have to kill them anyway, though E!Lurcher is usually a detriment to the team due to how Tyrian actions economy works. Dunno. Know an Elim might just claim too, can't parse their tone but do not want Village sleepwalking into a Lurcher exe like last AG w/out thinking it through.

i get this but i prefer to begin by voting people i think are suspicious. there's a d1 accuracy debate here but by focusing on a trait that doesn't care about alignment, only the kind of villager you'd prefer dead, you're already conceding the field unnecessarily because you aren't elim hunting, just removing people that, to be blunt, irritate you. i've also more or less stated my views in one of my megaposts, probably #2: i specifically v!lean DF because of their second post and slight/semi mindmeld and have a grudging v!lean on ocho. i dislike flamingo catch-up hunting and don't like kanga activity farming. there's someone i voted and clashed with over rng i need to go back and look. idk i can ascribe much of a read there - they're very confident which i'd like to v!read given the context of their claims but their tone has certain indicators that point to thos confidence being NAI. i have a weak positive read of zebra which will sound incredibly perverse but boils down to zebra having a very weird line of thought that, combined with their opener, i take to be more likely to come from a villager. ele - trying to decide how i feel about ele's response. agree with the avoid notice argument, not sure about consistency with meerkat, reluctance to give a view on df makes me think not e/e. violet is pretty simple given my df and ocho priors - at the time i wrote my post, the guy before me ninjaed me so i was working on the assumption it'd create a three way tie with ample time in the cycle to see how people reacted/voted. i felt axl had a vote that read a little potentially opportunistic on kanga (doubled up on ig.) croc was the other option but uh we kinda d1 the croc ac a lot and i don't share zebra's croc read atp. probably forgetting something but referencing my earlier posts is a nuisance on mobile so i'm just going to have to live free of the shackles of the past like that ariana grande song and rp/check later. edit: to clarify i don't have any bloody clue who anyone is i mean the actual mauve croc account gets d1ed a bit in ags it's like a curse atp

i think there is a point where it is fair to make a certain argument: specifically that the player is hiding behind their gimmick and using it to avoid speaking up in thread. i don't feel df has reached that point yet. it is not the easiest gimmick to parse, but that's life. if we have no use for those who do not move us closer to our goal, we technically have no use for players who are not speaking up, or not showing up either. (for the record and for clarity i'm not a fan of contribution crusading in this game. don't wanna get into it.) is there a reason you're specifically pushing df here? google is free don't swear by yourself unholy Adonalsium (but no i did consider but i really don't have the bandwidth to write things so i spent an unholy amount of time considering if i should give you the dirge of seikilos, going over my memory of irish folk songs and laments, and then finally said 'lolscrewit' and just quoted Bilbo's song from when he left to the Grey Havens. the rest of it is organically written though, trust.)

i don't actually know how to explain it because it's haram but i think zebra's line of reasoning is pretty damn kayana and the fact i think zebra is kayana is v interesting because i only have that reaction to specific people in specific circumstances and they are usually village in those worlds. Well. At least that was one passenger who appreciated his talent and his genius, even if most of this rust-bucket of a ship was swarming with uncultured barbarians. Zense's fingers stilled as he brought the most recent song to a premature close and considered the passenger's request. A simple Threnodite dirge. He rolled his eyes, just a little, at the requirement it be 'simple.' Of course, it always had to be simple. Easier if he had pipes; the proper Threnodite dirges always used the pipes, but he only had the baliset with him right now. There was one, though. He struck the rhythm on the baliset, weaving the threads of the melody together deftly. A song of a journey, of a time when the humans fled the Homeland on ships that moved on the water, rather than in the skies or in space. Day is ended, dim my eyes, but journey long before me lies. Appropriate, perhaps, because once upon a time, the captain would have been a seafarer and was now a spacefarer, though the evil lay not behind them, but before them. If you dug deep enough in Threnody, you found a vein of sea-longing, perhaps because they had been too afraid to write songs about the Fallen World. Farewell, friends! I hear the call. The ship's beside the stony wall. A simple melody, though Zense could not help himself; he added a slight complexity to the tune. A little flourish, a little improvisation. Not something any of the passengers would appreciate, of course. But such was the burden of Art (TM.) Foam is white and waves are grey; beyond the sunset leads my way. Foam is salt, the wind is free; I hear the rising of the sea.

Oh my godddd u r the Bumblebee gimmick that's even scarier than i thought ok ok lemme work with u here if u mean first vote, yes if u mean guy who stumped for/shepherded votes/shaping thread narrative, no, and that's why i asked b/c i wasn't sure that was the correct parse panicking is a slightly weird read/nuancing because u gotta read tone and i don't got no tone off weasel this is why i ask as im not sure i got the right thing off u if it helps with the bumblebee:

i think there's a difference btwn a vote being known to be 'fairly' random* esp early on & explicitly advertising it as random & i think u might very well understand why i tend to hesitate at that - it's also why i felt sympathy with/for DF's opener (second post maybe? the one i flagged) b/c that's a line of thought i can understand and def also experience *there's an extended set of caveats i don't wanna get into right here - i've acknowledged it is a thing that catches my attention, im moving on in life b/c presumably u'll give me more to go off (and probably are anyway) violet axl it's d1 kemosabe what do u think ur missing join the club I'll note that Zebra is actually hiding analysis/game-related stuff in RP: this post explicitly mentions that the Crocodile vote was a pressure test and he didn't like Croc's response. It does give me certain vibes which are slightly making me positive about Crocodile but this kinda requires Crocodile to be a certain player, I've never been good at reading this player, and most importantly I'm resolving to try to fly more or less blind on this one so i dgaf ig. @Quartz Zebra fwiw care to throw a bit more of a bone on what you're referring to? i can get the rough outline of what ur sayin but would like a better sense if at all possible where do u got ur eyes on in this case? i think this is a fair question to ask if also a bit strange & idk if im too charitable to meerkat or too uncharitable to iggy in that i feel the obv shout here is...bandwagoning/opportunistic voting? but also true that meerkat did not frame it as being a bandwagoning/opportunistic voting concern not first time flamingo asks for catch-up im a bit...eh b/c there's not v much to catch up on at this point and i myself am plodding through the day to try. df, understand ur gimmick, can u help me out here? trying to parse what u r saying: u think weasel is a vote leader and panicking or? "Hey!" someone called to him, as he exited the lifts to Passenger Deck 3A. Practically accosted him at the deck entrance. "I'm selling Kalak's Honorblade for a mere 400 boxings!" Zense swept past the man. He had better things to do than idle with trivialities. There was music, however a mockery of his Art(TM) to be played, or Maddens would give him no end of a tongue-lashing. Passengers scurried about the deck, pointing fingers at each other. Murmuring about what the captain's death portended. Something to do about...pirates? Raiders? Zense scoffed. Nothing worse; those would know absolutely nothing about the great art either. "Where've you been?" The deck steward scowled. "We've been calling for you for at least half a day!" "Nonsense," Zense replied. "Art(TM) takes time, you can't rush an artist—" The deck steward pointed him to a small alcove near a very nice viewscreen. The sort of thing Zense would've liked to study for days, to see if he could manage a composition that was capable of capturing that view of interplanetary space. "Enough, Rosharan, just start playing!" Zense fixed him with an affronted glare. "I am not from storming Roshar," he informed the deck steward. "I am an artist, my world's boundaries lie only about my heart." "Harmony help us, Rosharan!" Zense stared at him for a few heartbeats longer, hoping to fix the intensity of the man's offence into what passed for his brain. Alas, that did not particularly seem to have effect. He sat down at the alcove, spreading open his sheet music. Simple music it was. Simple, affrontingly simple. A sheer insult to his genius and his Art(TM.) The inhumanity he had to endure. Undoing the cover and pulling free his baliset, Zense began to play.
