context for how they were both spontaneous:

”hey there’s a concert going on in like 30 minutes over at [place], wanna see if there are any tickets left?” 

there were in fact tickets left.

then, driving home from concert: “wow look, there’s some sort of rig set up in the park. oh it’s a DJ. Looks like some sort of rave.” cut to me jumping out of friends car at a stoplight and joining rave.

i also went to an ice cream social but that’s less exciting
