  1. Aaric and the squadron of Lifeless finally finished putting up the chairs (in arrangement B with the surrounding crowds as sub arrangement F, and the officiator's rostrum set in the micro-arrangement R') and turned around just in time to see everyone where they'd started: Rhazien was looking at Yzabet. Only this time, everything was ready for their wedding.

  2. "Absolutely! Can I use a squadron or so of the Lifeless to help me try out a few different arrangements? I've been looking around the HQ records to get ideas of what we've done in the past, and I have a couple of things I'd like to try."

  3. Turning a corner, Aaric saw Rhazien and Yzabet presumably having a tender moment. He turned right back around (they clearly needed a minute alone) and was headed down the corridor he had came from to wait until something more interesting than a Dakhor monk caught his attention.

I'm with Lopen, just because he's done some crazy stuff in the past on the thread doesn't mean we should completely disregard everything he posts now.

Also sorry for the inactivity but I'm really busy this weekend, I'll probably be back for good around Monday afternoon and til then I'll check in every 24 hours or so.

  5. That was sudden, Aaric thought. He ducked around a corner to take some time to plan out his strategy. Unfortunately, he ran right into a monk who started, then began glowing.

Storms, why does so much Investiture make people light up like broams? he wondered as he reached out with his right hand, Verdant Aether extending to grab the monk, Tern coalescing into a Shardblade in his left. That was one of the disadvantages of the Aether (along with its unpredictability) - it was attached to his sword arm and he was still working on left-handed wielding.

When the first tendril of Aether touched the monk's skin, it dissolved. Unexpected, but Aaric quickly switched his blade to his right hand and swung at the monk, catching his left leg on the downswing. The monk collapsed on his now useless leg letting Aaric finish him off. He continued quickly down the corridor, the eyes of the monk still smoking behind him.

  6. Gaining control of his newly spiked body, Aaric rises from the table. "Thanks, Mac," he says (after reading the disclaimer, of course). "I should be able to teach the others the Metallic Arts now, I think... it might take me a while to get used to Allomancy though."

  7. Aaric stumbled back to his feet as the blow of emotional Allomancy wore off just in time to see Rhazien disappear with the monks in a flash of light. Storms, he thought. I'm not ready to fight this kind of power yet. Looking around, he saw the wasteland that had formerly been the Alleyvillage being consumed by the beavers and meerkats. It's time to go, he decided.

He saluted Lopen with the Honorblade. "I'm going to need this to get out of here, but I'll give it back when next we meet!" Then, sucking in Stormlight, he channelled all his will into a dramatic, cape-swishing exit via Transportation to the Cognitive Realm.

    It didn't work.

Huh, he thought, looking at the Honorblade. Why didn't that -

The Surge finally kicked in, dragging him to Shadesmar and away from the remains of the Alleyvillage.

Lopen has a flashback. Mac had just found him, a starving Rosharian child, and started making a strangely delicious blob into a slice of golden deliciousness. ‘No...’

"Poor soul!" Aaric said. "You'll have to give them a try. They're cooked specifically to have little pockets that can be filled with syrups and creams to add to the flavor - truly a culinary masterpiece."

‘Va——vles.... what are they?’ Lopen felt a sudden tug of hopelessness, his eyes filling up with tears.

Aaric turned to Lopen. "Waffles are a delicious form of pastry native to Scadrial. Have you heard of them?"

  10. Aaric stepped out of a nearby perpendicularity into the burning remains of the Alleyvillage, then sniffed. He smelled a sweet odor on the air, one he hadn't smelled in a long time. "Waffles?" he said, confused. Where had the waffles come from?

  11. If I remember correctly, Defending Elysium references Earth while Firstborn doesn’t, and that could be another clue pointing towards the former rather than the latter. Please correct me if I’m wrong, though.
