Read Warbreaker. You'll pick up on some important stuff in Words of Radiance, and it will prepare you for Oathbringer.

Well said! I meant to use the word protect, and I think your wording is superior.

I think the generally proposed theory is along those lines - that the oath may be "I will accept that I can't save everyone." It's an internal goal - coming to terms with your own limitations, which is a really powerful character moment for Kaladin.

I love the ending of SoS. It's so sad, but it's really perfect for Wax's character arc. You'll love Bands of Mourning. 

It would be an interesting juxtaposition, since he played Superman.

Just finished the book! Loved it. Spensa's a GOOlock, and I loved how open the galaxy feels even after just visiting one more "planet."

This would be interesting, since with every "download," the data would become slightly more corrupted as the memories fade.

Autonomy's "intent" has always been a bit weird to pin down. What is Autonomy? Isolated from the books, it seems to refer to one's ability to thrive without needing any outside help. The Shard having multiple avatars complicates this, though, because it seems at a glance to be a contradiction. I've come to the conclusion, though I may be wrong, that Autonomy is trying to create multiple communities of independent people/species/ecosystems that are self-sustaining, and wants to watch those communities progress without any outside interference, hence the Taldaini travel ban mentioned by Khriss in the Taldain essay. 

The Sand Masters are a good example of one of those communities - isolated, strong, independent. At least, they thought they were. Additionally, the manifestation of Sand Mastery being many ribbons bonded to one master follows this "autonomous communities" idea.

Pure speculation, but it could possibly also be modified to feign death rather than cause it. It could be very useful to fake one's own death at times in the Cosmere.

Aaric ran off to the local Dark Alley document and artifact repository to check on that file Mac had mentioned. Let's see... he said he was looking for 'the case file on Winter devotion when the essence spike was inserted.' I wonder if that would be filed under "winter," "devotion (attribute)," "Devotion (Shard)," "essence spike," or "miscellaneous."

He had forgotten just how extensive the repository was.

Aaric walked to the wall of the laboratory, summoned his Shardblade, and plunged it between two bricks, severing the copper wires and shorting the circuit for the fire alarm. "Yeah, that was getting storming annoying," he said, ears still ringing.

Aaric stroked his chin thoughtfully. "This application of Hemalurgy could change everything. Do you suppose will we need to spike an Azish man to make the Essence Spike?"

I might be going on Friday, and if I do I would definitely visit the signing, but I have no recording equipment to speak of.

"Wait!" Aaric jogged up to the couple and handed them a white tree branch. "This is my gift to you two. It's from either Yolen or Gondor, and it's a symbol of peace and happiness. May you enjoy your time together." He bowed profusely and exited the dance floor.
