  1. To me that seems to imply that they were aged somehow by the Reod.
  2. This, basically. The three main categories of materials are metals, ceramics and polymers. Metals are allomantically active unless they're aluminium (and aluminium is quite soft), polymers are not usable as weapons because they're too soft, so you have to work with ceramics, which tend to be very brittle. Obsidian is perhaps the one notable exception in history of a ceramic being used as weapon, perhaps together with glass.
  3. Or another type of spren. I think that it may occasionally happen that a squire from one Order may in the end join another Order.
  4. I believe the Alethi have several dozen soulcasters, actually. Remember how a whole bunch came with the expedition to the center of the Shattered Plains, and that was most likely not all of them, considering six of the highprinces and the king (who owns the soulcasters and rents them out) all stayed behind.
  5. Not all, right? There wasn't a mass genocide on obligators after TLR fell. In fact they were invaluable because they were the ones keeping the entire place (somewhat) running.
  6. And requiring proximity. On the other hand you do have the advantage of not having said any Ideals, meaning you're free to do as you like unless your Radiant stops you (which they probably will if they are aware of what you're doing and want to keep to their Ideals themselves).
  7. It's actually specifically mentioned that the Alethi army at the Shattered Plains has only been able to stay there for five years because they use soulcasters instead of (yes, instead of) supply caravans.
  8. There's a mention somewhere of animals that are specifically bred for their gemhearts. As for singers, I believe they are assumed by humans (or were in old times, at least) to not have gemhearts. Indeed, this is where the taboo came from. Additionally, it's mentioned somewhere in Oathbringer (I'm afraid I can't be more specific as I don't remember, but probably in a Venli interlude) that singer gemhearts are different from most gemhearts.
  9. We have heard about the "Shin invasions" but we barely know anything about them, though they feature prominently in the "The Shin have the most..." theory.
  10. Guess I'll add that then. Also a good time to specifically mention the faction leaders.
  11. Lift be like...
  12. Looks like the tagging didn't work, let me try again for you. @Life&Death @Rebecca
  13. Not to derail this into an Odium vs Passion debate (though I do intend to make a post about that sometime...) but there's also this one: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/352-miscon-2018/#e10282 Also, I disagree with the notion that all Odium does is spread hate. I just think that if you take any emotion to it's extreme it becomes detrimental and, because it's what he does to humans, it's as if he hates because he destroys them.
  14. We do know by WoB he'd probably love to punch Odium in the face...
  15. We already know Cultivation is female.
  16. Didn't Venli remark on Odium being human?
  17. Crazy theory time? Kelsier is gonna take up Harmony and become Discord, which may or may not be a bad thing. Sazed either dies or becomes human again.
  18. That would imply inter-species relationships though, as Tanavast is confirmed human. We don't know whether that's even possible with the species from Yolen.
  19. Confirmation! I knew it.
  20. That second WoB is from SoS release party... Would he mean MB Era 3 with "ask me after Mistborn 9"? Or MB Era 4?
  21. Is Ico a lightspren? If so then Timbre is as well. I agree that it wouldn't make sense to mention his daughter running away if that daughter isn't Timbre. I just thought we had no canon name. (https://coppermind.net/wiki/Lightspren)
  22. She doesn't have a honorspren? Timbre is a cometspren (or at least that's what we seem to have named it here). Also, a Nahel bond could be separate from the singer-spren symbiosis; it's been created to work without gemheart, after all, so maybe they'll eventually have a spren in their gemheart that determines their form, and then a higher spren they have a nahel bond with.
  23. Uh, Venli already bonded Timbre... She's said the First Ideal and inhaled Stormlight.
  24. I had a theory along those lines (contains OB spoilers), though my goal wasn't to explain why the intents existed but rather to try and predict the missing intents.
  25. Not sure why I can't just copy paste into the post, so see attachment. Nevermind it did work. (for the record, a duodecillion is 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000)
