Working backwards, here's some initial thoughts: --Wiz is lock village --Generally, elims like to keep their options open. So Stick's response to my CC stands out as the most scummy, since they saw good reason to not vote me, then doubled back to try undermining the value of the gambit. It's scary to take back votes, so Sil looks good. And Mat looks ok for outright rejecting my assertion. (Sidenote: Stick is technically right to suspect that JNV might have put in the kill, which would allow e!solo!me to exist.) --Turtle looks a bit like an Elim who is suffering from the increase in responsibilities created by the loss of a teammate. I think they wrote their post to prepare the thread for their exit, before realizing the pinch hitter was no longer available. That would explain why they would risk becoming a target of a sympathetic/pragmatic village vigilante as an elim. As Kas highlights, JNV was supportive of Turtle, so that adds to the case. --Silhouette is mentioned so many times by JNV that my initial impression was that they were an elim exe option, which he'd be happy to switch back to suspecting later. --If I could draw your attention to this comment by JNV as well, "Am I the only one who just doesnt get why Shqueeves was on the table". This signals to me that is was a village-dominated wagon he's trying to pass off as an elim push. Village points to Shq voters Kas, Mat, Wiz, and Sil. -OH look, Mat voted JNV earlier. Free village cred but what the what? Y'all murdered an Elim D1 too?? That changes a lot. It also explains why I saw people assuming only one elim was left. Turtle is the way to go then. I know Kas intentionally excluded them for inactivity reasons, but it's potentially a layup. Given the strength of the village position, it's kind of personal preference whether you'd rather waste the discussion thusfar today and shoot a relative question mark, or risk following the logical route that might get frustrating if it turns out the question mark was the culprit all along. Having not yet fully committed to this read through, my preference is to hope for the easy out (the shot in the dark about whether or not their activity concerns are related to their Elim role, plus leaning into JNV's read of them mattering), then shift towards engaging in meatier arguments later. But I respect wanting to do it the other way round.

V!me should have thought about the fact I'm replacing an inactive too, that's unfortunate. Disregard that counterclaim, I just wanted to see how committed Wiz was. It is interesting that Wiz checked to see if my story was plausible. I'd assume someone outright lying about it all wouldn't take that step. So village points to them. Interesting hedge.

that's the worst welcome I've ever received :P. It appears that I need to counter claim Wiz because according to my GM PM, I'm the one who attacked JNV. @The Wandering Wizard care to explain? Also, I'm not going to be in a position to post meaningfully until Sunday, but I'll do my best to contribute as soon as I can.

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Thanks. I know there were lots of people, but Symph was PMing me until shortly before I voted them, then they left. Mat was posting. You were the only silent one, and playing a low profile game is a sin. You've been posting a lot of vote counts, which means you're keeping closer tabs on who might die than anyone else is. Villagers tend to be more ambivalent, especially when they themselves aren't at risk. Elims, especially teammates, get more out of that type of information tracking in real time. It doesn't read as game solving to me. Why hadn't you put in that action? Perhaps you'd put in a Malkor action instead and had no intention or even a plan about how you'd use the spying ability. Everyone who has claimed has thought to announce how they'd prove it, so it's an odd anomaly. I propose that you got caught flat footed, but covered it well after converting Mat. You couldn't use a real PM because you might get asked about it when Mat wasn't on to feed you answers. But you could ask who he didn't have a PM with and go with that. My Araris secret vote was meant to kill them. I suspected them, for reasons™. My Mat vote was to give teeth to the threat of me voting them in future, in case e!they haven't converted yet due to lack of pressure. And the others were to see if anyone on would panic and say something interesting. Edit: To respond to Kas, I think the players would be expected to be adverse to exing the Messanger. It's also a good role for the elims to have so they can spy on PM's, lessening the might of what should mostly be a strong village back channel situation. So Dannex is a Messenger Malkor who faked using the role C1 when they converted someone, then did use it this round. I have no idea if that's consistent with the rules- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hey, Dannex, what was the first verb Conq used in the Kas PM? And why'd you feel the need to post a that's all folks statement at the end, as if nervous that people would catch you lurking, ready to save yourself if someone started irrationally moving votes around? Why have you been so focused on the votes this game? And going back to C1, why didn't you call your shot about whose PMs you'd scan when you claimed? I moved TUN's vote onto Araris, by the way. I wonder if the GM gave e!Dannex a role that people wouldn't be eager to exe in a tight-lipped!Araris scenario, that gives them a peek at valuable information, while being provable once they can pass killing duties off to their minion past C1 Dannex- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might

I'm just going to assume I'll be ninjad and this won't be a double post. Kas, I don't see why Devo would knife their potential ally of me and they'd then warn me my vote manip would fail, which limits the suspect pool. I think they're village gambiting, which is admittedly weird for them thanks, Mat. Have you said hi to Silhouette?- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
--I'm a little less ready to accept Dannex's claim, given the null result, but I'd be placated by Mat and Araris confirming they had no communication with Dannex that Cycle, and a lack of counter-claims. --By the way, the TUN-run e!Ashbringer conversion game was a good proof of concept that solo elims are inclined towards PMing if there's secrets to be found. Why not send some innocent tendrils out to see if anyone will at least confirm they aren't that guy who can't PM? Off the top of my head, I think JNV, Kas, Devo, and Mat have mentioned getting in on the PM action, which ups my suspicion of them. --Mat's been opportunistic. Seconding my Araris vote, and voting for Kas (which I saw as more of an e!vanity vote than an e!suicide attempt, if it was evil) have been curious actions. --Devo read - I'm strongly village reading Devo. Asking small favors of people to make them like you is a well known psychology trick, but then asking for Shields and asking to have their PM read reads as unnecessarily assertive activity for a player who is capable of playing a low-key elim game. Our PM started with them saying 'hey, if you're evil, maybe don't convert me pretty please'. Obviously performative, but it feels like a villager gambit, not an elim one, considering that they'd chosen not to pocket me at that point. I said nice things about them earlier and they repaid me voting for me. Could an elim afford to burn that bridge so pointlessly? They then told me that my target for vote manip would fail and suggested WW instead, which served to narrow the suspect pool by allowing my role proof to succeed. I don't see an elim going to all this counterproductive trouble when they're trying to survive a solo game. --A good elim strategy is to let the ignorant villagers fight amongst themselves until it threatens you. Maybe have a preferred exe option ready in case things turn on you, but for the most part, don't interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake. So I'll second Kas' positive read of the person who was trying to 'save Dan'. And frankly anyone who was quick to move votes at EoD. --I was intentionally vague about my final target at EoD for the extra vote, but I don't think I left enough time for it to be noticed and responded to. My job is to use my two votes to create unpredictability, and I intend to force Malkor's hand by doing so. E!Araris, JNV probably converted already. But E!Mat or anyone else likely didn't. If everyone intends to vote, I invite one of you to PM me with your preferred target and I can cast your vote by proxy, with the added benefit of it'll be a surprise to the recipient. Just don't be too obvious about who your pick is in-thread.- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Correct, and I'm suspicious of them without justification I can articulate well enough to argue for. So I'm bringing them into the mix, to apply pressure if they're the elim You have at least one vote on you, and there's a vote manip vote that might come your way too. Edit: fully agree with Mat about the risks being acceptable if I were an Elim, but it'd be a stalling tactic to let me convert because a counter claim blows it out of the water. So if I'm lying, you'll get an elim next cycle, which is good progress- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Heh. Came by to give Devo credit for playing PM mind games, but I think I raised their hackles by appearing to try to pocket them. I'm sympathetic to Araris' defence. And I spent the day playing DnD so I don't have much more to go on than a gut twinge. So I think I'll split my votes. Symph will be voting for Araris if they continue to remain a no vote. And Dannex can have the other. I don't see JNV as being that suspicious. Yes, that's a provable villager roleclaim, so lets shift those votes elsewhere please and thanks- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might

Unfortunately, at least one of them is a villager I like the strategy of hunting down the person who started as Malkor before hitting the potential conversion targets. Even with the possibility of conversion in play later, it makes sense to clear anyone who can have started as a villager. I'd like to shift my vote to Araris, but I can't remember why- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Mostly because I want to know who plans on doing that even if they only get around to making a couple of them and I'm not included in that batch. Mat announced it, who else is taking that risk and why? Finwe sounds like a cool dude! Hence why I said near tie. Worst case scenario for them is they miss their chance to convert and get exed C2, but if they can put it off, they better their ability to mess with our reads in the back half of the game. So my intention is to make the risk seem too worth the reward of putting it off. If they even have one vote and there's some unpredictable villagers on at EOD who might bring them into the lead/signals they'll pursue them tomorrow as a suspect, then I think they'll use their conversion.- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Less wanting to die and more, very blatant about asking for mercy. Elims should be more subtle, ya? Interesting. My v!Devo tunnel now thinks you're trying to position yourself as a good conversion target when in fact you're not. Anyone who plans on PMing everyone should announce that now. Also, conf villager who lets us PM is a fabulous conversion target. I think. My memory of the rules is shakey. Interesting side note though, the Elim is likely to convert if they themselves are on the hot seat, making near ties more appealing to us. Keeping the suspect pool broad is the way to go today. Conversely, that looked like how JNV usually does it. Still voting Dannnnnnnnnnex because playing under the radar is a good Elim strat.- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Archer replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The children held hands as they danced around him. "Tar-ell, Tar-ell, sitting on the bar-rel. Who's the smart-est of us ALL?" Perspiration dripped from his brow as he glowered at them from his perch. "Wizzdom?" "Smartest! Smartest! Who's the smartest?" "Ahh! He ha he ha!" He pointed at their pet in reply. "Canine." The children were dismayed. How was their dog smarter than they were? They spit on his barrel as they left. They hated him because he spoke the tooth. * I'm curious why the GM thought it was safe to drop the C1 exe protection for the elim. Just rolling the dice to avoid making the round feel pointless? Or did they give them a protection item that Devo wants to swindle them out of by *checks notes* asking politely. TUN is asking to be killed. Which makes me think they're village. Dannnnex on the other hand, has no comments? Dannnnnnnex- 353 replies

Archer replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Which calculations were these? I'm all for assuming four elims to start out of an abundance of caution, but I'd be less confident in my guess of that than you seem. *Kas-TUN doesn't work out* hm must be Kas-Luckspren :thonk: I'd like to complain to the nearest English major about a single pair of glasses already being pluralized and that creating ambiguity about the number of glasses in play in sentences like this. Conq, You didn't end up voting for Fifth here (C2), why was that? Would you mind explaining again why this (C1) was convincing enough to make you switch to voting on nobody? I can see retracting the vote, but it seemed you were most preoccupied with quickly getting rid of it, not playing the poking game. (I previously suggested you posted before reading the elim doc list of teammates and had to do damage control.) And finally, any idea why Fifth felt so confident in your villageness (C2)? Conq EDIT: FYI, My Saturday just got busy so I'll be MIA for most of it- 249 replies

Off the top of my head, I think they tracked them not submitting an NK or shattering. If you've got two out of three(?) elims submitting actions on a given Night, odds are good they'd tap the lowest profile person on the team to submit one of them. But take that with a grain of C1 clears aren't permanent salt. Could I convince you to go for Conq instead since you seem okay with believing they're evil? There's good connections between them and Fifth, particularly where they lightly defended Fifth by arguing for exing Devo first.- 249 replies
