  1. I posted this in the Oathbringer Chapter 7-9 thread, and though it would be good to mention it here too: @WhiteLeeopard responded with: So there is my idea, Bondsmith's can initiate a connection, akin to linking in WoT, between KRs. As @WhiteLeeopard said, there would need to be limits, possibly related to the number of KRs that one Bondsmith can connect.
  2. So my latest idea with the map is that Bondsmiths can "link" KRs and they can share/improve surges (similar to channeling and linking in Wheel of Time). Could this mean that with the help of a Bondsmith multiple KRs can share skills/surges/stormlight and accomplish crazy/cool things that use 3+ surges, or use someone else knowledge to power another's surge (the map)?
  3. I would love to see some Sanderson related themes for Firefox/Chrome browsers, has anyone made Sanderson themes?
  4. I think I miss remembered, this quote. But now that I think about it, it could be support for a Herald.
  5. But isn't a heralds death predicable or at lest not unexpected?
  6. I don't think anyone has mentioned the new Oathbringer preface quotes yet. That right there make me rethink my assumption that it was Jasnah. Who is the author of Oathbringer. Some thoughts I have now are that it might be a Herald or maybe even Honor? Or is it a main character that we have seen and nothing has changed. Who has suffered something worst that death?
  7. Yeah, that is what I thought, I was waiting for forever to see this seen and I was satisfactory, it just ended too soon. It better continue next week.
  8. My favorite line in SA is the conversation between Kaladin and Zahel/Vasher in Chapter 81 of WoR. That last line "Choose the option, that makes it easiest to sleep at night" really spoke to me. I think that it is a great piece of advise, and it come at a major turning point in the book and help Kaladin to choose to, well you know, save several of the most powerful people on Roshar.
  9. My first though with chapter 1-3 was Dalinar, but after reading chapters 4-6 I think that is is Jasnah. I am fairly sure that it is written by a "main character", and most likely someone in or close to the Kholin family. It also need to be someone who can "hang" in between the physical and cognitive realms. This to me strongly suggests Jasnah or at least a KR that has the surge of transformation. I do not think it could be Navani for the sheer fact that we got some of her journal entries in WoR. It could be someone else, but based on everything we know now, I believe Jasnah is the only one meets all the criteria.
  10. @frozndevl, that's why I am showing the occurrence, I am waiting for a chapter that has another most common word. (the software I use/made also reads out the most common word and how many times it occurs) It also give a fun indicator of density and size and help when comparing chapters. But you are right, it is not entirety necessary.
  11. I am wondering if everyone is feeling the same way I am at the end of Chapter 6?
  12. Here are the word counts for the next 3 chapters: Chapter Four WoK (Kaladin): 4141 WoR (Dalinar): 4278 OB (Dalinar): 4896 (the most common word is "the"; WoK: 256 , WoR: 250 , OB: 270) Chapter Five WoK (Shallan): 4035 WoR (Dalinar): 8438 OB (Kaladin): 2278 (the most common word is "the"; WoK: 205, WoR: 456 , OB: 143) Chapter Six WoK (Kaladin): 7217 WoR (Shallan): 4352 OB (Kaladin): 2422 (the most common word is "the"; WoK: 477, WoR: 239 , OB: 126)
  13. I think that part one will have more content, as indicated by the number of chapters.
  14. I made this a while ago but wasn't on the 17th shard yet, so I never posted it. I was reading Warbreaker and when it mentioned artisans script, I though it would be a great idea for a "secret language" or "code". I started designing a system that used two colored dots(ok, rectangles) to represent letters and punctuation. I then actually coded a translator that works and put together a website. I though it turned out pretty well, and while it may not be what Brandon had in mind when he wrote the book, it looks pretty cool. I would love to see what everyone thinks of this. Here is the link to the website: http://aqanta.com/cosmere/colors/
  15. For all of you who are saying the first three chapters and prologue of Oathbringer seemed short, I did some word counts: (FYI: the average chapter length in WoK is 4,386 and in WoR it is 3,954) Prologues WoK (Szeth): 6132 WoR (Jasnah): 5214 OB (Eshonai): 2805 (the most common word in all the prologues is "the"; WoK: 520, WoR: 326, OB: 173) Chapter One WoK (Cenn): 4557 WoR (Shallan): 7871 OB (Dalinar): 2293 (the most common word is "the"; WoK: 258 , WoR: 425 , OB: 177) Chapter Two WoK (Kaladin): 5051 WoR (Kaladin): 5485 OB (Adolin/Dalinar): 3278 (the most common word is "the"; WoK: 304, WoR: 229 , OB: 214) Chapter Three WoK (Shallan): 5308 WoR (Shallan): 2863 OB (Dalinar - flashback): 3988 (the most common word is "the"; WoK: 305, WoR: 186 , OB: 283) Bonus WoK Prelude (Kalak): 1298 ("the" occurs 82 times) So we were all right, all the Oathbringer chapters are under 4,000 pages and only one is above the average chapter count in WoR (chapter 3). I would say that the Oathbringer's chapters are shorter than the other two books. On the other hand, Tor said they were putting out 32 sample chapters or all of part one. WoK had 11 chapter in part one and WoR has 12. So I would expect the other chapter to be short as well. Any other thoughts?
  16. @Nathrangking and @Spicker, I had not though of that, but that is really good explanation, that Dalinar saw the same emotion in the eyes of Odium's champion as he had when he was in battle. It will be interesting to see if/how the Dalinar flashbacks support this.
  17. So in the first sample chapter for Oathbringer, we see Dalinar during one of his visions. After going to a different spot and staying longer. He sees the following: Later he says: What did Dalinar see in the eyes of the champion and why were they so familiar to him? And why was he more scarred of the champion than the unmade or Odium. I was thinking that it could be a parshendi/voidbringer (they have red eyes, right) but I don't think that that would have have that much of an effect on Dalinar. So who is the champion and why is Dalinar so scarred of him/her?
  18. Hmm that did not work... Oathbringer Sample Chapter

  20. Nuhtella is how I say it in Utah. Also nutella sandwiches in Mistborn need to happen.
  21. For me it is either WoA or the White Sand adaptation. While WoA had its moments, I didn't like the whole Zane thing or some of the Elend stuff. And I really don't like the White Sand graphic novel, the 1999 (I think) version was so much better. On a side note, it was funny for me to see that there are several books that are not mentioned anywhere on this tread. Looks like no true Cosmerenaut can hate SA or HoA.
  22. Click on your name in the top right corner and in the drop down menu click "account settings", On the menu on the left there should be a table call "signature" click it and set a signature.
  23. Based on Tor releasing the first 300 pages of Oathbringer before the book launches.
