That makes me feel better about what's already happened but transfiguration is just kind of insane, primarily because altering things at an atomic level tends to result in destroying cities, and typically requires enough power to run several cities. Superhuman intellect is all well and good but fitting that amount of tech into a wand? And not dying from radiation poisoning or accidentally creating another Cherbobyl? To achieve something like that you'd need to come up with a series of technologies hundreds of thousands of times more efficient than anything we have today, any one of which would revolutionize the entire world. I mean you'd need a mobile power generator, a battery capable of storing enough power to run a couple of cities, something to facilitate nuclear fission and cold fusion, an insanely powerful computer with environmental scanning abilities.

Well Nalthis is actually one of the better planets for killing Shardbearers, lifeless assassin spiders or something would be pretty easy to make, plus Nightblood. And they're outnumbered but they have lifeless too, plus as I mentioned the phantoms which are nigh-indestructible.
-
Nalthis does have Nightblood and Kalads phantoms, I'd put them at about equal to Roshar.
-
I wouldn't say that's godmodding, unless someone requests a change saying something that amounts to 'something happened in the past with these two' is vague enough to generally work.

'current era' is a somewhat vague term, Elantris is set over a thousand years ago compared to Roshar.

Nohadon's Book and the Founding of the Knights Radiant
Voidus replied to Nyali's topic in Stormlight Archive
The latter, non KR Surgebinders existed before the Knights Radiant were founded, Nohadon mentions it in one of Dalinars visions. -
That was one of the main reasons I suggested that timeframe, limited numbers of Koloss and they can't really be controlled. I'll have to check but I believe that was also mentioned in the Hero of Ages on the messages TLR left behind so I think it's canon.
-
Are we back to assuming the full forces of Scadrial then? In that case it's an overwhelming victory for Scadrial, it was a few pages ago but I was saying that the Koloss could beat the Alethi pretty much single-handedly so I thought we were still discussing that. Yeah if you give the Scadrians metalborn as well then they win by a huge margin. Lurchers and coinshots are just way too useful against an opposing army. Which is not even getting into Mistborn.

Or the fearful tale of an Epic meeting her cold-hearted (and cold-blooded) general who both hate Epics enough to do all that is necessary to destroy their darkness. Like creating an army of jetpack-laden penguins with lasers.

Lerasium, Atium, the mists, Shardic Investiture clearly can become matter, though whether an Elantrian could channel enough to create matter is another question. As for how much energy would be required to create water it's actually fairly simple, E=mc^2 gives you most of it. So 1 gram of water would require 900,000,000,000,000,000,000 ergs. or 90,000,000,000,000 (9.0 * 10^14) a quick google search puts a 1 megaton nuclear blast at aroun 4 *10^15 joules, so not quite an atomic bomb but close.

Wow, 5 upvotes in like a minute. Guess I don't need to mention that I got a Scribbler post up then? Also editted the last Neverthere segment a bit, it still doesn't quite feel right to me but at least I got to write a bullet going through Nighthounds spleen a bit more.

Well there's a pretty popular theory that that's what Hoid is trying to do, he has Investiture from a lot of places and he would be the one to know how if it is possible.

The Epic instantly pulled out her phone and dialed a number, how on earth she had a contact for acquiring squids, or indeed why was something Lucy Lockser tried not to think about. Giving Lucy another hug and somehow managing to make her clothes briefly glitter, she teleported away, leaving Lucy sitting awkwardly next to doctor Game. "So..." She began, averting her eyes. "That's an... interesting acquaintance to have." The two looked at each other awkwardly, Lucy was about to start speaking again when a shower of sparkles heralded a new arrival yet again. A tank, the steady hum of gravitonics sounded beneath it and inside, she caught a brief glimpse of the Epic, now in a bikini before she teleported out again. Lucy had enough time to wander up to the tank, staring at its other occupant. A large black eye drifted slowly past her as the squid inside floated leisurely around, not seeming all that startled by its sudden spatial alteration or encounter with an Epic. Its eyes seemed kind somehow, almost like they were crinkled up in a smile although she wasn't entirely sure where its mouth was, let alone whether it was smiling. She was startled herself by the reappearance of the Epic, Shiny the man on the phone had called her. “Here’s the squid you’ll make very happy. Now, did I earn Ms. adorable actually giving me a hug herself?” Shiny asked while drying herself off. Scribbler smiled shyly at Shiny as she was complimented yet again, still feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the attention. "Oh um.. yes I guess, thank you mrs. Shiny." The politeness that her mother had drilled into her took over as she awkwardly tried to hug Shiny. She was aiming for a polite hold but Shiny's enthusiasm quickly took hold of her and she felt a grip on her back pull her in tightly where she was squished against the womans body. A single black eye looked comfortingly at her from the tank as she was being held, helping her to relax into the hold a bit more. She hadn't even realized how tense she'd been, a night of no sleep would always do that to her but it had seemed even more than that, it felt like there was a tension in her mind that was slowly being released. "Thank you." She muttered again, somewhat more sincerely this time. Not sure whether she was talking to the squid, to Shiny, to Doctor Game or simply the universe at large. Whatever it was that had done it, she was glad to feel more relaxed now. Her rage at Arsenal had faded back to simple anger, she would talk to someone about what had happened but she no longer felt the urge to find him and turn his head into a nest of wasps.

Fair enough, after all Lord Dupin needs his moment in the spotlight first.

I've been practicing for about 10 years now, and I have a lot of memory techniques

Would her response be to say as much or go outside quickly and check? (Hopefully without abducting Scribbler to do so but we never can rule it out )

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Voidus replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
I could never sleep through mine, lying down makes the nausea worse for me, I just have to sit in a dark room with my head between my legs and a bucket in case I do actually throw up. -
The prime example. Though for that I blame pop-culture more than movies. There's way too much popularization of the term at the moment, from the self-help people who throw the term around to make them sound more scientific.
-
Actually now that Scribbler has a moment to get over the sudden being hugged and admired she might ask Shiny if she knows what's going on outside.

Isn't he flying at the moment? Then again she could just make killer penguins with lasers on their head who also have jetpack. Scribbler doesn't let nature tell her what is and isn't allowed to fly.

Spanreeds IIRC are fairly recent inventions, they probably wouldn't have them at the time of era 1. I'd also rule out Scadrial having feruchemists since the army is presumably led by TLR.

I don't think it's a problem if you want to start a student somewhere still, although starting in a new carriage is probably a good idea. That said I definitely welcome some portrait-friends
