  1. How is this pointed out in SA? I guess I could see his personality being slightly different, but since we haven't gotten a viewpoint from him, it seems like he really isn't that different.
  2. I've never seen that word before in my life. /s Seriously, though, I'm always afraid that I'm missing some weird cosmere jargon. Thanks for clarifying.
  3. What does shed mean?
  4. @Calderis So if nothing would change for the KR, and the spren would continue to exist as previously (like the mists or atium, as Sanderson implies), what WOULD change? Just the ability of one person (the vessel) to direct the entire body of the power all at once?
  5. Oh man, I'm curious to see what that would look like. Would most of the spren just become a part of honor again? How would radiants be effected? I'm sure Sanderson has a cool plan for it but the prospect of a reunited honor seems really cool!
  6. Maybe, maybe not? I was just saying that even if there are any, they shouldn't matter for the next, say, 100 years or so.
  7. To be honest, I don't see the difference between the two camps going on in this conversation. Let's break this down a bit: either Dalinar is acting as a de-facto vessel, or something, or he is temporarily accessing the power. Either way: Using that much investiture shouldn't have much restriction on what he can do with it - recall how when Vin ascended, she literally destroyed ruin, which wasn't possible for preservation. So new vessels can act against their shard's intent. Let's assume that Dalinar, for the purposes of this discussion, will live to a normal age (so like another 20 years or so, maybe? Max, 40-50 more). There's absolutely no way that his remaining life span, combined with how slowly the intent twists the thoughts of a vessel, to start being influenced by Honor/Unity in any big way. Of course, it's possible he could truly ascend, which would change my assumptions and this conversation, but still not for the immediate future.
  8. I would definitely argue that MOST "problems and deficiencies" in books are mental. How many main characters are physically disabled? Not a ton - the flaws in their character more often comes down to their morals or beliefs conflicting with the world they live in.
  9. If I was certain about an answer, we wouldn't be having this discussion. But... Let me preface with this the fact that I'm just flying by the seat of my pants here: do we understand how soulcasting works? The stormlight is granted to the object, and it just kind of changes. Aluminum resists that, but I'm not sure that that kind of change would apply to all kinds of change; sort of like how certain chemicals will resist reacting in certain ways but they're still just forms of energy.
  10. Couldn't you say that using investiture to change something (in this case aluminum) is different than changing something into investiture, like when a metal is burned?
  11. When you say Tanavastium, do you mean Odium's god metal?
  12. Would you mind explaining this process in a bit more depth? The intricacies of nicrosil still evade me.
