  1. Mes leads him from the chamber through a doorway that appears at her mental command. Gilded and decorated as everything else the doorway is engraved with the same symbols that appear on Vapor's necklace. The entrance way vanishes as they walk through. They are in a hall of rich woods that ooze a peace unknown in the mortals realm. There is a calm light which leaves the hall half in light and half in shadow. In the shadows the panels are splintered. Mes floats in silence like a spirit for a while reveling in the calm. After a while she speaks without turning around. "Be wary of wandering these halls alone. It has been a long while since any mortals have come here. There are things here which are quite hungry." In the dark it is hard to tell, but something like a blush tinges Mes' cheeks. With a thought the halls shift. They now stand before doors of polished marble. They almost glow in comparison to the surrounding muted gloom. Chips seem to be missing from the doors in random places. Mes waves her hand and the doors swing inward. A well lit suite of rooms can be seen through the doorway. Exotic woods and marbles make up much of the furniture that can be seen within. Mes stands out of the way and waves Patch forward. Here are your rooms. The doors will open and close at your thought. If there is anything that you don't possess that you wish to have call for me and I shall come. There are provisions within if you desire food or drink." Mes' blush returns as she turns to Patch and then she disappears into the gloom.
  2. Rish watches Vapor examine the room and nods internally. "We should begin your training immediately. However, you must be weary. I will have you shown to a place where you can rest and freshen up." She claps her hands once. A pillar of amethyst flame bursts from the ground and a lad of indeterminable age appears. His scarlet hair and burnished bronze skin are matted with sweat. "Mother." His voice is harsh yet subdued. "Mita we have a guest. Please see to it that she has rooms to rest and freshen up in." Mita nods and then motions for Vapor to follow him. Rish turns toward Patch. "There is much though it is likely humble compared to what you may have seen before. You too may wish to rest and freshen up." She claps twice A young woman with locks as raven feathers appears from nowhere at all. Her eyes are old even as her face has the youth of one who is no older than 20. "Mother." Her voice is soft carrying as a breeze on a calm night. There is a tinge of something hidden in the voice. It is subtle, but nonetheless present. There is a grace to her that is unnatural as she glides over the tiled floor and curtsies. "Mes we have an honored guest. Please take him to the quarters reserved for honored guests so that he may rest if he wishes and freshen up." Mes beckons for Patch to follow and turns without acknowledging her mother again. I dive out of the way as Winter grabs Fox and disappears. My body is numb to the agony burning me alive. The golden blood oozing from the place on my arm where Winter slashed me when he lashed out fades into the background. For a while I just stare into space comprehension leaving me. Through my bond with Fox I can hear the impression of words, but I have not the strength to answer her. After an eternity of nothingness I feel again. Something tears and shatters. The whole of the universe goes dark to me as I cry out wild spasms take me. It lessens slightly for a moment, but it still rushes through me.
  3. I grant you that. Which is why I think that Sja- Anat's role in things may be part of what changed the plan. Moash being chased off by Renarin in of itself does not seem like something which would blow everything up. Unless, Moash getting Kaladin out of the was so crucial to Odium's strategy that the failure of the action threatens everything I just can't see it. There must be something bigger at play here.
  4. That is likely true. However, the shenanigans with Moash that just taken place may have earned a second look as far as Odium is concerned.
  5. Wow what a chapter. Venli, you are a gem. You are more courageous than you admit. However, you will be taken on a journey I think to discover that not all human are as you say. You are indeed coming along nicely as a Willshaper, but you have ways to go. Leshwi, what is your Kaladin fascination? You worry that you will not fight him again? What is your angle? Spren that are willing to give the singers a chance could be light spren as mentioned above. Couldn't it also be the dustbringer spren perhaps? They might see the potential in renewing a bond which allow the to take things apart, but maintain a lack of trust in humans. Singers taking human customs!! Nice. We also have a name for the large Fused who bit the dust and Leshwi genuinely seems to dislike him. Her telling Kaladin to save the humans that were being attacked may not have been a ploy after all. What if Sja- Anat has been found out? The source of Renarin's ability to do this must be a source of annoyance to Odium. He may start asking questions and if he does things could get interesting in a hurry.
  6. Without a word Rish extends her aura to surround the three of them. Everything fades as existence shifts around them. There is neither heat nor cold simply a sense of immense calm. Realms appear and vanish before much can be known about them. An eternity passes in a moment. The travelers appear in a lit hall whose richness is offset by scars that run along the walls and floors. Mosaics are cracked and reliefs split. The splendor and treasures that make up the hall are beyond calculation. Flames burn in sapphire braziers and thrones of pearl line the walls. A hearth of silver burns merrily though the aura is solemn. "Welcome to the heart of my mindscape." @Vapor @Negative_Null
  7. "Who is telling lies Fate, you or I? Perhaps as you are you remember little of the past. However, do not lie. Too much has taken place to allow it." I acknowledge Patch with a nod. "Now is the time for us to go if we are going to do so." @Vapor
  8. "Am I supposed to be afraid? Your moods were always fickle and now you have made another deal? I leave you to your machinations as I always have. As you are inevitable so am I." "If you wish to join me we can take our leave." Rish glides gracefully over the ground until she and Vapor stand side by side.
  9. It's a musical. I was following the seeming theme.
  10. Ris's voice is soft. It is little more than a whisper as it takes flight. "Understand that this will not be easy. You will be tested. You must be sure that this is what you want."
  11. Rish wordlessly nods as she releases the necklace. She allows the emotions to stay in her eyes. There is a sad quality to them A pain and sadness that is unnatural flows from them.
  12. "You speak of Fate as though I were unaware of it. It is of my kin Fallen King. Fate grew upon my knee as my dam could not be bothered to have raised us. They cared little for anything, but themselves. In time your mimes will fall due to their arrogance. Individual realms do not dictate the rules of the cosmos. Death, Fate, Time, Chaos, Destruction, Creation these and others are eternal. By these are the cosmos governed. You say that Baalhan claimed divine law was broken. Had it been so he could not have been defeated. Fate you claim intervened. My sibling rarely enters into the affairs of mortals. How do you speak in the name of Fate if Fate has not gone among mortals in millennia? Tell me who has spoken to Fate? It's gates have been sealed for longer than most can remember. It set events on their path and withdrew. Disillusionment with the failing of existence itself had much to do with this. I will rule long after you have gone. This is inevitable." Rish is silent as Jefferey speaks. She look into the eyes of the girl. When Jefferey has concluded she allows some emotion to creep onto her face. "They say that I lie about protecting you. Words are a cheap thing." She closes her eyes and begins to mutter in the language of creation. A necklace of rubies as fresh blood and sapphires as the sea appears in her hand. In the center is a massive amethyst carved with wild and yet still intricate and elegant runes. She holds it out to Vapor. "This holds my blessing. No agent of natural death can harm one who wears this. Take it. It is my gift to you regardless of what you decide." @Vapor
  13. Are we done yet? My girlfriend is waiting. What's the worst thing to say when you are hosting a dinner party?
  14. He's currently guarding the inside of a prison cell. No one trusts him. Fighting alongside one that you don't trust is a liability in battle not an asset. He may have the ability to end the Fused, but if the entire command is constantly looking over their shoulders then the war effort will be hindered. Without trust the entire ability to wage war is in jeopardy.
  15. "The Prime and the girl are correct. The girl must be allowed to decide on her own. She can create her own destiny. Who are we to drive her in ways that she does not wish to go?" She turns to Vapor. "We are wrong not to consult with you." Rish begins to laugh. It is a cold thing which floats upon the air. For the first time she breaks a cold predatory smile. "Its a funny thing. You fail to realize that all began somewhere. there are permanent realities that are immutable. That they fail to recognize the rules of creation is proof of foolishness. As far as my colleague, Baalhan is a lesser god. He is nothing. Aridith defeated him for he was always weak. You doubt that which threatens all. It began only hours ago. In hours there is no unity in days they will sweep across all realms and the you will know fear." I turn back to Vapor. "You must trust yourself. Only you can know what is right for yourself. I can guide you, but only if you let me." @Vapor
  16. Indeed. The person below me is a practitioner of the occult.
  17. "You presume much and speak boldly Fallen King. I am inevitability. The First Death. I underestimate nothing. We allow the worm Aridith to exist nothing more. Divine laws rule all." Rish is unmoved by the speech. "The Prime is correct. The girl must be allowed to decide on her own. She can create her own destiny. Who are we to drive her in ways that she does not wish to go?"
  18. "It is most unfortunate if what he learned from you is that which he speaks. It betrays an ignorance of the ancient laws. If you say that I have held back the truth then what have you taught him? The reassurance of an unbreakable divine bond is more than I would give most." Rish turns to Jefferey. "Your daughter will be unreachable with me."
  19. "Finally, someone with a modicum of knowledge speaks." Something almost akin emotion appears in her voice for the briefest moment. Rish turns and 3 become one again. "Your son is a fool who pretends to know things that he does not. I hardly think that you are the sort to make much over words. Let me assure you of this I swear to you as an elder goddess. That I intend no harm to your granddaughter." The air shivers for a moment. "At this moment her powers are suppressed. It would require little to awaken her powers. What she is at this moment is ordinary. Her's could be limitless in moments. An intercession to my grandparents could even maker her divine."
  20. Maybe..... The person below me knows how to bake strawberry short cake.
  21. "I have spoken a truth." Rish's three voices blend into a single sheet that coats the room.
  22. "I have." Rish does not react at all. Indifference flows off of her in waves. She does not turn around.
  23. No, but I have two good friends who are dungeon masters and I have designed things for them. Nope. The person below me likes to bowl.
  24. Rish does not turn. "You would strike at me in the hall of a divinity who would protect you? Be assured of this by the ancient laws I cannot violate the hospitality of our host. However, should you strike me you forfeit his protection. Understand this, you are involved in matters that are far greater than you can comprehend. I have forgotten more than your line from the beginning of time until the end will ever be privy to. If you wish your daughter to waste her potential then remain on your course. On your head rests the fate of all beings."
