  1. Well Rashi on Chumash is a classic. Rav Zvi Grumet wrote a good book called Moses and the Path to Leadership. It explores Moshe's leadership in interesting ways. I had the pleasure of learning from him in Yeshiva. The Person Below Me takes staying up late on holidays (here is looking at you Pesach) seriously.
  2. It is interesting. The person below me personally knows at least two other sanderfans.
  3. Yeah. (What's the deal with peanuts?) The person below me has gone away for pesach to a hotel.
  4. I have been saying for a while it is a schwarma in a laffah with salad. The person below me likes quinoa.
  5. Farfel is good any day. The person below me prefers water challah to egg challah
  6. Nice. We have a weird minhag of only being non gebrochts for the first days. I do not. The person below me likes machine matzah over hand matzah.
  7. Usually. Store bought is too thick. The person below me does not eat gabruchts.
  8. "My mother and father in law will not do so, because I do not wish it. However, we must show reverence." The divine voices stay silent.
  9. I keep my voice neutral and my head bowed. "Forgive their ignorance. Mortals know so little." "I am well Fadran. Kneel before these two the highest of primordial gods, the beginning and end of all magics and sorcery, the parents of my lost wife." "They speak so familiarly? We owe you at least the respect of mortals. Shall we destroy them on your behalf." There is no love or respect in the two voices that are one. Power of the mightiest sort flows through these spoken words."
  10. Probably not. I'm on a Mishnah Yomi regimen myself. The person below me associates the time of year with the number of weeks until the next holiday.
  11. Gush Etzion is in Israel. Always. The person below me makes it a habit to learn every day. (Bonus if you do a daily learning program)
  12. Indeed. I learned parshanut in yeshiva in Israel from a student of Nechama Leibovitz. Many of my Rabbonim spent time in the Gush so I have heard of Yeshivat Gush Etzion. I know a bit about art. The person below me likes macaroons.
  13. Thankfully, I have not. The person below me has learned a method of exegesis from an expert teacher.
  14. If that is the only option. Personally I prefer Boston cream. The person below me has pulled two straight all nighters (bonus points if it was either during the seders or shavuot.)
  15. I have. It was interesting to say the least. The person below me plays dreidel all year round.
  16. Indeed it was mammash amazing. The person below me has had yerushalmi kougel recently.
  17. Mentally. I also bought two new haggadas. (I have only ever used gummies.) The person below me thinks that mascato de asti is an awesome wine!
  18. Not really. The person below me has eaten the head of a fish.
  19. "Mortals are an odd sort. They claim intelligence, but speak no wisdom. Why Nathrangking, you insult us by associating with them and thinking that we did not know what you had done." A second voice whose words flow and match the cadence of the first surrounds us. I watch without emotion as the gate into Rish's realm flickers once and then puffs out of existence as a trickle of smoke as pitch. Within me a razor slashes my soul rending my spirit apart and leaving me momentarily breathless. I drop to one knee and bow my head in submission while ignoring the absolute agony which threatens my existence. "My Lord and Lady you know that what I have done has been in your service. This is no exception.
  20. There a couple of pieces to this post. The first is an apology to those sharders with whom I RP. I have been sporadic in my posting and it's unfair. I truly wish that I had the wherewithal to be consistent. Covid is still very much in my system. I recovered months and months ago and yet it lingers. I have bone crushing fatigue which hounds me. It has kept me from being as active as I want to be.

The second thing is an apology on the off chance that people like reading my weekly poems. The second poem that I promised last week never materialized for the same reason as I stated above. I am going to push to create the poem if I can beat this exhaustion.

The third piece is the poem for week #9 Poem 9.

                                                     Beholding Wisdom

Everything around me slows and the whole of creation seems to be dragged into the clutches of a slumber whose chains refuse to be broken. The whole of history appears to me as a vision almost too wondrous to be understood by a mortal being. I may once have bore armor to shield me from the harms of the world, but now I receive a new protection which takes far more than it will ever give me in return. Wasted prayers fly from my lips as I entreat any and all deities who might have the mercy to take me from a damnation created by the folly of immortals whose hubris’ never drag them down into the dust. What odd sounds make up my world now. My cries are long gone. They echoed around us and formed a cloak which has faded and gone far away. Now the only things that I can hear are rustling and hissing that cast powerful curses over what might as well be all of the cosmos. It was my thirst for glory that led me here to a hall of moments that span eternity in the span that I take in a single breath. A shroud falls ever so slowly over existence as I watch what so many eyes have witnessed, but could never describe. Words fail me at this strangely melancholy moment. No fear grips me now. Most might plead and tremble, but the eyes so melancholy that I see create within me knowledge greater than any god or scholar could ever hope to possess. There is no melevolance so mighty that it might be called monstrous. Here all that exists is the wickedness and blindness of sovereigns whose right to power was the destruction of those who gave them life. As I am entombed all is known to me. In this infinite frame I too cast curses upon the earthshaker and enemy of Arachne. Though breath ceases, eternal knowledge is now mine to hold and treasure. Medusa may have taken me prisoner this day. However, she has at the same time shattered the chains that kept me from seeing and set me free.

Covid is indeed evil. Hope you feel better soon. :)

  21. I never did learn how to play an instrument. The person below me thinks that apples in honey work all year round.
  22. I don't know about that. Benny is good, but Avreimel and MBD are the kings. I do. The person below me does not own a television.
  23. I have had the occasion to do so. The person below me is a fan of MBD over Avreimel.
  24. Thankfully not. The person below me prefers kreplach to matzah balls.
  25. I wish. The person below me likes lox and cream cheese.
