Poem 11
Double Crowns
Sublime notes weave through the mountains and hills bringing vitality to the stony and most silent earth. Song sparks something deep within the soul of the very world pulling forth life where there was none at all. Forests, glades, orchards, rivers, and streams burst onto this once bleak landscape and transform it into paradise. Birds join in with this o’ so perfect enchantment and add to the power that now seeps into the blood of this realm. The sun above glows brighter and all manner of beasts come forward to return to this place the sounds of the living. In the seas, even the depths become a place once again full of the happenings of the living. Humans long hiding leave seclusion and saturate the air with laughter and praise as has not been heard in eons uncountable and unknowable. All of creation wonders whose acts have brought forth glory of a scale that even legend cannot do justice. When there comes a momentary lull in the tune and a shift there are two voices rising over everything. A queen dressed in pearl with a crown ringed in gold brings calm to the realm. She is ethereal and beautiful in ways that no mortal can ever hope. The second is an empress whose aura has instilled life and called nature closer. Her silver crown is a twin to the first and yet is different in so many ways as to be incomparable. From her comes grace that none on the mortal plane can ever match. Two sisters bestow upon this reality gifts that would make deities blush and angry with jealousy. One must alas depart after a time and leave the other to rule this kingdom in her stead. Promises are made and the otherworldly beauty will return to this place once more. However, the other in her wonder and greatness allows us to await the other without tears of mourning. Mirth will hold us until the twin may return to us and complete us in the most perfect way. Now, we are celebrating even when night rises. Then we shall sing and night will come no more.
