  1. Funnily the character it's for isn't the type to do that and would be great friends with Raoden since their personalities can be similar at times. So like Brandon with a dreamy face?
  2. What does an idealistic Mistborn look like?
  3. Your name makes me want to give you a big squeeze/hug! It also makes me think of a butler.
  4. You know, I have a sseries idea where one of the races was born from the wifi of their world. They are always connected but because of their origin they don't have problems being in it.
  5. You strike me as a sports person with that username. What is the secret to your spiked delicious cookies?
  6. Thought of a different power at breakfast. How about if someone was a constant Wifi spot?
  7. Neat. It's great how international this fanbase is.
  8. I nearly forgot about Assassin's Creed. Love the games, the film was a snore. Hope a sequel doesn't get made.
  9. I wasn't exactly watching it but my mom had Married at First Sight on last night. One of the couples kind of annoys me because they apparently like each other and have a great time during the 8 weeks, but the guy says he'll do the divorce if she won't have sex with him. He keeps going on and on about not having done any sex with her that it seems that he thinks that's the only way to have a successful marriage. She even asked how much he trusted her on a scale of 1-10 and he said 4 because they haven't had sex yet. DUDE! THERE'S MORE TO LOVE AND MARRIAGE THAN HAVING SEX! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR WIFE ISN'T READY FOR THAT! Even Tyrion Lannister didn't have sex on his wedding night because Sansa wasn't ready for it.
  10. I just don't understand the whole 'MURICA thing at all since we most definitely are not the greatest country out there. What country are you from? Since you had put earlier that you were Hindu i'm guessing you're from India?
  11. Yeah, it's like unless you have an interesting protagonist then don't even bother. I mean Four's backstory with his father was more interesting than Tris having to deal with a friend, turned 'enemy' committing suicide or her becoming, literally, too big for her pants. I do kind of want to read the books Mortal Instruments is set in since I like magical mundane. I do agree that the sequels were weaker than the first, who wants to read a love triangle that's not really there? The ending was a bit lame but that's the best to hope for I guess. To be frank dystopian fiction isn't really a genre I enjoy reading so it says something that I liked Hunger Games. After getting some pictures of my library for another thread I noticed one book that disappointed me when I read it at the time. Inkdeath. I'm not sure if it was more the translation being a problem or how stories in Germany are done but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two books, especially when they barely read any characters out when the whole thing about Meggie and Mo is that they can read characters out of their books. It was like Mrs Funke forgot what story she was writing.
  12. Heres my library. I have more books, but they are boxed away in the garage. I'm also planning on rearranging a lot of this at some point. Sorry for any sideways pictures, they uploaded that way. My leatherbounds, a handful of books from Fencon and my Big Finish audios: Mostly my YA and fantasy stuff along with a couple DVD box sets: More of my fantasy sets along with my Stephen King books, my Doctor Who DVDs and Doctor Who books My entire DVD/blu-ray library Now for some close ups My leather bound classics and modern classics. I plan on rainbow sorting these at some point, but for now just enjoy this color madness! Some older books and self published books I bought at Fencon My Big Finish audios ranging from Doctor Who to Frankenstein to Oz. If you haven't listened to anything from these guys you should, they are excellent at turning very visual shows into audio to the point the Fifth Doctor actually has to face off against the Weepibg Angels in one adventure. Just some nice hardbacks plus a great book from Dragonmount's founder My Harry Potter books Just some random books ranging from Disney Parks stuff to the Weird US books to a couple King's and Heroes of Olympus More hardbacks. The books to the right of the Walt Disney book is my mom's books. The start of putting my YA books on one shelf. I wish that the Twisted Tales were coordinated instead of changing at book 3. My Sanderson books plus some comics. I rarely double dip but I made an exception for Elantris. My system here is this is going by publishing order instead of by series. That copy of Calamity is a signed copy I got last year at Barnes & Noble on Black Friday because they had a sale going on for signed books and just couldn't pass this one up. I'm trying to get all the MCU comic tie-ins but dang are these things pricey! Also, Go Go Power Rangers! Unread books just waiting to be read after I read my Sanderson copies, though I will read the Holmes and Five Nights books in October. The Beast is an Animal is probably the only book I've ever bought just because of the cover which is gorgeous. I wasn't planning on getting any of Game of Thrones, I know that's not the name of the series, until Winds of Winter at least had a date but I picked it up to get a head start on getting them. No Rothfuss because dude, finish book 3, I don't want to read the two currently out and wait to read the ending! A mix of YA and adult. Simple and shiny Hunger Games is great. damnation J. K., you sure have a potty mouth when Potter isn't around. Jim Butcher makes an appearance along with Sword of Truth. Haven't read SOT yet. I loved the Alexa Codex book and plan on getting the rest along with Dresden. Divergent, eh, not the greatest story ever. Am debating if I should pick up the rest just to read more of Four. More King and WOT. Funny that I have Thinner right next to WOT XD Rest of WOT, King and LOTR. Confession time, I haven't fully read LOTR. I started it a few years back but the traveling from the Shire to Bree bored me. I do plan on trying again in the future. That book on the very end is one I got for Christmas a couple years back and will never read. It's a parody of LOTR and my mom saw me looking at it and assumed I was interested just because I picked it up and read the synopsis to see what the heck it was. A lot more YA. You can tell I like the Percy Jackson books and Kingdom Keepers. More King! You can guess who I was super into a few years back. I do have Eragon and Eldest but they are packed away in the garage. I'm basically a mad man with a few books Really, I'm a mad man Did I forget to mention I was a mad man... Hello there Mr Pratchett! A shelf I'm starting for my Shout! Factory purchases. There's the Big Bad Beetleborgs, Super Sentai's Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (bloody fun kids show from Japan that became the adaptation for Power Rangers), the two old Power Rangers movies so that I can put them with the sets once I get all four (only have two at the moment) and the first film of Digimon Adventure tri. Hope you enjoyed this tour tour of my shelves and my silly words.
  13. But you never see any of them saying that they're 500 years old despite looking 20, at least not in the stuff I've seen. Ive actually got an idea for a superhero type story where the heroes are 'almost super', meaning when they take the superhero test, in this story it's a job, they score in a weird grey area where they are not average but they aren't quite super enough. Like a super genius, like Professor X, might need a minimum IQ of, say, 3000 but the person only gets a score of 2998 then the government has no idea where to put these people, with the regular citizens or with the heroes.
  14. I'm not at a point where I can fit in right now. The place one working at is just getting to the point that this might be my last year working here. I'm thinking maybe to get a job at Barnes & Noble. Better hope you're not including Florida in there because the people there are very friendly. But I have this girl I like and she lives in Denmark and from our talks I wouldn't mind moving there, mostly because despite loving my country even I get sick of the 'Murica attitude sometimes and would rather live someplace that's more put together.
  15. I was originally from Irvine, in the Orange County area of California, and my parents moved to Waxahachie, about 30 miles south of Dallas. Until we moved here I didn't even know what religion was so that shows how much faith ran my life growing up. When people kept talking about Jesus and God and all that I had no clue what they were talking about. Heck some acted surprised that I never did church growing up (I thought they were just places for weddings at that age). In high school my classmates kept harassing me with questions on what I believed in and whether I believed in heaven or not. The answer to that last question is yes I do believe there is a place where people go when they die, but that it's shaped more on the life the person lived so if they were horrid, nasty people they get hell but if they were decent then they'd get heaven. There were actually times I was sick of seeing anything Christian related because of the way the people here acted. Also the people I work for claim that they're good Christians but they show the same nasty attitude I've seen that even my mom, who is piscapalion or however it's spelled, says they don't act like good Christians. So that shows the kind of attitude I've had to deal with here.
  16. I put other because I don't identify as any religion, but my being non-religious also stems from pushy Christian's in Texas who act all "you have to be a Christian or you're a spawn of the devil". I'm fine with others being religious but if they try preaching to me to try converting me then I have a problem. But when I was in high school a classmate assumed I was atheist just because I said I wasn't a Christian.
  17. The power I would pick is teleportation, but to give it a twist it could allow the ability to enter the worlds of fiction so visiting Hogwarts, the Shire, Oz and even the Cosmere could be possible. In a way this would be Nightcrawler (X-Men) meets Inkspell. Another would be freezing time but a unique use would be freezing your own aging so that you're effectively immortal.
  18. And the only reason it's MJ here is that her name is Michelle Jones. To quote part of a quote you click in the selected quote and erase the parts you don't want. I'm a new Sharder as well so happy to help.
  19. I say this had to be the best Spidey film ever. I was surprised at how much more mature the language got and hearing the old school Spider-Man theme song at the beginning was great. Funnily the complaints I had heard was because she didn't have the red hair. Also despite being called MJ she isn't supposed to be Mary Jane but a different character altogether, at least that's what the BTS folks are saying. Hadn't seen her in anything before and I thought she was fun being sarcastic and looking disinterested in everything but actually isn't
  20. Recently I watched Power Rangers (the new guys) and the original Mummy from the 30's
  21. I'm mostly taking a break to get some reading in but the game I'm trying to finish is Lego Dimensions. I'm mostly just trying to get all the bricks for Lego City and Goonies before the next wave arrives in September and I can finally finish some of the previous worlds thanks to Raven and the Powerpuff Girls (I don't have Supergirl for Lantern Constructs for certain levels and worlds)
  22. Here's one where overall I did enjoy the series but was kind of let down in the end. Dorothy Must Die is a pretty good dystopian fantasy story but End of Oz was bogged down with too much romance that stopped the plot every time and the ending was a little ruined for me because the Barnes & Noble edition comes with an additional epilogue that completely undoes everything Amy worked to achieve by making it where Dorothy never came to Oz and thus the wicked witches are never killed and other nonsense things. I liked the books but I just hope it doesn't continue at this point since its starting to get into Fast & Furious and Transformers territory for me.
  23. I thought Peter said, either here or on Reddit, that the team handles it
  24. The books did get a little tiring with the whole gender politics thing, but since it was equal across the board I ignored it and found it funny at times. But that series has bigger problems than the gender politics going on.
  25. Yes, I just joined but was lurking for quite a while. I think its everything in our libraries, at least that's what I'm going to post when I grab some pictures.
