  1. I'm currently in Turks and Caicos (Wish you were here!) for a family reunion. Today we went to a weird little place called Half Moon Bay, on Little Cay Island. It's basically a giant sandbar; it doesn't get deeper than eight feet in any part. So we were running through a lake-sized inland pool of warm water that didn't come up past our waists, and my brother turns around and shouts, "It's the Purelake!"
  2. Is this theory or WoB? Where does it say that in the annotation?
  3. Really? I hadn't come across this WoB. That opens up so many possibilities for theorizing...
  4. So I've seen a lot of people here saying that the reason the tables of metals are so different in Era 1 and Era 2 is because Atium is a godmetal and doesn't count as one of the regular sixteen. But in HoA, 1/16 of the people with mist-sickness become Atium mistings. If Atium really counted differently, then either none of them should have been Atium mistings, or 1/18 of them should have been, for regular metlas + both godmetals. Because if Atium was one of the original sixteen, then so should have Lerasium. (I can't believe I signed up here mostly because this was nagging at me, then remembered to post all my Cosmere questions except this one).
  5. Nahel bonds get you a regular shardblade, but Szeth's new sword uses a Zahel bond.
  6. So Harmony is made up of two opposing Shards. As of MB era 2 Harmony is still mostly Sazed, as far as I understand, but over the years his shard's Intent is going to remake him into... something. I see four options as to what that something might be: 1. Ruin and Preservation Intents together pretty much cover all potential actions Harmony might take, so they cancel each other out. Future!Harmony stays Sazed inside and can do whatever he likes. (Pros: Adonalsium was all those conflicting proto-Intents at once. Cons: seems like too much of a narrative free lunch). 2. Pretty much all potential actions fall under either "conflicts with Ruin's Intent" or "conflicts with Preservation's Intent". Harmony ends up not really being able to do anything. He spends future eras basically sitting around on his thumbs. (Unlikely; sounds like a waste of the character). 3. Harmony can only take individual actions that are equal-parts Ruinous and... what's the word? Preservative? Preservation-y? Not technically as limiting as #2 (but still feels like a waste). 4. Harmony's actions have to average out being Ruinous and Preservation-y. So if he wants to, say, save a major city from a tornado, he can do so, but he'll have to cause an equal amount of destruction (either at once or cumulatively) somehow somewhere on Scadrial. (I find this one the most likely, if only because it seems like the scenario Sanderson can do the most with). What do you think? (sorry if I've used the wrong words or spelling; I don't have time to edit this properly)
  7. If a darkeyes bonds a Shardblade, turns lighteyed, and then somehow loses possession of the blade, would his eyes turn dark again? What if he becomes a KR and trades his dead blade for a live spren, do his eyes stay light all the time or *I've been mostly avoiding Oathbringer spoilers, but I couldn't resist reading that one chapter about his trip to Hearthstone. Ah need ma Kaladin fix!
