  1. I've noticed a small inconsistency in the first book that gets weirder every time I think about it. At the end, when Rand destroys all of those Trollocs, he gets there from the Eye of the World by just closing his eyes and wishing to be somewhere else. He does not mention a slash of light opening, or moving through anything, the way portals and deathgates work in later books. And, in the prologue, it sounds like Lews Therin does the same thing. Am I missing something, or is there another way to Travel that we don't know about?
  2. I started around Christmas last year, when I got 1-10, 12, and 13 (I still have to get the 11th). I was thinking it was convenient timing that the last one was almost out, but I guess I was a little early.
  3. Those threw me off guard when I noticed them, but they're cool. Is there a comprehensive list of the levels? All I know is that I'm an Awakener and anyone over 100 is a Shard.
  4. Wow. That's longer than I've been alive. How long has this series been in the making?
  5. AAARGH!!!!! I was hoping that he might release it sometime around when I finish the first 13, but not anymore. That stinks.
  6. That's quite funny. Actually, I was suggesting that he sees black spots with regular frequency. After all, he does spike people, so it's not that far of a jump to assume he may be a Darkfriend.
  7. I had no reasoning for any of them except electrum, which would have no point anyway, as stated. These ideas just sounded cool, and I didn't know about the temporal/mental thing at the time.
  8. That's what I meant.
  9. [sarcasm] Yeah, and we know how incredibly good he is at writing "stand alone" novels without creating a series...[/sarcasm]
  10. I'm halfway into The Crossroads of Twilight and it's not been a major plot element so far, so I don't think I gave away too much. Now, about a certain Brown sister...
  11. True point. But are we sure about Chaos?
  12. It seems that the shards themselves are non-gender entities, but their holders keep their original genders.

    Mistings

I would definitely be a coinshot. Then I'd sneak into my school at night and coat the concrete and buildings with a mixture of metal dust and watered-down superglue. Ultimate steeljumping area! And I'd lay down an allomantic highway home.
  14. Yeah, that's why I voted, but the Black Tower is just so much more awesome than the White, gender differences aside. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend all day blowing things up? And now that I finished the ninth book and saidin is clean, the danger element is gone, so I won't go (more) crazy!
  15. Why just the One Power? Do you have something against the True Power? This is coming from the guy who made a mindtrap on his spare time... And has Nae'blis as his "Member Title"... I am Rahvin reborn!!!
  16. I've always thought of Endowment as female, but I don't have a good reason to support it. It just seems natural.
  17. When did that happen? I thought we were still guessing?
  18. Ok, that was incredibly funny. Where in Cali is Brandon coming? I'd love to go...
  19. Especially Chaos ; ) A warm welcome to you, Telcontar. I'm newish too, been here a month.
  20. I have a gift card, just haven't had time to hit a bookstore. I probably will soon, now that finals are over.
  21. That reminds me of a Chuck Norris joke... or should I say Jasnah.
  22. Marsh burns tin in HoA to see better, but that's probably a mistake since he doesn't see with eyes.
  23. Aha! Thanks.
  24. I'm a cross country runner and a swimmer. I am 20 percent underweight. I have a tan. But I never said I'm not a nerd. Nerds can be physically fit. And tan. Afterthought: A warm welcome to you, Nihilum. You should post your name in the Pronunciation Guide. I can't pronounce it.
  25. PS: How do you do that spoiler thing? I thought I had it right.
