You holding it is not binding it, but you might not need to bond the Honor blades to use their surges

@snoo Also remember how many people are broken in this world. Any tragedy can cause it (however we've seen much more extreme examples) perhaps for Renarin it was losing his mother on top of his epilepsy.. People have issues everywhere I am betting Roshar is exactly the same as earth in that respect (ok ok except we don't deal with highstorms every week)

Wait Skybreakers? Do we know that any of this order's spren are alive? So it only follows that perhaps they still continue as a sect under Naln, but for all intensive purposes the order of Radiants that was known as the skybreakers is as dead as the windrunners until we find ahigh spren that bonds with one... Perhaps it was For the same reason as the Heralds...

I think Sebarial is the Demigod son of Wit ( the Shard of Humor) and that his plan is to be the opposite of his father instead of sly stories and slight elbow bumps that change the course of history he shall of course be blatant, non manipulative, and of course on occasion flatulent.

Remember! Bondsmiths have tensionn and adhesion so perhaps this gave his plate more strength then usual Allowing him to increase the tensile strength of his plate. Also this is my favorite scene in the books just because of the desperate bravery involved, and how it really showed me for the first time how strong the bond between Dalinar and Gavilar really was. EDIT: Also if he decreased the tensile strength and upped the flexibility this could explain the extra speed along with the normal stormlight enhanced bodies of Radiants.
