  1. 1) That's a relief. My theory is back on! Edit: it was never broken; only a part of it was changed 2) I originally thought trellium was an alloy of atium and a base metal, but an alloy with another God metal makes sense, since harmony can't detect it, so it shouldn't be from preservation or ruin, but more than one spike resulted in harmony being able to control the wearer, so part of it being made of atium makes sense (I'm assuming trellium is the metal Paalm used to make hemalurgic spikes for herself. Is this true?).
  2. What if 'the lost metal' is referring to lerasium? I mean, the last we've seen of it is when Elend became a Mistborn while burning it
  3. Actually, wouldn't it be something a bit more like since for every shard's metal you could get alloys of it, then take another shard's metal and make alloys of that, then alloy together the different metals and alloys to make new alloys that can be burned
  4. Nice. I would never have thought of that (sarcasm unintended)
  5. What I meant was, it's so volatile because of the overlaying powers (preservation and ruin), rather than for other, more mundane reasons
  6. Actually, I was thinking that only alloys of atium can steal multiple abilities, since hemalurgy is of ruin and so is atium, and since alloys of lerasium give misting powers, alloys of atium should be able to steal multiple abilities/power/attributes Still, a large part of my theory wiped out. What number do you think ruin has?
  7. I recently came up with the idea that an alloy of harmonium and lerasium would give a person feruchemy if they tapped it. Eventually, with some outside help, I adjusted it to be atium and lerasium. This theory is similar, but I think lerasium giving feruchemy is a bit of a wild shot. First, lerasium wouldn't affect feruchemy the same way it doesn't affect hemalurgy. Similarly, atium doesn't affect allomancy or feruchemy that much, but is extremely useful in hemalurgy. The same way, harmonium would be a much safer bet for this theory (although still not foolproof), or a mixture of atium and lerasium, which would be much better because feruchemy is a mixture of preservation and ruin, so a mixture of the two god metals would make sense. However, I still prefer harmonium as it is a separate element and it has ruin and preservation in it, rather than being a mixture of the two
  8. Perhaps his true weakness is obscurity, or not being known? Not being feared is within the definition of not being known, so not being feared would affect Steelheart, but it might not be his epic weakness. Also, you don't remember everything as well as you think you do, so even though David thinks he saw Steelheart was incapable for only a few seconds, it might actually have been much longer.
  9. Oops just necroposted soz
  10. In Calamity, it's revealed that Prof's weakness is failure, but David doesn't make Prof fail to negate his powers, rather, he just reminded Prof that he had failed by becoming evil, killing his own team and killing Tia. Similarly, all you would have to do in this situation is remind the Epic that they killed their children.
  11. B.T.W. My username basically means 'Vin Reborn' since Valette was Vin's alias and Renaitre is French for Reborn In case you're wondering
  12. However, The thing about feruchemy is that it is end neutral, and so would a 50-50 mixture of atium and lerasium. So, it would have to be made of more lerasium than atium. However, this isn't a problem, since most alloys only have 1-2% impurities, sometimes less. The more atium there is, the less potent the feruchemy (since the atium negates the lerasium)
  13. OK btw I did it seperately because they came out as two seperate ideas/thoughts, rather than for any other reason P.S. I'll still keep that in mind
  14. Yeah, um, thing is, 16 x 18 = 288, not 272 Also, I realised that, but it was while I was in the park, so I couldn't upload it till I got back, by which time you posted the above
  15. It could be an alloy with lerasium, so that way it gifts something, so the rules of feruchemy aren't broken and neither are the rules of allomancy (the harmonium isn't giving the ability, but the lerasium isn't giving allomancy, rather, it is giving feruchemy, similar to how burning pewter with lerasium makes you a pewterarm/thug. Putting it another way, the alloy is giving (preservation/lerasium) feruchemy (harmony/harmonium, since it is end neutral) P.S. A big thank you to 8bitBob and Yata for helping me refine my theory
  16. Or it could be an alloy of harmonium
  17. ignore this
  18. Basically, yes, and it gifts feruchemy to whoever taps it
  19. I've read the way of Kings part 1 & 2, and I've had a scoot around coppermind.net, although mostly I was just looking at the Mistborn part. I've heard of the cosmere, but I don't really get it. I understand that Adonalsium split it into 16 shards, but I don't really get much else
  20. So you've got the 16 base metals, and 3 God metals (this doesn't include Trellium, as we aren't really sure what it is). Since allomancy is of preservation, each God metal presumably has 16 allomantic alloys. So, there are 64 metals, plus the three God metals (or the three God metals are part of their 16, I'm not totally sure) so, there are 67 (or 64) allomantic metals altogether. However, since all allomantic metals can be used for feruchemy and hemalurgy, all 67 of these metals are used in all three metallic arts. However, since atium and lerasium are exceedingly rare, or even nonexistent, most of these metals will never be used (unless Harmony makes more atium and lerasium, which is unlikely). However, you might have more metals for each Shard, so there are 16 shards, times that by sixteen per god metal, and you get 256 metals. Add the 16 base metals and the 16 god metals and you get 288 metals, plus you might be able to mix the different shards (like harmony is preservation and ruin) and get new god metals to make more sets of 16 alloys
  21. I'm not saying that ettmetal isn't harmonium, both of the other god metals were exceedingly rare and named after the original holder of the shard. Neither harmonium nor ettmetal fits these criteria. What I'm proposing is a new metal altogether, called Sazedium or sazium
  22. If you've read coppermind.net as thoroughly as I have, you'll know that for hemalurgy to work, the spike has to pierce the bloodstream (although it might just be me remembering incorrectly)
  23. It might just be a different metal though. The only known cache of lerasium was burned 300 years ago by Elend, and the only known existing atium in the whole of Scadrial is in Marsh(Ironeyes)'s pouch. So it could just be another really rare metal that is more stable than harmonium
  24. Don't really have a clue what you're talking about
