Most likely, if harmonium is a combination of lerasium and atium, then if it was used in a nuclear reaction, it would most likely be a nuclear fission (since its probably heavier than iron 56, the key isotope of iron), where, when hit by a proton, the harmonium will split into lerasium, atium, some heat and three protons. These protons set off three more reactions, which set off three more reactions each., setting of a huge chain reaction. The fission could be used to get some lerasium and atium, but it could have been destroyed in the blast. However, on a smaller scale, it could be used to get small amounts of lerasium and atium, so the metals may not be lost forever (yay!).

New (possible) allomantic/feruchemical/hemalurgic metals?
Lord Bookwyrm replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
Yeah, but I made a few calculations on the page before, and it would be closer to 64-7 than 48-51 (I think) -
If you were a twinborn, what would you like to be?
Lord Bookwyrm replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
Although being able to use feruchemical atium would be nice as well, since it's like using a disguise and being able to stay young in the same metal. You can look like you're 60 to be able to do all kinds of stuff with a reduced price (since you're a senior citizen) or, if you want to go into this place, but it's cheaper if you're under twelve, you could make yourself twelve and then go in. Also, if you're a criminal, do it while you're old, then all the witnesses and photos taken will look like the old you, not the real you. So many uses of feruchemy, it's actually amazing.- 155 replies

If you were a twinborn, what would you like to be?
Lord Bookwyrm replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
Yeah. Beign able to reread a book without remembering what was in it... A dream come true. Also, whenever you forget what happened in a part of the book, instead of having to reread the whole book, you could just take the memory out of the coppermind. Bliss. And here's what you want to be able to use in allomancy: you want to be a lerasium misting, in other words a full mistborn- 155 replies

New (possible) allomantic/feruchemical/hemalurgic metals?
Lord Bookwyrm replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
So if that theory is true, then the cosmere is going to go through a lot of expansion pretty soon. Otherwise, either the metals will stay unfound (which would be a huge pity) or the cosmere will be going on for a veeeery long time. Not that that's a bad thing, but it kind of scares me to think that I'll have wait decades for the final metals to come out. Not to mention that I'll have to spend a FORTUNE on books. Not a very nice prospect. -
What happens when you put the metallic arts together
Lord Bookwyrm replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
What? Did you only just realise? I thought you were better than that. I thought you would have realised by now that normal logic doesn't work on me. I bought a ward against it from a travelling merchant. That makes me different from you, which makes me weird. But that shouldn't be true, since logic doesn't work on me. So, you're wrong, I'm not weird. Also, since some of the books I want to read aren't in my school's library, I have to use some other method of finding out what happens in the books I read, and that other method is spoilers, but since most people in my school have never heard of BS, this website is an ideal alternative. Sometimes I use the look inside feature on amazon, though. Also, you could have found out my gender by looking at my profile. But, I could have been misleading you, so you don't really know for sure (although I really am male). -

But 'if your allomancy and feruchemy share a metal, you can access it tenfold' from alloy of law Chapter 11. Wouldn't that mean you can store it nine times without forgetting it? -

What happens if you spike a kandra with a bronze spike from a rioter? Will they be able to riot people's emotions, discrediting the thing that TenSoon/OreSeur said about kandra not being able to use allomancy? -
I've noticed a few things while reading the coppermind and reading the mistborn novels, and they don't really make sense. If you melt a metal, the attribute of it still remains, but make an alloy of it and the attribute disappears. Now, what would happen if you got two different tinminds, each with a different sense stored in them, melted them and put the two pieces of molten metal together? Technically, you haven't made an alloy, so both the senses are still there. However, since you can't have two senses in a single tinmind, what happens? Can you feruchemically store in a hemalurgically charged spike? Is lerasium a metal that stores allomancy? How does compounding copper work? Could you burn duramlumin while storing to store faster? Can you burn a metal and store the allomancy as investiture in a nicrosilmind? If storing in an aluminiummind while storing makes a metalmind identityless, what if you tap an aluminiummind during active storage? What happens if you tap zinc while storing copper? What happens if you spike the shardholder of preservation with an atium spike, or make the shardholder of ruin burn lerasium? If you have spotted any other discrepancies or if you have any answers to the questions asked here, feel free to post Forum rules: please don't swear, necroposting is allowed and so is double-posting, have fun!

Geniuses Wanted- Well Read Sanderfans -with restrictions
Lord Bookwyrm replied to 1stBondsmith's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Feruchemy could be gifted (of want of a better term) by a metal, similar to how lerasium gifts allomancy and atium steals any power in hemalurgy. As h and atium are of ruin and a and lerasuim are of preservation, the thing that gifts feruchemy must be a mix of p and r, hence harmonium, since f and hm are both of harmony. However, hm doesn't gift feruchemy, we have to change this theory slightly. Perhaps hm is the god metal of feruchemy, and you can store any attribute in it, and an alloy of l and hm gifts feruchemy when burned, similar to how burning l with pewter makes you a thug, or burning l with tin makes you a tineye. An alternative theory is that an alloy of l and at gifts feruchemy, since the two balance each other out as harmony. f is also of harmony, so that also makes sense. -

So, you have the 16 base metals 16 and you have a god metal per shard 16+16=32 and god metals have alloys, presumably 16 per god metal, to follow the pattern of allomancy 16+16+(16x16)=288 allomantic metals, all which can be used in hemalurgy and feruchemy as well! In addition to this, some shards can merge to make new god metals, so you could get even more metals! -
Couldn't it be elemen 119, 136, 153, 170,etc.? We don't really know what the limits of atoms are, since there are supposed islands of stability, and also, in the cosmere, things are differnet to what we experience here on earth, e.g. temperatures may be higher, higher pressures. This would result in different ways of life to evolve and determines how stable an atom is, or how it's structured (I think). So, we might not be able to link the metals on Scadrial to the metals here on Earth, since everything is different. For example, here on Earth, diamonds are rare, but on a planet with high pressure and a high temperature, diamonds would be abundant and ice 1 (the type of ice we have on Earth, there are more than 17 types in total) would be nonexistent. Rather, you would find ice X, which freezes at 439 degrees C

If you were a twinborn, what would you like to be?
Lord Bookwyrm replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
Since Lerasium is the ultimate metal in allomancy, both of which are preservation. Atium is the ultimate metal for hemalurgy, both of which are from ruin. As follows, harmonium must be the ultimate metal for feruchemy, since both are from harmony. I haven't really decided what this means yet, possibly it means you can store any attribute in it. So, a lerasium/harmonium thing would be the best twinborn ability, since you can literally compound anything. However, compounding it wouldn't really work, since it explodes in contact with water. Perhaps swallowing a capsule of it coated in a non reactive coating of oil?- 155 replies

But with chromium, you can wipe someone else's reserves (which can be really useful at times, trust me) and you get LUCKY! zinc/zinc and pewter/pewter could actually be quite useful at times as well. For example, you get super buffed, or you think twice as fast everyone else all the time. I mean, who wouldn't want that?- 155 replies

But an equal amount of investiture is coming from preservation, so the original amount of atium has to be produced
-
Since there is still a large part of Preservation in allomancers and regular people alike, for the balance to remain inside harmony, the part of Ruin has to go somewhere is Ruin, and that somewhere is (probably) atium. So yes, I think atium is still being produced, just on a smaller scale, since there are less humans than there were and allomantic power has decreased over time.

What type of twinborn would you like to be? Personally, I would like to be a chromium compounder, as then I would be able to be really lucky (Jackpot!). earning £10m every time I do the lottery. Lol, that would be so funny... Although gold compounder would be pretty good too... To see the full list of feruchemical and allomantic abilities, see the metal magic quick reference chart I made down below, or go to coppermind.net to find it. Mostly, I'm talking about compounders, but just about anything could be possible. Actually, being a lerasium allomancer and a soulbearer ferring would make your allomancy really strong... But that's just my thoughts. What do you think? Ars Arcanum Metal Magic Quick Reference Chart.docx

WRONG. That's why, with more than one hemalurgic spike made of trellium, harmony can sense it. -
