Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.

Why were you so resistant in PMs to trust me? That was the main reason that I suspected you of being an elim...- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
Yitzi2 replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wait, couldn't Oh, I knew you weren't thinking of making me honorary elim. (That phrasing was too suspicious.) I actually wanted you to know that I was more supicious of Ornstein, as I was hoping that you would therefore expect us to trip you or Ornstein and therefore have Orlok send in the kill...and Orlok was the trip target. How did the knowledge of whom I was more suspicious of win you the game? Also, what was the real reason you asked me my favorite color?- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
Yitzi2 replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"Yitzi" is a shortened form of my real name; the first account I made on 17th Shard was lost to a bad password recovery system (I didn't get the email even with multiple retries), hence "Yitzi2". Here's a bigger one: There were 4 elims and then you recruited one, for 5 in total: BR, DB, you, Lopen, and I presume Ornstein (your post when he came back sounds in retrospect a lot like admonishing a teammate, just as you did to DB at the end of last cycle). Of those 5, which was the convert?- 395 replies

Yes, I would hope it would be obvious. Next question: Do you currently have the power Bad at Math? (Not that it can have much effect on swinging the vote; it costs your own vote to use it, so it won't let you overcome 3 people voting in unison.)- 395 replies

Ok, that is an acceptable game, on the condition that if you do lie we consider that a forfeit on your part. (Please state whether you accept those terms.) And let's even make it reciprocal: After each question you answer (not "PAFO"), you can ask a question of me, on the same terms. (Though I will be unavailable for the next hour or so, starting soon.) To start: Please name three living characters who are not Hushlanders. EDIT: (Also, if you're not going to answer a question, please say so so that I can ask the next.)- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
Yitzi2 replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
True. Nevertheless, it drew attention, and I would have avoided it. In any case, I don't think it's a good idea for us to put too much consideration on what you have to say, now that we know you're an elim, and you know we know you're an elim. At least I don't think I can get much advantage from a case like this...- 395 replies

It also eventually led to him being outed as a librarian, which was one of the major reasons I ended up not trusting him and arranging the knight kill on him.- 395 replies

1. No, but trying to divert a lynch from someone now known to be innocent onto someone now known to be guilty does. 2. Or just overly trusting. It's probably the strongest point against her, but I still think it's outweighed by the points for her. 3. Tripping someone else and having someone without a role (or someone whose role is not being used, i.e. BR) send in the kill is even better. Or even "tripping" an elim who isn't taking an action, so as to not draw attention to a fellow elim via him saying "I was tripped, but that's not why the elim kill is not present".- 395 replies

And the fact that you and Lopen posted right at the end, right when it would clearly be too late for the village to react, and Lopen was ready to take advantage of it at a moment...that's all just coincidence? Elbereth. Also, it should be noted that in PM, Steph thought Jedal was innocent and Elbereth was a more likely candidate, and she tripped Lopen early on when he was trying to scan, so she is EXTREMELY unlikely to be an elim.- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
Yitzi2 replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Joe: If a librarian is tripped, and someone scans them, what do they show as? A non-librarian, or "you cannot obtain a valid result"? EDIT: Joe just clarified that they are still visible. (Also, Rand mentioned that Orlok is inactive for medical reasons, so that may impact on things.) Some thoughts: -Queensteph and Randuir apparently traded role info. That would imply that if QS were an elim, Rand would look like a much less attractive kill target, so I am inclined to trust QS. -We have established that I, Rand, and Hero are all trustworthy. -BR was ok with killing Ornstein, and Orlok is away for medical reasons and therefore likely to be irrelevant anyway. That leaves Lopen, Elbereth, and Jedal. Lopen is a bit iffy; on the one hand, BR tried to kill Rand once Lopen was on top; that might have been to get Droughtbringer to the top successor slot, but it could have been that Lopen himself was an elim. On the other hand, DB tried to cast suspicion on Lopen, like he did for Rand (whom we have established to be innocent). Apparently the Lopen-suspicion was in public, though, so that may have just been trying to ensure one of them would not be suspected. Elbereth has given fairly solid advice, and while an elim might do that, I'm inclined to think that Jedal is the best lynch candidate.- 395 replies

Now, for some numbers-based analysis: -Assuming Rand is village and there are no double-lynches or missed kills due to inactivity or tripping, we can afford a single mislynch/miskill. If Rand is elim (highly unlikely), we can afford a second. -If QS blocks an elim kill, we can afford two misses as long as they aren't both this cycle. If she blocks a knight kill, we can still afford one miss, but it can't be this cycle.- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
Yitzi2 replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
If Rand were an elim, he and BR could have done far more damage at the time they were both Knights. Furthermore, if Rand is an elim, we effectively get a free kill on an elim (they need every member even more than we do), making that the less dangerous situation by far. Likewise, as was stated, if Hero was an elim, they could have just won, no need for subterfuge. (Unless QS and Lopen are the other two elims, but if that's a consideration better to target them first.) Be aware that the theorizing about Lopen's knowing he was tripped was largely my doing in PM, though Rand apparently blames himself for not catching the possibility of "librarian scan". At the end of the day, assuming one lynch, one knight kill, and one elim kill, we will have 5 players left; we like odd numbers, so let's avoid double kills this round (even leaving aside the danger of elim manipulation). It is possible that there are no librarian elims, but if so, why would they have started by taking out librarians...for that matter, how would they have found them? BR was ok with a knight kill on Ornstein (what she thought was the plan last cycle), so I don't think he's guilty. More to come.- 395 replies

By the way, given that I am now confirmed village (if I were elim, I could have gone with BR as to the knight kill and won the game), I would like to ask everybody who can to send me a PM with their alignment and role (and anything else they care to share); maybe I'll be able to figure out what roles are on which side and maybe someone will slip up again. EDIT: I do not think this would be a good move, as it would make the elims know who's the next knight. Better to send me the application.- 395 replies

Ok, as promised last cycle, it is time for full disclosure. With that, I present QF23: Secret History: And that's the reason for my switching back and forth on Ecth, and also the reason that I am now (particularly now that my chain of reasoning about the existence of a leak has been shown to be correct) voting for Droughtbringer. I would also request that, if the tripper is village, they seriously consider protecting me this round, as the elims are apparently gunning for knights now.- 395 replies

Since the behavior was brought up as suspicious, and my explanation was a bit odd, I didn't want it to be taken the wrong way. For the double-posts: Do you know what the official rules are about when it's been long enough and/or important enough to be ok to double-post? What I was doing was actually the opposite of mayoring *if I understand the term correctly); it's close enough to next cycle that the full explanation can wait until then.- 395 replies
