Yesterday felt like she'd just been here...yesterday... ~~ OK folks, I think we're all on board with the general rules of the game at this point. One of things I didn't get a chance to weigh in on in the original iteration of the game, Spy, don't be afraid to 'bus' a villager if you're just going to draw a ton of attention to yourself by defending them. Other than that, rollover time is at a slightly weird time for me (7am), so I'll probably bounce back and forth between hopping on right before rollover and not being seen for about the 9 hours prior. (I'll try to do more of the former)

You sure you didn't get redirected and accidentally watch Elbereth sacrifice someone? The response Elandera gave me when I attacked myself was pretty clear, but I'm not sure how it would look if the action scan got redirected. That may have been a bit less clear. -

Rathinald here. ~~ Uhhh, guys? Are you sure you don't want to change your votes over to Elbereth. I'm serious, this is a trap! -

Rathinald was in a cage. Other than some...rather graphic...rituals he'd been a part of, he'd never been in a cage before. The waiting was the worst. Why wouldn't they just get it over with? -

Rathinald here. ~~ Well, now that my pendant is gone, I guess I'll have to rely on my silver bones to save me from the lynch since it seems I'm not going to convince anyone to change their vote. I feel like this is all just one big attempt by Elbereth to frame me. -
Would you want to add stilling to the list of actions? That could be interesting... (I know, that's making things more complicated instead of balancing things out...)

Long Game 60: The Shadow Over the Forests of Hell

Rathinald here. ~~ Oh yeah, I have silver bones as well... And a pendant? -
Yes had been hoping to go on an adventure. Her brother Tom always seemed to be seeing exciting new places while she was always the one documenting boring old meetings and such. Even her brother Tod seemed to be able to experience more just living in the moment. But here she was, taking notes while a bunch of dusty old men talked about something that should be retired to the history books. When she returned home, Yes was ready to call it a night. No need for dinner...not like you really expended much energy when you were just taking notes. As she was just about to dim the room, she noticed something sticking out of her dresser drawer: The Frozen Moon. She'd never been there. Wasn't really her type of place. But...an anonymous note...a secret meetup...this might be the adventure she'd been waiting for. ~~ Yes had mostly stayed off to the side at the meeting. She was used to that role, always observing, taking notes. When the body was discovered, she was shocked, but her instincts took over quickly and she began looking around the room to see other reactions. She'd be able to look at the body more closely later...the reactions wouldn't be there once everyone got a chance to compose themselves. ~~ So it seems we have a mostly vanilla elim team aside from the assassination ability. I do find it interesting that the Striker has the ability to protect someone from the lynch. Venture, in case you're curious about El's comment...the assassination ability is only available to the last surviving Agent. So, random musing... Is it going to be better if we lynch the spy? Like, is it game-breaking if the spy comes out and provides us the names of all the Agents, we lynch the agents but make sure to lynch the spy while there are still two agents left? I guess it's not quite that simple since the elim team could pretend to be spy/handler...but that could have been fun. OK, carry on. OK, I'm trying to think where this could still be a viable strategy... You know...it still might. If someone comes out with that information, we just lynch them both times necessary. If they're elim, OK, fine...if they're spy, we have it. Am I missing something in the rules that would prevent this strategy? Edit: Nope, doesn't work. Sorry. Spy immune to lynch means they'll be available to assassinate at the end. My bad.

Long Game 60: The Shadow Over the Forests of Hell
Rathmaskal replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rathinald here. ~~ lol, no, just saying I would probably come to the same conclusion if I were you. Devotary is hard-cleared. There's definitely at least one elim active enough to submit kills, so assuming you are village (which you wouldn't have to consider in your logic) you're going to assume that's me since xino and Hats have both seemed to have mostly disappeared from the game. It's close to the same reason I've come to the conclusion that Hats is The Founder. I guess it's possible that either of the two named roles weren't actually included in the game (there doesn't seem to be a bounty hunter either, either that or you or xino has just decided to forego your wincon), which would definitely bring you back into the fold for potential elims...but I'm not sold on that unless either xino or Hats flips village. -

Rathinald here. ~~ Your logic is sound, yes. As for the action, Elandera didn't say anything back regarding that action. Probably just ignored my request. Yes, I know that's not very helpful, but it is what it is. -

Rathinald here again. ~~ I can still go insane, just not from the passive chance, and I have a reduced chance from any actions. Edit: Ahhh, so, I think I'm seeing where the suspicion on me lies. One of you tracked me last night - I had a Pallid Mask that I got from lynching Ark, so I said I used Mists of Releh, but you saw no action returned. I hadn't initially been told that the mask was used, but Elandera just mentioned that to me via PM. @Devotary of Spontaneity @Elbereth (tagged since I'm editing, so I want to make sure you see this) -

Rathinald here again. ~~ Hmmm, I see your point. Hats I guess you're saying I need to figure out who to redirect and onto whom since you and El can't perform actions, eh? I'm not sure whether to announce in thread who I'm going to attempt to redirect though in case both of them ARE active. Edit: Oh, it's the day turn...you'll have action for night, right? Cool. -
Long Game 60: The Shadow Over the Forests of Hell
Rathmaskal replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rathinald here. ~~ As I had mentioned in thread, I was just going to use on you or Venture since it was a fairly safe play... I used on Venture and redirected to myself. No, I was just returning information that had already been shared in thread. Like I said, I'm thinking that Hats is the most likely Founder and Hats hasn't been in thread in quite some time. A no-lynch today is almost as bad as a mislynch. Right now, with 5 players, we're at 3-2 village. If we don't get a good lynch off today, the night kill comes in and I'm assuming we lose at 2-2? Basically, if there was an active Founder, I'm pretty sure the game would have been called as soon as you went insane this round. (Or maybe regardless?) -

Rathinald here. ~~ I just used Discover the Hidden on Sart and then Mists of Releh last night...so not much. As for the Necronomicon clue. Wow. I believe Elandera at some point mentioned that this clue would have been the same regardless of when the Necronomicon was used, otherwise I'd say that was confirmation that the Deep One specifically was active: @Devotary of Spontaneity - any thoughts? -
Long Game 60: The Shadow Over the Forests of Hell
Rathmaskal replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rathinald here. Hello...I'm not sure what your name is...I agree with most of your conclusion, other than thinking I'm evil Have you any idea how much evil I've managed to root out of villages just like this one? If it weren't for me, SEton would be a ghost town. EllGeeville would have been swallowed by the forest as its last citizens were eaten by werewolves. ~~ From my perspective, assuming both The Deep One and The Founder are active, it has to be Enasni and Kill-sin Pimple, unless I'm missing something. I was planning on voting on Enasni to try to get the more active of the two out of here, but obviously if you're sold on those possibilities, Kill-sin Pimple is a valid vote as well. Kill-sin Pimple being one of the elims kind of makes sense too since I'm fairly certain one of the elims has to be inactive at this point, otherwise this game would be done. In fact, I'm betting on Kill-sin Pimple being The Founder. We can't really afford any mislynch at this point, so if you think xino is a better target, I'm willing to listen. I'll go ahead and claim - I'm a vanilla villager with Iron Will. I guess I've just been lucky? enough on the few actions I've taken to not go insane. @Elandera or @Snipexe - can the Necronomicon clue be copy/pastaed? I'd like to see the entire thing. -

Rathinald here again. I'll use Mists of Releh. Looks like that has the highest chance of making me go insane. I just need to figure out who to use it on and who to target their actions. I guess I could use it on you or Devotary if I want to be safe since you are both insane. The only thing I'm concerned with is the fact that if I do go insane, I won't be able to use any actions at night. True... Devotary's point is also extremely valid - if we don't find The Founder, we could run into the situation where they're able to use their vote manipulation to hijack Devotary's extra vote and hammer that way. -

Rathinald here. Arr. K Thousantoo for reasons outlined during the night turn. So, great news. Assuming both The Deep One and The Founder are in the game, this should be a fairly easy village win now. -

Long Game 60: The Shadow Over the Forests of Hell
Rathmaskal replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rathinald here. Fade, your query was a valid one prior to this evening. However, with the obvious sacrifice of Ruthful to convert someone to the cult's evil deeds, it's clear that old woman's theories must be discounted! It is most likely false, but in my extensive experiences working to bring down cults such as this, I've found that cultist's may sprinkle a note of truth to their lies. We find ourselves at a crossroads my friends. Unfortunately for us all, everyone who was relatively cleared prior to this evening must now come under renewed scrutiny. However, we must not abandon the work we've done to find the creatures who are behind this cult. If we continue to focus on the true evil of The Founder and The Deep One, we may yet find ourselves in a position where we can overcome this evil! OK, so continuing on my line of thought from earlier today, and knowing full well that some of the people who were cleared may not be so now, we have the following people as potential deep one/founder candidates: Enasni Rathinald (me) Tim (dead) Fade (Half-cleared) Kill-sin Pimple Mindful (Thief turned village) Arr. K Thousantoo Honestly folks, this should be as simple as throwing darts at a dart board. One thing that no one has mentioned yet - one vote was cleared changed from Tim to Lord Ghent. Most people I'm thinking are in agreement that Lord Ghent is the governor, so that is one of two possibilities: An elim voted on Tim but really wanted to vote on Lord Ghent The Founder was active and moved someone's vote Votes on Tim: Patrick Punnington Rathinald Mindful Arr. K Thousantoo Patrick is in fact bodyguard to Lord Ghent, so I don't see any situation where he changed his own vote. I didn't use an action, but can't prove that at all. Mindful we know wasn't an elim at that time. I'm starting to wonder about Arr. though. He was around near the end of the day, but not necessarily the very end when Mindful voted for Tim and Tim moved his vote away from Lord Ghent. This changed the math from 3-2 Tim to 4-1 Tim, changing the situation away from where a single vote swap would have affected the result of the lynch. Arr is also on the (now rather short) list of candidates for The Deep One and The founder. Unless someone has a better idea, I'm thinking that's where my focus will lie come morning. -

Rathinald here Seems like a lot of variance in the votes so far: CadCom (4) - Fifth, Araris, Venture, Rath, Ark Xino (1) - Cadcom, Araris Devotary (1) - CadCom, Araris Venture (0) - Rath Looks like Devotary beat me to the vote count.
