  1. Words of Radiance: Shallan WoR: Szeth WoR: Jasnah Warbreaker Mistborn Era 1 BoM: Wayne
  2. Did you mean Bendalloy/Zinc? Cause I would definitely pick that. But Cadmium mistings are Pulsers like Marasi, which are rarely useful in Era 2. So I would go "Steel/Pewter". Would you rather be a Twinborn trapped on Nathlis, or an Awakener of the 3rd Heightening trapped on Scardinal?

  5. Has it been confirmed if all humans in the Cosmere age at the same rate, or is it planet specific? To quote Coppermind: ●Each week is five days, so the year in Roshar is 500 days, ultimately defined by the time between two Weepings.[4]Although the Rosharan year is 500 days long, these days are shorter than on Earth and a Rosharan year is equivalent to 1.1 Earth years.[5][6] ●And we know Scardinal is the closest Shard world to being like Earth. If Kaladin was about 18 Weepings during WoR, would he be physically comparable to a 16 year 4 month Scardinalian/Earthling? Or would he be physically 18 and age 10% faster than a Earthling?
  6. When reading Edgedancer I thought Lift was describing a Biochromatic aura. In her "Lift dialect". I hadn't considered only she could see the after image
  7. What was Tavi's weakness? Her powers countered Prof's, and were likewise countered by his. I don't recall a point in the fight where she completely lost her powers (but I plan to check when I get home). Could the Reckoners (with Prof's help) defeat "Firefight", if Megan accepted her dimensional powers? [Sorry if I led the conversation dowe the rabbit hole by questioning if weaknesses still exist]
  8. 5 and 6 are just numbers. I'm assuming the book is Core 1, and firefight is Core 2. But I didn't want to step on Sanderson's toes as 3 and 4 will likely show up in later books. It's 50/50. It hasn't been confirmed or denied by the author. (Though keeping the weaknesses would be more balanced) But under the basis: no calamity = no weaknesses. How would Epics like Steelheart (who would be a villain with or without the Darkness) be stopped by humans and good Epics? And of course:
  9. I was wondering what would happen if Megan was evil. Core Possibility 5: Setting similar to Book 1; but instead of being a reluctant Epic, Megan is a High Epic in all her glory. She would have the proficiency with her powers she attained at the end of Book 3 and also be a fearless self-reincarnation Prime Invciciblity. I would be surprised if "Firefight" wasn't ruling Newcago with Steelheart as her right hand Core Possibility 6: Calamity left after creating Epics, thus no weaknesses. However, Steelheart not Blaine got the power, and Megan and Nightwielder still transformed Newcago.
  10. Well a DC comic equivalent was Superman verses his evil alternate reality Ultraman. Superman won based on fight experience as Ultraman normally just killed his opponent, thus never really learning how to properly fight a tough enemy.
  11. I know this an old thread, but I just found it and have a few epic ideas. Epic 1 of 3. 1. Powers: Sandman- can put anyone in his line of sight asleep for exactly 60 minutes (unless epic power prevents this). Elm Street-able to manipulate the dreams of sleeping people, requiring touch of victim or victims as he can create shared dreaming. He can, and usually does, increase "dream time" making the recipient experience up to 1p times longer dreams than actually asleep. Sleep tight- a person (or himself if he looks in a mirror) affected by Sandman is immune to physical harm. 2. Weakness: Oxymoron. If he hears one, such as "that girl is pretty, ugly"; "want to try some giant, shrimp"; or "holy hell", he loses all powers for 1 hour. 3. Name is Blackwell, though will go by Boogie man. Those that call him Sandman, become victims to his powers. 4. Blackwell wears jeans and a superhero shirt in a ironic way. Sometimes sports a fedora, which of course is Black. 5. Evil: Living Nightmare- goes around inducing sever physiological trauma by creating horrors in his victim's dreams. Or causing car accidents where his victims survives with the guilt of what their vehicle does while they sleep. He occasionally works for other Epics using dream manipulation to train foot soliders.
  12. Yup, having investitures would definitely help kill Epics. But learning there weakness is still 90% of the plan. Besides, the Reckoners would think you were an Epic too, if you Light weave, Riot, etc. Sadly!
  13. This I didn't know. If I had more time to browse Reddit and Coppermind, perhaps. Apparently I am incorrect about Marasi. I suppose I didn't want to accept that my favorite author would repeat tropes in a series, without a deeper meaning. And forced a connection that was actually superficial. @king of nowhere, thanks for the effort in discussing my permise. @CaptainRyan, no need to be exclusive.
  14. Sigh...With that detour over. If anyone would like to discuss theory? Edit: or should I just start a new topic to discuss the Beyond/afterlife?
  15. If you feel my post required clarification, I would prefer you ask. To clarify, I was comparing personality of the Marasi and Vin (especially Vin circa Well of Ascension). Wax and Wayne are inaccurately compared as only there Physical realm are similar. We don't know much about the Beyond after death, a person's Spiritual aspect may return after a time
  16. The Era 2 character Marasi is Very similar to Era 1 character Vin, more so than simply being inspired by the "Ascended Warrior" could be credited. Examples: Her love of dresses despite her unitarian beliefs on clothing, and her initial attractive to an older man followed by a romance with a man from a different culture. I have a few theories: 1. Sanderson gave Marasi these character traits as a 'easter egg' to fans of the first Trilogy. 2. Sazed missed Vin, and used Harmony's power to memorialize her in people born on his planet. 3. This is a possible indication of Reincarnation in the Cosmere. 4. You tell me?
  17. I suppose if they believe it can't work, then it won't. "The power of negative thinking!" lol Because between F-gold and F-Atium it should be possible to reverse even something done at birth
  18. As spren bond based character/actions, it is possible for a Scardinal world hopper to become a Surgebinder. And yes, Really Cool. Although I think a Soulbearer (Nicrosil ferring ) would be a better hybrid with Surgebinding
  19. A way to clarify this problem would be to negate Identity. If Sazed or another Terris Keeper tried this? Steel minds were hard to fill and Iron minds was much easier. (Then again in 1000 year no full Feruchemist thought to fix their gelding with Feruchemy gold healing)
  20. In a Q & A Sanderson said "burned" metals are atomized and stay in Scardinal's environment. (Sorry don't have the link) The time required for atomized metals to "condense" into burn able metals again could be very limiting.
  21. I was considering highly Investitured people like Warbreaker's God King compared to Vin in Hero of Ages. The God King has 50,000+ Breath, but is still coporeal. While Vin reached a "limit" and Ascended into a Shard. Would a world hopper, have to be wary of collecting too many Investitures in their travels?
  22. 2. I would say yes. In most physical Feruchemy 25% (of full) is the extreme lower limit for storing. (Meaning on moving at 25% speed and storing 75). So only have 25% of your Spiritual Connection would make you hard to notice but not actually "socially invisible ". 8. I agree with previous replies that it would be a "new" Adonalsium (though I have my own theory on the Shattering). What would come from an Eclectic Sliver. I.E. a world hopper multiple different Shards Investitures; Metal Arts, Divine Breath, etc. Is there a maximum limit to Investitures in the physical Realm?
  23. And you are probably right about the lack of scientific knowledge to condense Investitures at this time.
