  1. Have we had confirmation the honorblades are broken and no longer capable of drawing directly from honors investiture? I know Honor was shattered but his investitute wasnt destroyed.. A couple of possibilities with this line of thought: 1) you need to be bonded to the honorblade before you can access investiture directly 2) only the Heralds are capable of using the Honorblades in this way 3) its all about perception - we know that someone holding an Honorblade without knowing what it is is incapable of accessing the surges they grant. What if accessing investiture like the Heralds used to is as simple as knowing you can do it? This reminds me of the scene in Edgedancer at the when Nale breaksdown and acknowledges the Voidbringers return. The whole fight between Nale and Lift I cant remembet him gkowing much, but right at the end - bam - he flows like the sun and flies off.. !~ HIF ~!
  2. Oathbringer / mistborn era 2 spoilers guys. So by the end of OB we see Hoid bond a Cryptic, which was quite an exciting event, add to this we know MB era 2 is between SA 5 & 6. So its got me thinking.. (my answers in bold) 1) Is Hoid still Bonded? yes 2) Has Hoid figured out how to take a spren off world? yes 3) Can anyone remember if this may have been suggestive in the texts? cant memba I can only remember two scenes; SoS - carriage driver when Wax talks to Harmony BoM - homeless person who talks to Wax out the front of "that" party where Hoid gives Wax the copper mind medalion. Anyway, thought this eas interesting and wanted to share. Thoughts guys? Anything else we can think of here..? !~ HIF ~!
  3. This thread has reminded me of something ive been sitting on regarding the Shin and Odium. Its slightly tangential to this thread but I think it fits.. Ive been hesitant to talk about this as I think I may be misreading. I want to point out the interaction stated above between The Shin merchant and.. Rysn and co! I was thinking about this scene and I get the impression that The Shin appear to be kind and considerate people and it seems they lack a certain... Passion. Im also looking at Szeths Povs in OB and he seems to have this same trait - dont get me wrong he's still a bit cracked, but not as much as the previous books and as with my postulation above, this kinda "sane" Szeth lacks that Passion we've been hearing all about. Im inclined to agree that the Shin definitely know more than theyre sharing and they have something going on. Considering they know more of Odium then most cultures on Roshar, it maybe they have been resisting him all this time.. Or..!! Are The Shin already taken by the Void and this apparent passionlessnes is them waiting for their god to return their.. Passion! Now I dont know what to think.. !~ HIF ~!
  4. Just fleshing this one out. Im not very realmatic and I think this pushes the boundaries of what we know so I thought you guys could help (expand, denounce, enjoy, etc). To start with I want to point out the importance of perception in the Cosmere, especially where investiture is invloved. And also consider Odium has already convinced at least one civilization he is Passion - ok, talking about the Fuzed and ancient singers and I known he didnt get all of them, but they are an invested people so maybe this "hack" works better with them.. Also is this the only culture hes integrated with as "Passion" i wonder? Now the big Q: what if Odium is using "Passion" to gain "access" to more investiture? Now im not saying that there's no passion in hatred, but I do want to point out Passion isnt an emotion dedicated to hate alone - especially when looking at other Shards intents. Have a look at the shards Odium has already broken and consider the potential "passion" involved with their intent. Hmmm, i wonder if a Vessaless shard is easier to "access"..? Now back to the question, im not trying to suggest Odium is doing this for more power as it has been stated a few times he does not want anothers intent to influence him. Im thinking more abstractly regarding what this "access" intales. For example if someone invokes passion it gives the big O a window to view them, and knowledge for a General in wartime is quite important. Thats just an example, what do we think? !~ HIF ~!
  5. @LtGrimes618 Sorry for the tardy reply. Honestly I feel I'm a bit biased regarding Mr Weeks: Lightbringer. I think its great, love it.. I would more say the 1st half is slower and I dont think any of it was a chore - 5th book which is the "last" book of the series is scheduled for late 2019 and Mr Weeks is fairly regular in releasing every 2 years so at the least its going to be finished soon. Though in saying that it was supposed to be a trilogy and than suddenly its 4 books and than the author is apologising that it just wont fit.. so, lets say tentative last book. But as I said previously, love the magic system and may be interesting for Sanderfans due to the magic revolving around colors. !~ HIF ~!
  6. Ever had one of those thoughts that made you think I am the only person in the whole world who could have thought this, and disregarding everything else - this makes me special (in an endearing way I'm sure) So, Theory Magic Time.. (TMT) Is Preservation's / Leras's plan concluded? To expand: was Fuzz's "brilliant" plan only to deal with Ruin / Ati and create Harmony or is his "plan" still happening and potentially have greater Cosmere implications than has been insinuated.? I know I know, its heavily implied that this master plan was to deal with events in Mistborn Era 1, but!! It is Mr Sanderson.. Anyone else feel a curve ball here? Guys, I'm afraid i shall need some input here as I've only got my swelled head to put me in his place.. !~ HIF ~!
  7. Ahhh, the only good thing about finishing all of Brandons published work is being reminded that theres more cool stuff out there.. Im currently (finally) finishing off: The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever. Its a bit of a hard read to get into but I totally recomend it! P.s. MA15+ Violence and emotional trauma.. ***** A few suggestions for you guys in no particular order of awesomeness: The Demon Cycle: its finally completed and it was brilliant! Imagine a world where demons rise from the ground when the sun goes down and reek havok, and we have no weapons to even hurt them only defensive wards to hide behind. P.s. its a but R rated in regards to violence, curses and nake'ness. The Lightbringer Series: One of my favorite magic systems, amazing story! If you want to see how someone else made a magic system of Colors, have a go - 1 book left to be released, tentative next year. P.s. R rated - violence, curses and nake'ness. The Lies of Loch Lamora: Imagine Oceans 11 meets Fantasy as Loch Lamora is unleashed on this poor world. This protagonist you kind of want have a beer with, be friends and slap him silly at the same time- not completed. P.s. MA15+ violence and curses The Unhewn Thrown: The emporers children who are descendants of the god of light with their glowing yellow eyes living in a time of tormoil, their father dies, the immortal ancestors of the human race are after their extinction and the god of pain walks the earth teaching its trueth - completed. P.s. MA15+ violence and curses. The Tide lords: Immortals who can manipulate the tide to sometimes cataclismic degrees, havent been seen in thousands of years and are now an unbelievable legend have "returned" - completed. MA Violence and nake'ness. ***** I could go on, theres heaps of good work out there. I could tell you how amazing The Wheel of Time is or reinforce the poetic drama of Rothfuss's Kingskiller Chronicals meantioned above. But I think ive stretched the limitations of this thread already.. Oh!! In regards to what you could reread of Sandersans, theyre all good, you cant go wrong here !~ HIF ~!
  8. @Jeffo No, wasnt talking about what he did with the Lerasium bead aaaaannndd... I dont think Id use this to say why he didnt use the bead as Hoids "bump of trouble" doesnt " tell" him what he needs to do only where he needs to be.. As above Mr S is being very coy about what Hoid has done with this bead, he seams to be enjoying the mystery of this as much as us. Im inclined to think Hoid has used it in a way we have yet to see allomantic metals being used and we probably wont find out until the last Mistborn book (which in my head Is titled: "Mistborn: Cosmeres End") !~ HIF ~!
  9. Hmmmm. I dont think it is accurate to say Hoid is knowingly trying to get access to all the magic systems. Now for my argument im going to use some OB spoilerage. We dont really know much about this form of magic he uses to know where he needs to be, im only guessing it is to further his "goals" and this line of thought could potentially be used in regards to the other magics he has aquired - e.g. hes acquisition of the lerasiem bead. !~ HIF ~!
  10. @RShara you're right, thanks for the humbling. I reread the purelake scene and I was quite wrong. The good brother "God" they worshipped was never indicated to be the stars as I previously suggested and the jealous brother god was not even suggested to be the sun. I badly missinterpreted this and inverted it my mind. The "good" god is mentioned mainly in his thoughts, and the part that got me was at the start of the scene where he thought about the sun and how hot it was and than mentioned the good god had provided a horrible day (which I obviously thought as the jealous brother), but on reread it could easily read; "gods what a horrible day" and not "the sun god gave me a horrible day". So no, I was very wrong in the above post. Though I still believe there is correlations to these deities and Autonomy. Cheers @Wandering Investor for the support . To add to my propaganda on this subject... How heavily is Autonomy's relationship to water? White Sands? Patji? Trell... ahhhhhheehhhhhh..? Hmmmm, I cant back this up regarding water. But The Purelake!!! Eh.. eh.. Food for thought !~ HIF ~!
  11. Though this probably deserves its own thred or has even already been discussed but the idea spawned from reading this thread so Ill land it here for now as you guys helped me produce my very reasonable lines of thought for this.. Doesnt the old Scadrian Trell Religion sound very simmilar to the Rosharian Purelake religeon? Cant remember it 100% but its something like they worship the many eyed god (stars) but they pretend to worship the many eyed gods jealous brother with his one giant eye (sun).. Autonomy on Roshar maybe? Purelake is kinda isolated (isnt it) hence autonomy.. Im rarely right with these things (damnation you Brandon your brilliant man). Anyway, im prepared to be humbled !~ HIF ~!
  12. @Vortaan well if you read the whole extract in question again it seems highly suggestive that Syl is talking about the Spirit Realm. What if nice little Tiens Soul was demanding? I acklowledge your argument but I still consider Tian a viable canditate for "The Voice". I hope Mr S answers this one day.. !~ HIF ~!
  13. Hi guys! I just remembered this amazingly lame joke Ive always liked and I think I've found its home where it will finally be appreciated for what it is!! Ready!! what's brown and Sticky? Carefull guys.. knowing this answer changes everything!!! Your welcome !~ HIF ~!
  14. ** nods vigorously whilst sucking on his fingers ** Mmhhmmm! Mmmhmmm! Its called SanderSmack! it gives you access to fortune for a lil bit.. Ok ok, it doesnt really.. but have some you'll see what I mean. First times free!! ** sigh ** Alright you've got me. Its really just suger.. powdered suger.. Mormon powdered suger. Your supposed to rub it under your arms. Dont ask me why I didnt make the rules! Those Mormons.. they know things man. Just look at Brandon.. he knows things.. and I need to know these things! Mr Brandon.. pls sir, can I have some more? Like, I know you have these flashes of brilliant inspiration and you need to bench things to sort out whats going on in that fantastic mind of yours and no one is arguing about your productivity but.. if you dont mind to much Id really appreciate The Lost Metal.. any day now.. If it helps I could throw a Tantrum! ** sigh ** Ok Ill be good I guess, I can wait. Ill just.. finish off Thomas Covenant. !~ HIF ~!
  15. @Xtafa Ahahahaa!! Once again stubborness prevails! ** shakes fist in the air ** I really shouldnt allow this to become a presidence to reinforce my future stubborness No worries, thanks for letting me know. !~ HIF ~!
  16. @Xtafa really.? Hadnt heard that one. I was going off the implications of their name "Unmade" as well as Sja Anat's talk with Shallan where she said: i was made, than unmade. I am me (paraphrased). Though I guess we dont know how honest she was being.. Hmmm.. Well, until this is canonized I think I might just stubbornly and subjective believe what I want . Thanks for letting me know though. Mr S has said that the WoB arent cannon and may change as he rights future books... !~ HIF ~!
  17. I dont think I have any foundation for this but Ive got it in my head for some reason there used to be more than 3 Bondsmith Spren but only 3 could be bonded at any one time.. though maybe not any more.. And I have a feeling the Unmade may have been Bondsmith Spren before they were.. Unmade. If they are as powerful as insinuated it would be a great ploy for Odium to break and use these powerful Spren against our beloved Radiants.. In regards to youre thoughts id love to see another Bondsmith to really see the differance between the new Stormfather and any othe Bondsmith.. P.s. though Mr T is a sneaky bugger I still feel hes pinnacle to winning this war for the good guys. Interested to see his further attempts to manipulate the big O.. P.p.s. my current guess is The Sibling is the spren of Urithiru.. who is currently slumbering. !~ HIF~!
  18. @RShara hadnt thought of that! I dont remember this being concluded though for some reason I always assumed the gemstone sabotage was caused by Moashes friends trying to assassinate him without suspicion.. !~ HIF~!
  19. Ummmm. Wasnt the context of this conversation between Syl and Kal about him growing up? If so, Tien is a viable choice and what I assumed when I read this part. Though due to the lil ones odd nature (seeing things in things and the such) I would have guessed Truethwatcher.. !~ HIF ~!
  20. Awwww. Cute @Wit Beyond Measure You should buy them a D&D dice with a number inked out and tell them they may hug if they can roll this number. 3 times in a row!! I must admit I got a good giggle off this scene. More from the divide by zero comment, twas nostalgically amusing as it was a bit of a nerdy joke we had back in school. And once my calculator spontaneously combusted when i tried it! (sorry, it really didnt. I just added that for dramatic effect, and cause i still think the ole joke is funny..) ** sigh ** Ahem... not to discredit you or your lil one but you do realise the young'ns have it built in them to take the word "no" as a challenge, and reitterating said word of forbiddence only reinforces this state of defiance.? Hehehe.. i kind of imagined an imaginary dialogue between these two beautiful celibate people: Boy: I want to like your dad but everytime I look at him he gets this creepy glare and holds his hand out to the side.. i tried laughing but he just smiles.. and I get scared.. (This is the feeling every dad wants their lil girls boyfriends to feel, so far this is a win..) Girl: ** sigh ** dont be such a peasant you were braver last night.. Boy: but.. but.. last night I was a Paladin! And I rolled a 24!! I saved everybody! It was awesome! Girl: ** eyeroll sigh ** you did save us and it was awesome.. you may touch me here now.. for 3 seconds.. and if dad finds out.. bring your dice.. Boy: ** passes out ** Ok, im done now.. sorry if that was more amusing to me than others.. but i couldnt help myself.. On a serious note! Where in damnation were thes D&D girls when I was a youngin !~ HIF ~!
  21. @Leyrann all good 1. I think you misunderstood. Im not saying she 1st saw him in that dark room or even suggesting she was locked up as her Radiant powers were manifesting. From what we know so far her 1st interaction with Ivory was on the night of daddies assasination. What I was getting at is even if Ivory was there Jasna would not of noticed him in this dark room due to his dark inky complection.. Not that im saying he was there, just that if he was I doubt she noticed. 2. Huh.. didnt know about that joy bit and Shallans initial bonding prior to her family trauma.. cool cool cool! 3. Agreed.. but it helps 4. Keep in mind this isnt Scadrial where deliberatley traumatising your children is considered normal. I personally dont see Gavilar admitting to Jasna it was intentional and why. At least not until she is old enough to understand. From our limited interactions he was always shown to be very thoughtfull (sept the battle'y bits). I imagine the king would have ample people and excuses to keep an eye on lil Jasna's "lunacy" . 5. Hmmm. I vaguely remember this comment on Radiant Spren grouping to pick Radiants.. I wonder if the "grouping" is across the board or just within individual Spren types. Jasna and Elohkar have (had) different Spren types. Was this distinction confirmed do we know? 6. Agreed, we have not heard of any abuse to lil E. Does not meen it didnt happen, though Ill admit my comments are speculation on what little we know. Cheers !~ HIF ~!
  22. @Leyrann yes, not disputing that Jasna met her "imaginary friend" on Daddy G's assassination. But.. Imagine ( all the people..!).. You are a child in a lightless room.. in trauma.. and an inkspren notices you.. Ask yourself: 1) do you see this inkspren? 2) does this inkspren see you? What i was previously getting at.. and to expand.. Some rules of The Cosmere are Cosmere wide.. And one is: 1) you need cracks in your spirit for investiture to enter. E.g. "you need trauma to embrace magic" E.e.g. you need to snap to be awesome ** Mistborne vs Lift terminology ** And what i was getting at is that Gavilar was aware of this in some form, and horribly used this on his children. 1. Jasna becoming an Elsecaller 2. Lil Bro E. In transition to be a lightweaver Ask yourself: is there any presidence so far that more than one family member has the "Radiant" potential? * M.p.s. dont get me started on Tien.. * And then ask: so far as we know; what did Gavilar know? Well we know Daddy G: * wanted to bring back the Parsh "gods". * has Witnessed Dalinars visions.. * to unite.. * to bring back the Radiants..! .. I could go on.. I think we should think on this.. .. In relation to this thread.. .. And everything Cosmere related !~ HIF ~!
  23. Well it seems Daddy G knew a bit about radiants, memba Gavilars meating with Eshoni where he said something like: we used to be radiant and your people were vibrant.. What if Daddy G "imprisoned" Jasna in a horrible room without light to break her a little so she would be cracked enough to form a Nahel bond and he spread rumors about her "lunacy" so if she was caught talking to her "imaginary friend" it wouldnt raise to many eyebrows..? !~ HIF ~!
  24. Hey hey hey! For starters, slight Oathbringer spoilers here.. Ive been thinking about the final fight scene of Oathbringer and Shallans Lightweaving that apparently had.. weight..and how these illusions had apparent substance, based on how the insane Alethi turncoats fought these illusions as uf they were real (unlike the previous scene where Adolin got stabbed). Now I know in world Jasnah said investiture has a small amount of weight (hmmm, like atoms do maybe?) And also insinuated that Shallan was maybe soulcasting into her illusions. Now im thinking that this may have something to do with the "Soundweaving" the lightweavers can do.. Hear me out, i dont know if you guys have been at a music concert and stood near one of those speakers and noticed how the sound was trying to crush your chest but to get my meaning, play something with some heavy base and put your hand next to the subwoofer and imafine that x100. Moving on from that I was thinking how this could be used in an OP way. Imagine: ( all the people..) ** ahem, sry ignore that bit about people ** * Soundweaving a thunder clap * incredibly low base that crushes organs and bodies or even shakes apart buildings or armour * hmmm, could it be used to create a pocket if soundlessness for sneaking maybe? * other possible applications? (Your input would be nice ) What do you guys think? Eh.. Eh..? !~ HIF ~!
  25. ** laughs maniacally for several minures ** Ahhhh, ok now thats out of the way im going to be one of those guys that says; "i like it. Dont think its likely but you could be onto something.." 1stly I kinda agree with Calderis that Mr S doesn't want to rehash ideas.. But regarding the WoTs cyclic nature this is given and reinforced at the start of every book incuding book 1. Its kinda one of the major underlying theiries to the series.. But.! Mr S has said connonically twice something along the lines: 'theres no such thing as a new idea, just perception.' Stormlight / MB secret hystorys spoiler Sooo.. is this Mr S foreshadowing / apologising so he can get away with accidently/ intentionally stealing someone eles / his own idea? I think not.. Mr S is to good to steal But i will say that I have a cookoo Theory (thats right.. Capital T there) that one of the things Hoid has been doing is "tagging" our favorite and unfavorite heroes and villians so at the right time he can blow the Horn of Vallere and bring these guys back to fight once again for the good of the Cosmere!! Thats right guys, Vin is going to fight along side The Lord Ruler, Wax along side.. Miles.. and probably Wayne too. Because whats coming.. will come? Has come.? Will come again..? Is going to need the Cosmeres best to prevail and what little we know of The Spirit realm I feel the need to postulate that this is entirely possible!! !~ HIF ~!
