Gencon Hemalurgy WoB (Random realmatic discussion)
Agent34 replied to Calderis's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This potentially casts doubt on the Old Magic being a magic system as opposed to a Investiture based phenomenon.- 143 replies

(Spoilers all) Who are the parshendi gods?
Agent34 replied to ICanDream's topic in Stormlight Archive
Nothing's been confirmed but the popular theory is that the Unmade are their gods. -
Depending on how far apart they start Raoden could get Aon Edo drawn in time, it's one of the simpler Aons.
-
Ditto
-
If I remember correctly from the text it said Aon Edo produced a shield that drew strength from the Dor to basically counter whatever force was applied to it. Assuming my memory's correct it'd be a pretty solid defence against whatever Zane can throw at Raoden.

I think you mean Kelsier.

I think the questioning was due to only one fool getting mentioned. This would likely get rid of a fair few.

What's YOUR Talent?
Agent34 replied to Silus - Shard of Flame's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
Pasta is both filling and not-filling. -
I don't have experience with such a character... or much writing experience at all to be honest. With that in mind take everything I say with some salt. A character without morals doesn't necessarily mean a character without motivation. He's immortal and has experimented with magic, perhaps he's driven by curiosity or the pursuit of knowledge?

The Vo-Dari would have to have been out to sea if I'm not mistaken so they can Send another Vo-Dari there. Not sure if you'd find any willing though since it'd end up being a one way trip for the whale Sender.
-
Feruchemical brass could also help with the heat.

I recall a WoB mentioning TLR's uber-Soothing was related to Compounding. What you've suggested could be the case or some quirk of nicrosil Feruchemy that we just can't understand at this point.

Where did the Parshmen offspring come from? (Not the Listeners)
Agent34 replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
That WoB might be the one regarding asexuality in listener forms. Mateform isn't the only form with urges/attraction. -
Raeth didn't think he would make a good Dari but that doesn't mean he couldn't be one or become a Vo-Dari. Self perception isn't always a true image. The Patriarch said he had the potential to become great.

But neither Marsh nor Zane have shown proper knowledge of bindpoints and so on. OK maybe Marsh but I doubt Zane does. I'll put my money on Zane for that fight since we haven't seen anything from Iyatil at this point.
-
I'm afraid I don't have a copy onhand but I can't recall Marsh using it. I can remember Sazed using it because it ran out before he could remove the linchpin spike.

Arclo vs Kaladin: As powerful and as good a fighter as Kaladin is he doesn't have much of a defence against Arclo's physiology and whatever it was he used to take down the two Skybreakers. So Arclo's the winner for me. Vasher vs Raoden: If the fight is close range I'd give it to Vasher although it could potentially got to Raoden if he can draw the right Aon fast enough. If it's starting at a distance then Raoden has the advantage. Does Vasher have Nightblood? It's quite the game changer. Marsh vs Jasnah: I think this fight could go either way depending on what happens. Marsh (I don't think) can affect something in the Cognitive Realm while Jasnah is able to enter it at will, although lacks experience, which gives her an advantage. In the Physical Realm Marsh is incredibly formidable and could overpower the Elsecaller but at the same time Jasnah is capable of manipulating the environment to trap or harm Ironeyes, not to mention her Shardblade. I'd call this a draw or inconclusive. Vin vs Denth: If it's a close range start then definitely Denth, his Returned enhancements plus Awakening plus swordsmanship would take Vin out quickly, particularly if she's caught off guard. If it's a distance start then Vin, Denth only has so much of a defence against coinshots and even if he Awakened his clothing to act as a shield they're still made of cloth and can just be torn with enough force. Keslier vs Elend: IMO this is another inconclusive. Kelsier definitely has more overall experience in battle but less experience with newer metals, some of which Elend knows not to mention he's at a power disadvantage. That being said, he's tricky and cunning. Notes: when did Marsh use Feruchemical steel?
-
His speed is likely due to him being Returned.
-
Good question. I don't think all of Marsh's abilities were described but if he were able to compound speed I imagine it would've been showcased so I'd guess no. It's a soft no though.
-
I think that's more because stormlight is easier to get and any Investiture will do.
-
That's a good point regarding the spikes. I'd too give the win to Jasnah, although it wouldn't be easy against Marsh. A Shardblade and being able to slip between Realms definitely works in her favour though, in addition to her soulcasting prowess.

Once the measurement gets erased the spren returns to variable sizes.
-
I seem to recall them being described as thick hairpins, no mention of blood.
-
I've seen people operating on any Investiture charging white sand before, usually with the example of stormlight charging it. As for the ease of using Breath I think the ease might come less from Breath and more from surgebinding since it's something a person can pick up/develop as opposed to allomancy which is something you have to be born with.

If the question is in regards to uncommon colours by Earth standards Brandon could've just decided he liked them.
