Long Game 42: Master of the House

I will join as long as the MR is over by the time this starts. I should be able to handle one SE game at a time. I'll just go as Steel.- 352 replies

Elenion, if you're going to point out the fact that Kynedath might have tried to take heat of off Brightness, what about the fact that you tried to take heat off of Brightness just last cycle? While you have a point here, given that I just went through your posts (for some reason I couldn't find the exact one that really set me off, but as a whole his posts do just feel off), I can't just also ignore the fact that you did that too. Specifically, you promptly said that the sneak must be an eliminator. That sounds like something you said because maybe you are an elim, knew you didn't have the sneak, and wanted the sneak dead. (I am assuming there is only one sneak here, given that we haven't seen another sneaky item take). There was also the post where you seem dead focused on the six people, and avoid talking about other people, leading the village to only focus on those people. Frankly, I haven't really liked that limited discussion circle this entire time, and that's exactly why I voted on Devotary last cycle, to get people looking at people besides the ones that are right in front of your face. Then, you talked with Orlok, which took heat off of Brightness on the next cycle. Furthermore, right now you seem to be tunneling for reasons that don't seem all that great to me. I only have a weak village read on Kynedath, but I am much more suspicious of you than I am him. In the light of you being an eliminator, the fact that you voted first on Brightness might just be you - and presumably your team- might an attempt to benefit from the death, by clearing yourselves. I know I voted on Devotary before, but honestly given my even suspicions, and after looking back at the posts another time, I'm more convinced Elenion is the better lynch. We can always lynch devotary tomorrow.

Ok. Analysis, finally. I apologize once again for not being as active as I would have liked. Hopefully, now that I have 45 minutes of no parents nagging me to do work, I can sit down and enumerate my suspicions. I've pretty much given up trying to figure out patterns in who talks to who, so I'm throwing that out. And people have not been doing enough analysis of everyone at once for me to compile patterns. However, voting patterns and action patterns are a thing, so I have my suspicions. I believe the elim team is Devotary, Brightness, and Elenion. Elenion has set off elim reads with several posts so far, and now I won't be able to go get them because you guys keep ninjaing me. Suffice it to say there was a post a few cycles ago that really set me on edge. Ill get it if you give me a minute. Im voting Devotary Again, especially due to the fact that he has contributed very little. He responded yesterday when I pointed that out by saying that he didn't say anything when he wasn't suspicious of anyone. That is a classic symptom of being an eliminator, not being suspicious of anyone, because you can't afford to be suspicious of your teammates, and clearly villagers are village. Furthermore, he promptly hopped on the bandwagon in the same post. Brightness then threw shade for me not changing my vote, making me more suspicious of her and Devotary possibly being on a team. Brightness must be elim, because it seems to be between her and Metroid in terms of putting the first kill in, and I don't see why Metroid would point that out otherwise. If Orlok kills her tonight, and her and Devotary are both eliminators, that could cripple the elim team. Kynedath, the reason I was stupid is because despite 9 months of playing SE or so, I'm nowhere near immune to being a complete idiot. I forgot a key thing- NEUTRALS ARE NOT VILLAGE. You would think I would have learned that back in L35, or one of the various other games where neutrals were heavily involved, but of course I forgot. That is why I don't trust Orlok, not because he might be an elim- there's no way he is, given the fact that I scanned him stealing from me- but because he, as a neutral, does not inherently have the village's best interests in mind.

I am hesitant to trust Orlok, I'm going to get to my analysis of the previous cycle after school (it's Friday, so I don't have to do homework!!!). Orlok asked me to scan him last night, and like an IDIOT I did! And he took my bribe. So Orlok is still lying and trying to get bribes, so I'm hesitant to trust that he will actually kill Brightness. He also, according to my logic, is the only one who could have the Map, because I think a villager or eliminator would have already used it to bring another gun/more items into play. I also suggest, if anyone still has an acid bucket, to please use it on Brightness this cycle. That will guarantee her death. So, please, don't give Orlok bribes. (He asked me to give it to him first. Gah). I'm suspicious of Devotary still, but I'm going to see what my analysis digs up. After school.

Such variety from Budgie being evil! Such paradox's! I'm still pretty sure Devotary might be evil... and he still hasn't shown up. @Devotary of Spontaneityis there a reason you are staying under the radar?

To add to my wonderfully annoying RL situation, my mom took my phone. I still will be able to hop on, but its going to limit my ability to be on for extended periods of time, a la to do analysis. Ok, I did a quick analysis, and I am currently suspicious of Devotary. He showed up very briefly, and hardly contributed anything, but still managed to take an item and everything. I feel like he might be trying to fly under the radar.

I really intended to get around to analysis, but between work, homework, and preparing for a piano competition sunday, I'm swamped. I can't even afford to stay up late, because I desperately need more sleep. So I'll try and get around to everything tomorrow. .

AHHHHHHHHH NO MORE CLOWNS THEY"RE SO FREAKY!!!! Ok, that answers my one major suspicion of Orlok, if Eternum backs up the story, Orlok. So... that answers my question as to why no one took any bribes last night. I am going to vote Jondesu. Why did you take an acid bucket? As someone pointed out earlier, an acid bucket is something that benefits the elims in particular. I'm not sure what to make of what my analysis turned up, but hopefully it'll be more useful next cycle, with more comparisons to make. I... don't know how to feel about Orlok's announcement. I believe his claim, but I do understand there are definetly some balance issues, but I don't think the game is broken. Didn't someone say the elims could potentially win in 4 cycles? I also don't know how I feel about Orlok getting a gun. I don't know about you guys, but Orlok with kill roles can be a little terrifying (see LG36). A neutral Orlok with a kill role? Well, I hope he is smart with that. I will also try to be more active in PMs next cycle, but my homework is just... really freaking annoying. Poking me might help.

Random Stuff X: Something Weird
Steeldancer replied to marsoupial's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Sigh. This is what my dad, a music teacher, said to the girl I've been talking to. He was also surprised I haven't converted her to sandersonism yet. Dad, you can be a bit naive sometimes. -
I had this moment as I was looking at this where I went "are we really bringing the clones over from discord?" Then I realized the purpose of it.

Ok, first, Drake you said I lied in my PMs. I... never lied? I said I had multiple strategies, and only shared one in each PMs I actually got out. Meaning, I shared different strategies in different PMs, but only one per. Ok, analysis. First, there was no significant analysis of each player day one, so I'm going to skip that for now. Votes, nothing significant, besides that Orlok started multiple votes, and changed at the last minute. Not that I'm complaining. I'm just not sure I'm going to find any patterns in the votes, without more data points. Finally, the most interesting thing, the "who talked to who" list. Orlok, Alvron and Drake addressed 5 different people directly (I did not include Mac or Joe in this. Most everyone else directly addressed about 2 people, unless they weren't significantly active. I was about to post this as an edit to my above post, and then Orlok ninja'd me. Please feel better @Orlok Tsubodai. As for the six people thing, I would rather we focus our votes on one person, not 6. After looking things over, despite seeing village actions from Orlok, the lack of an item grab... disturbs me. Frankly, I don't trust anything the guy says, after he has conclusively fooled me multiple times before. So the lack of an action makes me suspicious. Orlok. Still hope you feel better, though.

Ok, Alvron, stop with the clowns! They freak me out!!! I would just like to say that my general SE activity is probably going to go down, because I have not been giving enough time to my school work, and that needs to get done before I spend all day one here. So, I'm going to try to get some analysis within the next hour. I will also say I think this 5 way tie or whatever is a suitably AWFUL idea. No matter how much you love it Alvron, that kind of thing is ripe for vote manipulation. even if no one took any bribes. Just give me a bit to go through day 1.

Dang it, i wasn't back in time for rollover. I apologize, i had dinner with grandparents and the terrifying realization that I have a piano competition in a week that I am not fully prepared for. I never did get out all the PMs I intended to, I'll get around to finishing up those tonight and tomorrow. And... I almost died. I'll also have analysis out later tomorrow. Interesting that no one took any bribes... I would have thought the thief would get on board that. For the record, i am still suspicious of Orlok, but I am going to wait to see what my analysis of day one turns up.

I'm voting on Orlok . His explanation for why my plan stinks still makes no sense to me. If we share all our information, the elims learn it too! And now I can't check for information leaking, where elims might find out about all my strategies, and might let that slip! No, it's not the best plan, but it was an option that Orlok swept off the table. Also, now I still haven't gotten all my PMs out, and now I'm feeling less inspired to do so. I feel like Orlok is coming up with a way to shut my new methods of analysis down, because perhaps he finds them threatening? Because my plan has been shot to pieces, I'll share what I plan on doing. I plan on starting day 2 to do 3 methods (there's not much to do day 1, so it'll have to wait). I'll be looking at voting patterns, talking patterns, and analyzing other's analysis. Originally I was going to do it in my notes and just post my conclusions, but there's no benefit now in doing that, unless I'm short on time.

Orlok, are you even paying attention? I'm not replacing analysis. I'm trying a new format. I also don't appreciate how you threw my idea under the bus without giving it a chance. Makes me feel like you're trying to shut me down. And yes, i like making PMs. I find PMs increase village activity, and my own. It seems stupid not to utilize them. I fail to see how splitting up information hurts the village- the whole point is to keep the elims from gaining information. Which, unhelpfully, Orlok just distributed. So I am annoyed and suspicious. However, I'm going to refrain from voting until I get back from church.

QQ- Why the heck is every girl I start talking to so ridiculously short? Do I just have a thing for short girls, or are there no tall cute nerdy girls around? Nothing against short girls, but when you're 6'3", girls under 5' are a little inconvenient. -

When your teacher starts talking about reading novellas, you get excited, and even see one that has Emperor in the title... and get severly disappointed when it's not Emperor's Soul. Stupid English class. -
@Orlok Tsubodaiwhat do you even mean by player player interactions? I want people... to talk, if that's what you mean. Not sure what youre trying to ask me about. I didn't finish up my PMs tonight, I'll get some more out tomorrow. I'm trying to follow my idea, even if some people think it's stupid. I want to see what my ideas turn up, so yeah I'll do that in the morning. Thankfully, no shows on Sunday.

I commented on that because it was the only thing I had any thoughts on. I don't really know what to do with the gun, besides the fact that I don't want it. I don't really want to RP, and I don't really have any other brilliant thoughts. Besides maybe encouraging people to talk in PM's but remember PM safety. Idk, I'm feeling a little more paranoid right now. I've been thinking about the meta and how useless we are at finding eliminators through analysis... I think we've been going about it wrong, and I have some ideas I want to try, but none of them are at all useful until we've lynched someone and we've had discussion.
