  1. Seriously people... Your overlooking the obvious answer for Taldain's tree. Who is the most famous world hopper? Stick! Taldain is obviously the home system of Stick. Stick is so self aware, that he has become a model, not only to his home planet, but his whole system. His system has taken the form of a Stick in honor of Stick itself. Stick has become a world hopper in an attempt to spread the truth of stickness. He keeps reaching out to locals as he world hops, but it hasn't taken hold yet. He's been forced to fix the Dor thanks to Raodin. He has tried to get Vivenna to become self aware, but she was too busy trying to force her will onto other objects. After all, a rope is a rope... Shallan at least listened to what he had to say, though she seemed rather put off by Sticks ideology. Fear not though. His home system has seen the light, and followed Sticks example, and so too will the rest of the Cosmier. I believe Stick said it best when he said, "I am a stick." Man, that brings tears to my eyes...

  2. I like it. I could be wrong, but I think there may have been more than 16 present at Adonalsiums shattering though. Hoid was present at the event and though they urged him to take up power with them, he refused. There is a letter wrote to Hoid as well in WoR that is from someone asking him to join in his oath of non interference. Not sure who this is but it's obviously someone in the know. It is possible that the author of this letter was present at the shattering as well. Still though, it is a pretty good run down of things, at least to my understanding.

  3. Ok. I'm short on time and can't read all of these posts right now, so maybe I'm missing something. Where does everyone get that Shallan is Bi? I've not seen anything to indicate this other than her helping Jasnah with her baths, and that was done in a servant like role. She acknowledges that Jasnah is attractive, but again you don't have to be bi to know that someone is considered attractive. There is a difference in knowing someone is attractive and being attracted to them. Honestly, if I were to assume that anyone in the story is  bi, or even lesbian, it would have been Jasnah... I don't see why everyone assumes Shallan is and completely ignores Jasnah in this respect.

Granted. All your children are powerful aluminum gnats.

I wish to be able to worldhop.

Granted! You can now world hop at will. Your bane? Nothing important is going on right now so Hoid follows you everywhere heckling you to keep himself entertained.

I wish at least a few of my theories were correct if only so I could say I was right for once...

  5. Ok. The question was raised as to why was Adonalsium splintered. I keep thinking about this line from WoR. Chapter 32. (I have the audio version, so if I butcher this, forgive me...)

Our Gods were born, splinters of a soul, of one who seeks to take control, destroys all lands that he be holds with spite, they are his Spren, his gift, his price.

Now im kinda torn on how to read this. Part of me just assumes that it's referring to Odium, but the other part of me sees it a bit different. I believe that the Gods they refer to in this are Honor, Cultivation, and Odium. They were born as splinters of Adonalsium. (Splinters of a soul) What gets me is that I've always pictured Adonalsium as being good. If you think about it though, his splinters have good and bad aspects, and so he was likely to be both a compassionate god and a vengeful god at times. According the second part of the line though, it seems as if he sought to control everything. (He was God after all...) As stated above, we know Hoid was present at the shattering, along with a group of others. (The ones that actually took up the shards.) It is also implied, if not stated, that they were responsible for the shattering of Adonalsium. So why would they do that? Why would they want to destroy God? Well, based on the fact that Adonalsium was apparently destroying lands with spite, one could assume that the people that he created, didn't just turn over control to him, thus enraging him. So Adonalsium seems to have decided to just do away with his creations. He created them, so he could destroy them, "spitefully." In order to stop him, Hoid and the rest came up with a plan. You can't kill God. He's Imortal. But what if you could divide him. Splintering his power so that he can't continue to destroy everything in sight. Being immortal though, those powers wouldn't just disappear. They decide to take them up themselves. They, after all, had just saved all of creation. Who better to take up Godhood. Things didn't work as well as they planned obviously, but anywho... The last line, at least to me, is describing the shards from the listeners point of view. Their Gods are his Spren. Spren are ideas/ideologies given form. Each shard is an ideology. They are manifestations of his gifts.  They are have his powers. His talents. The things that made him God, even if only a fraction. They are also the price he paid. His folly led to his destruction, and now the shards are at war with one another, facing the same fate Adonalsium did.

Just a theory, but I thought I'd share...

You know that website where you can put a picture and it guesses what dog is presented? I put a Dalinar fanart into it, and the result was stupidly hilarious, at least for me.

I mean, I'm pretty sure Dalinar can cause damage when jumping, especially when he's in full Plate...

    That's great!

  8. Ok. Mistborn were originally created when people injested Lerasium, a physical form of Preservation. In doing so, they gained some of Preservation's power. Does anyone else find it odd that Preservation's powers are powered by destruction? In order to use allomancy, you must burn a metal, thus destroying it. I just found this a bit odd...

  9. Hmmm... I'm for having the sister be your opposite point of view. Maybe explor why they come back evil and twisted. Gives her more personality and helps her stand out more as a character. At least that's the way I see it.

Maybe the brother remembers all the good times and the sister only remembers the bad. I don't know not sure what your going for but the idea sounds interesting.

  10. Ok. Potential WoR spoilers.

    Spoiler

I know most of us have read WoR by now, but just in case... We all know that the Parshendi are potential Voidbringers. With the correct Spren they take on other forms. My question is this. We have seen other creatures on Roshar bond to Spren. Just as the Spren leaked from the bodies of the dead parshendi, they also leaked from the dead chasmfiend. I'm thinking there were other places we see this too. I'm wandering if it is only the parshendi/parshmen that we need to worry about our if there are other creatures that can change after bonding a Spren in the storm. Perhaps some day we will get to see a cremling try to eat Rock...

  11. Ok. Spren are just ideas given form right? (I know... that's a very simplistic way of explaining it...) Anywho... after so many years of having the "idea" of a tenth pancake for Tashi, wouldn't it actually have a spren, or at least a representation in the cognitive realm? If soooooo... Lift could actually touch it and probably eat it...
