Second Annual Sanderson Tournament
Turbonator replied to Patar's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Shallan. Renarin maybe might be able to see through her illusions (because he can "see," as he said), but Shallan is at the Shardblade stage of her Nahel bond (uh, spoiler alert). Plus she's slightly crazy. -
Now it's my turn to say that I don't see it. I'll need to look through the book yet again. Maybe with a magnifying glass. Also, @Elenion, I don't know how else to show the face to you. I'll zoom in even more! Edit: let it be known that fingers are not good at precision drawing when using a phone.

Maybe he still will be a side character...

No. But you can join the Necromancers of the Forums. *Mwahahaha* That was a joke, in case you misunderstood, @RubiksCube. -

Yeah, I can imagine. Just don't go near the graveyard. Especially at night or during Halloween. -

I don't believe that ghosts exist, I'm afraid that they exist. -
Wow. You've really thought this through, haven't you, @Evenstrom? All right. Here's my theory: Hoid is working for Trell. Now, here are my reasons: Hoid is on Scadrial at the same time as Trell is messing around. This is widely known. We also know that he was nearby when Nazh was trying to get a map. They are looking for something significant to Trell, and probably significant to other parties as well. Perhaps the map shows where to find a god metal, be it atium, lerasium, or harmonium. We know that Hoid is willing to associate with the more... unpopular forces on a planet, such as the Skaze. He and Kelsier do not get along. Hoid isn't helping Wax by informing him of Kelsier's recent activities; he is instead revealing Kelsier when he wants to be anonymous. This will somehow help Trell. Also, Wax will probably have a significant role in removing Trell. By always being aware of his activities (Hoid's been near Wax for a while), Hoid can inform Trell of when anything is happening. He says in WoR that he is willing to watch worlds burn in order to achieve his goals. We still don't know exactly what those goals are, but Trell could, perhaps, grant him power or resources to help him.

I'll have Wax tap all his weight and sit on you. I'll also have Wayne nearby to make some joke about your death. Then that joke will be engraved on your tombstone.

The Official Thread of Relationships
Turbonator replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Ah. It all makes sense now! About your problem, I really do advise giving him a chance. What can go wrong? (That's a rhetorical question). At worst, you'll discover a sudden hatred of him. Some other member would be better qualified to tell you what to do next, though. Maybe bring a friend for reinforcement. -
The Official Thread of Relationships
Turbonator replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Well, @bleeder, give Mr. T a chance. Then dump him. Repeat as necessary. I'm not good at this relationship stuff. Maybe someone else should give you advice. Wait, how did I end up here? -
Do you bleed have Breath? You won't.

For the first method, you could just break the spikes a few times. In addition to splitting the power (which doesn't matter since you'll be forging them back together), power will be lost. And while I can't find the WoB, I think I read somewhere that melting a spike would cause it to lose some power as well, though I'm not so sure anymore. That would shorten the centuries to a far more manageable time.

Up next on the "I'll lock you in a room" series: I'll lock you in a room full of whitespines. I'll tie you up, then lock you in a room full of carnivorous cremlings. Miscellaneous: I'll take you to the Cognitive Realm and introduce you to some painspren (for those who don't know, they are quite dangerous in the CR, and the locals call them grinders, I believe). When I'm done with you, you'll be buried in gloomspren. What is lerasium's Hemalurgic use? Well, let's test it on you and find out! I'll get Harmony to Shatter just so he can Ruin you!

Why does Nightblood drain investiture?
Turbonator replied to CosmereQuestioner's topic in Warbreaker
So if Nightblood's wielder has been meddling with Hemalurgy, would he drain the spikes first? -
@Elenion, did you look only at the sky, or also at the rocks? As I mention in my edit, I forgot to state that it was in the rocks. I'm going to crop a pic to show the face better. I just find it odd that, so far, there's only two stone faces that we know of, while there are numerous cloud faces. Also, @Argent, if this is the subtlety Sanderson wanted, then one must wonder how many faces there still are... I've had a look at the book again, and I can't find any more faces, but I never was that good at hidden object games. Still, at least I found this one.

Why does Nightblood drain investiture?
Turbonator replied to CosmereQuestioner's topic in Warbreaker
Bah. I give up. I know what spoilers are for. This is not worth arguing over, so let's just leave it at that, if you don't mind. As a side note, I'm not trying to sound mean or whatever, but computers aren't exactly good at conveying tone of voice. -
Why does Nightblood drain investiture?
Turbonator replied to CosmereQuestioner's topic in Warbreaker
Hey, for all people know, I was just discussing what would happen if that situation should arise. But fine. -
Ah, so that's my source. Though I don't go over that list much, so maybe it was mentioned somewhere else, as well.

Why does Nightblood drain investiture?
Turbonator replied to CosmereQuestioner's topic in Warbreaker
I respectfully disagree. While I don't think Nightblood would be drastically changed by feeding him a little bit of Stormlight or whatever, I think that the different natures of different types of Investiture will force Nightblood to utilize them a little differently, or at least "twist" the Investiture in different ways. Now, if you were to somehow completely replace his Breaths with some other Investiture... -
Possibly. Perhaps they are most potent when mixed with a Feruchemical attribute to make that Twinborn effect. I'll add one more combo, since I'm already posting: Allomantic steel and Feruchemical duralumin. I have a hypothesis (it was probably inspired by some thread, so not all credit goes to me, unfortunately) that Pushing/Pulling uses Connection, which Feruchemical duralumin could enhance. Of course, it's just conjecture, and I haven't done much research into it, but maybe it would work.
-
I'm not sure if the Heralds have unlimited Stormlight. Perhaps than can draw Investiture from some exclusive source, but if they draw too much, they could potentially Ascend, which Tanavast probably wouldn't want (though that could fix the Shard, which would be convenient).

Second Annual Sanderson Tournament
Turbonator replied to Patar's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Szeth. I'm not sure what would happen if he tried to lash Awakened clothes, but he now has so that doesn't really matter. As long as he doesn't run out of Stormlight. -
I'm really interested in what Sanderson will do with the "weaker" Feruchemical powers, like Breath and Warmth. I'd go with Allomantic steel and Feruchemical cadmium. I get to fly, and if I decide to go into the vigilante business, I get to do some steel-assisted martial arts stuff with a stamina boost (granted, pewter is just as good, but I'd like to explore this). Plus, I get to be a good diver, as has been previously pointed out. I'd also like to see what effect I'd get from the combination.
