  1. I presume Nale reclaimed the blade years ago when he decided that he was going to guide the Skybreakers once again. The others probsbly hasn't reclaimed their blades because they still want nothing to do with the Oathpact, and the Honorblades are a strong connection to it. I'm still not seeing the Melishi is Ishar other than the name. The text seems to be implying quite strongly the other way.
  2. Hemalurgy is about adding to the spiritweb, not rewriting it. You are incapable of directly changing what exists originally; you can only add to it. Hemalurgy also doesn't create a connection to Ruin. What it is actually doing is creating weak points in the spiritweb that Ruin can infiltrate to control the hemalurgic construct, but anyone with the right power can use those flaws, as we've seen.
  3. I don't think so. The phrasing seems to be implying that he's a Bondsmith, and the Heralds aren't referred to be the order names.
  4. 1. I'm of the opinion that Szeth had no magic compulsion to be Truthless. This is based on what Nale says at the end of WoR which implies very strongly that Szeth stayed on the path of his own will and that the opportunity to stop existed at any time. Regarding the missing Honorblades, my take on that conversation was that Taravangian was lying so Szeth wouldn't think Kaladin was a KR. In any case, we know that Nale has retrieved his Honorblade so it could've been half-truths. I'll discuss the other theories later.
  5. I presume feruchemy and hemalurgy render the metals chemically inert.
  6. There is another, very recent, WoB which explains this. I believe it was the Washington Library signings. I'll pull it later when i have time. Edit: Search Theoryland for the keywords Hoid and Chromium. The WoB will be the only result. Brandon says he's not using chromium, only the underlying mechanism. Edit2: Just to clarify, I don't think my response counts as headcannon as there's a WoB on the matter.
  7. Everyone is already a hemalurgist. It's a Cosmere-wide phenomenon that anyone can perform. Atium steals any attribute and does so better than any other metal.
  8. Most of the powers seem to have multiple bindpoint. Most seem to be on the torso and can be hidden by clothing; for instance Wax never suspected the Set of using hemalurgy until he saw the powers.
  9. Oh. Mistborn spoilers.
  10. I expected the eye spikes. I did not expect the teeth.
  11. No, that's how you make unkeyed metalminds, which any feruchemist who can tap that metal can tap. However, those still cannot be tapped by people who do not possesses the appropriate feruchemical power, which is what the Southerner medallions can do. Based on your post, you were thinking of creating unkeyed zinc metalminds and selling them to regular people. Unfortunately, since they wouldn't possess the ability to tap zinc metalminds, you would be effectively just selling pieces of zinc.
  12. I'm really just guessing about the visions. Honor does make it sound like his parts are just pre-recordings though.
  13. Magic interactive visions. Honor's message was more of a plain pre-recording though. You can predict how people will act, you can't predict a god.
  14. That is very nice. Those teeth are quite amazing terrifying. The spikes are really nicely placed. One little nitpick though. They have tattoos around the eyes.
  15. We don't have a rough approximation on how to do it though, other than "it can happen". We don't even know what is required for it to happen.
  16. Probably not.
  17. I'll admit, I haven't looked at the Ars Arcanum in awhile or even touched a copy of WoR in nearly a year.
  18. Possibly other parts of the book were undesirable which is why it was burnt. One page out of an autobiography. Although, the tone does sound like the writer has some issues with the Radiants.
  19. @hwiles That explains the condensation, but mist is also occurring when a blade is materialized, unless the release due to pressured air would cause that as well?
  20. The yolish magic is non-canon as far as I'm aware. It isn't referenced in the Ars Arcanum. In any case, a number of manifestations of investiture operate on similar principles or achieve similar results, all with different methods of starting or ending the process
  21. Fair enough. My thoughts were that it survived a firing that was intended to remove undesired texts. As such, they wouldn't have rewritten parts of the book if they were just going to burn it afterwards. Also, the wording of firing does imply a deliberate fire, versus an accidental one. Overall, I think this has some merit to truth, more reason than not to accept it. Unless I have some substantial reason to believe it is tampered with, I'll interpret it as not being so. I don't think know Brandon would throw a meaningless epigraph, though it could of course be a red herring.
  22. Yes. My point was not that Rosharans wouldn't get beneficial effects, but more criticism towards your general statement that holding investiture is beneficial, when we have a number of examples that it isn't. The general case is that investiture changes the vessel it is in to hold it better. Slivers and savants are an example of this. @Ciridae they don't, but it would be a main reason why they keep needing more.
  23. I would argue that just because breath improves its vessel, that isn't a good reason to believe investiture always does. Consider savantism. Lots of investiture in a person and it can do some twisted things, such as in the case of soulcasters. My opinion is that breath improves because it's designed to do so. Chances are however that they do have fabrials. As @Tarion points out, they need a continuous influx of gems like the Alethi, and just holding stormlight wouldn't shatter them.
  24. @Jaconis Check Way of Kings Epigraphs, the ones from Jasnah's notes. One of the last ones, it had a complaint about the tariffs required to travel via the oathgates and how the Radiants were becoming to show their true selves. A fair complaint, but I don't think it's a reason to immediately dismiss everything out of hand. Also, it was noted that the excerpt had surviving a burning, giving reasonable proof that it hadn't been tampered with.
