  1. Pagerunner, thanks for that link. Only seen a little of it and will read in full tomorrow. Its 11pm in auz and ive had a long day of work and abit pissy lol. Adonalsium's opposition does not need to be an anti-Adonalsium shard. Just another God Shard. Capital G where the 16 are gods with lower case g. Like Brandon said, it could have been shattered differently. Meaning shattered in different intents. Just like this 'force' could be shattered differently. The 16 definitely played a part in this. Manipulation or not. Not really looking for Hoid quotes per say, just bookmakes where his in within each novel/la. Thanatos Edit. And it seems Hoid has the weapon hidden... Re: The Letters... 'Let me first assure you that the ""element"" is quite safe. I have found a good home for it. I protect its safety like my own skin, you might say.' Edit x2 Maybe this 'element' is literally on Hoids skin? Thanatos
  2. Real quick as im watching a doco but what does it mean when a thread has a star is next to it? Pagerunner, Give me 20mins and ill respond. Just want to finish the doco
  3. Cant specifically point one out now, so many books to remember. So not sure how i came by this. Is there a list of Hoid parts within the books anywhere? Like page $$ in book $$. Thanatos
  4. Yata, I understand that the 16 or more may have been the 'force'. But it sounds bigger than that. Seems like Hoid hints at another 'outside' force involved. Thanatos
  5. I've been reading WoB which is freaking awesome! So i came across these: (Emphasis on the word 'force') What if there were two God Shards with Adonalsium being one of them? And Adonalsium's opposing force (the other God Shard) manipulated the 16 and potentially others like Hoid and Frost to shatter their God into 16 specific intents with some sort of God killing weapon. As they the 16 could deal the blow more so than the opposition. And the reason for the current 16 intents was intentional so 'the opposition' could better get what it wants. Which is unknown to the readers at this stage. Could very well be the opposition is alien to the Cosmere and part of another dwarf galaxy nearby. Thanatos Edit: I dont believe the Shards themselves are power. I think the bigger the shard/splinter lets the vessel/user gain more acess to 'investure'. Like ram in a computer. The more ram the more information can be processed at any one time (excluding cpu's)
  6. WeiryWriter. damnation i kind if liked the Terror theory. Ohh well at least my internet actions are now monitored by National Security. Lol Now we need to find a terror cell call a 'Shard' that is worse than 'Odium'. Is it in the US?Oz? We gotta find this Shard. Lol says National Security. ROSHtaFARian2.0. I like that theory. Suck cause it will be over 10 years before we find out. Thanatos
  7. And the power Invested in him, Hoid is Captain Cosmere. Lol. Hahahaha Thanatos
  8. Forgive me if this has already been done. I was highly recommended to stay away from this site until i read the books plus secrets. Ive now done that and phwaor theres some good theories here. And recaps. So i apologize if this has been said. Brandon says that Harmony is just what Sazed calls himself and that Ruin @ Preservation are still separate Shards. (another story on some rumour on built on that. Re if Sazed died would two Shards ooze out...) Thereby making 16 Shards. But then again you have Brandon confirming of a potential Harmonium metal. So if Harmony has Harmonium, that would mean Sazed either has truly combined the two Shards or his in 'harmony' of the two Shards intents. Thereby being able to create Harmonium. Would that not make him 'The 17th Shard'? Would Harmonium bestow upon someone the ability to be a Mistborn Seer? Coomba98
  9. What if a person called Hoid was the original bearer of Adonalsium. Who long long ago wrote a story of a mischievous young lad called Midius. One day the power invested into the book Hoid wrote, the mischievous character Midius jumped out and became independent. (Re: stealing himself was his 1st act). Midius then devoted himself to Hoid when one day their friends tore Hoid a part in front of Midius, and to his suprise took up the parts of Hoid before disapearing. (16 parts) Midius then changed his name to Hoid in honor of his mentor, and set about getting his mentor back. Hoid could be 'extremely hard to kill', and 'cannot harm the living', because he was written that way. Coomba98
  10. Chull #445. Yeah tried to think of a way Brandon could twist intents. Been watching to many of his lectures lately. goody153. At first i thought this shard could be Fear. But then you know Brandon. Like Kelsier says.... 'Theres always another secret.' Thanatos
  11. What if this Shard that just wants to hide is worse than Odium? The intent of 'Terror'. To terrified to sleep lest something deadly occurs. To terrified to eat lest it eat something deadly. To terrified to breathe lest it breathe something deadly. To terrified to... well you get the picture. (I say it as we dont know the sex of the shard holder) Now why do i say it could be worse then Odium? Playing along the lines of this being true, then what happens when a lion backs a terrified mouse into a corner? Itll attack. I can see Odium catching up with Terror and backing it into a corner, only for the intent of Terror to flip back onto itself. And he who was Terrified, now becomes Terrifying. A force of pure terror greater than Odium. Then you have 2 shards that need contending with or if Terror destroys Odium during their confrontation. Thanatos
