I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but it sounds like it was out there purposefully put there. This was in chapter 89.

    I really like this idea @CaptainRyan. Also great job noticing this. But this would make a lot of sense. Maybe they were all one country but broke apart from the urge to war, to fight. Before, when there were desolations, they could fight the Voidbringers, but after the Final Desolation they broke apart from the influence of Odium.

    So I was listening to a song, Torn by Nathan Lanier, and it just sounds like Kaladin. Look it up, it just is him. There was a thread for this in the SA section, but it kinda applies BS books all around. Do you guys know any other music that describes BS characters? What do you think of this song?

    So guys, what if Lirin is one of the Heralds? We have seen through Taln that the Heralds can have dark eyes. Also, it seems like most of the Heralds are in hiding somehow. There is also the bit about Heralds giving information on medical purposes. Can you guys think of anything that can prove this false?

    Boom the door went as something battered it from the outside. Boom the door went as those inside cowered in fear. Crack the door went as it burst open, a shadowy figure standing in the rain. A voice boomed down the hall, "Books before friends.17th Shard before the real world. Release dates before birthdays." The figure walked down the hall, and... Tripped on nothing. "I would like to join your ranks as a Theoryweaver. My name is antgrgmn, but you can call me ant if you prefer."

    I think someone did theme music for a few of the characters on Musescore.

    I think that this is a great theory. It is further supported by Hoid using the word "Coin" in both the SA books. The Priests might have very well used Coins as the currency back then, and so that would give Hoid a word to say to the Rosharans he was talking to. They would have still been confused, but it would be a Rosharan word. Overall, great idea.

    I think on the first example that hwiles gave, there might not be an adequate translation. On the second however, his use of the word "Coin" seems like it has to be intentional. Also, since the Rosharans didn't have the word "Coin" in their vocabulary, it would seem like Hoid was just saying random sounds; possibly completely switching into another language. Right?

    I think that there is some kind of translation mechanism that the worldhoppers all use that lets them speak any language, and the thing I really noticed as odd was that this translator thing DIDN'T translate "Coin" into "Sphere". This makes it clear, at least to me, that Hoid saying "Coin" both times was intentional. Your guys thoughts? Also, do we know where Hoid was before Roshar?

    Just a strange wording I noticed while reading this through. I can't remember exactly where in the WoK book this quote is, but he is using the word coin instead of sphere in this story. Would that confuse those who are listening? Would Rosharans use the words "Sphere" and "Coin" synonymously?

    Thanks Edgedancer! Another question though- why is this written in (what I assume is) Rosharan Glyphs, while most of the other pictures are in the English we are familiar with?
